Latest MB bios installed, fresh display driver install, reinstalled launcher, reinstalled game, rebooted, disabled windows defender, disabled firewall, added exceptions to firewall, added exceptions to windows defender. Okay, i think i may have this narrowed down to a root cause:
Read through quite a bit of the reddit + my personal experience makes me think that its 100% a power bug with 3000 series Ryzen chips. - Probably related to power plan implementation in the firmware - Intel chips so far have the issue fixed with updating windows - which address the issue in the 1903 update - but because the power plans and scheduler for Ryzen 3xxx chips are tied to the Agesa version - I'm close to 100% sure that is the culprit, and it shows its face early with artifacting the launcher.
So, this may not even be Rockstars Fault - but rather on the motherboard vendors and their support for 3xxx chips on older platforms. Windows CPU scheduling in the 1903 update resolves the issues for a lot of intel chips and Ryzen 1xxx and 2xxx chips - but because the architecture of the 3xxx chips is so different, it NEEDS the 1.0.0.4B bios update in order to work propperly.
More than likely, the updates to the launcher etc were coded with that Agesa version in mind, as its been out in the wild for months - but motherboard vendors have decided to skip and not implement until the 3950X launches.
So - Rockstar is left to rework the entire powershell and scheduler based on previous itterations from windows and AMD to resolve the issue.
That said, the launcher code is probably a metric fuck tonne of spaghetti code and needs a LOT of work - makes Origin look like a fucking work of art.

I am running a Ryzen 5 2600 on a Gigabyte B450M, I get the launcher crash too. Latest BIOS also - BIOS Patch notes state the following: Update AGESA 1.0.0.3 ABBA, Improve Destiny 2 gaming compatibility, PCIe Gen4 disabled when using a 3rd Gen Ryzen (Matisse) CPU due to AGESA change.

A: they dont work on PC
and B: their static hiss is beyond any levels

hmm. Yeah i don't have much experience with anything other than the GSP 670 and the HD 700 (not wireless). Though I tried a Hyper X series pair it was not half bad either. Not Sennheiser quality (mic or audio) but they have lasted me a while.

The headband is pretty important. A lot of people overlook that in a headset and a bad one makes wearing them for anything over 30 minutes very difficult.

A good wired pair isn't bad. If you can just get over the wire, it's the best way to go. I love my HD 700s. Super light, very comfortable, no mic, they don't slip off, and no hiss even with an RTX card in the rig
