Are shop incomes cumulative? I was previously operating under an assumption that I wasn’t gaining income on my other shops when I had one of them selected, but then realized when I get the same income boost (for say, +9 hours), regardless of what shop I had open.

@sour marlin I’m curious what you mean by “better”. I just ran the numbers. If I have three Profit runes, I end up with a simple 4x payout each time. If I have three Fortune runes, in 64 cycles I’ll get average 27x1, 27x2, 9x4, and 1x8, which gives a multiplier of x197 after 64 cycles, or an average expectation of 3.02x payout.

The fortune runes dont double eavhother. They dont stack @belgan. Now I see why you have believed they could be equal or better but your logic is just plain wrong. It is easy to test. Put 3 profit on one slot and check the item to see what your income per second is. Then switch the same item for three fortune runes. Now your income changes each second, but it never comes close to the income from the profit setup.

Testing for stacking or not is easy to confirm, but it’s even sillier if they don’t lead to x8 instead of x6. That makes it even worse 😂

Just test as I suggested a few posts ago. I just did it again and with fortune runes the item fluctuates between 1/4 to 1/2 of what it is earning with profit runes. Never gets above half. I dont care if you call it stacking or not, this means that three gold fortune runes are worse than even three red profit runes, which are at least a constant half of the gold profit runes.

Statistically, over time it is 1 in 4. This is an over time game so there is no reason to treat it as anything other than 1 in 4 when choosing which rune to put on. Plus, test it out as I laid out and you will see that 3 profit runes is always better than 3 fortune runes, by at least double. On any given second, it will never be as good. It's that simple. If you haven't tested it recently, then do so and you will see.

Just tested myself, in agreement that there is no stacking effect, looks like each rolls the 25% chance, and if at least one is a success, it doubles, but that’s it. (It should be approximately 42% of the time where you’d get three fails, which looks about what I was seeing, though it was a small sample size).

Obviously your not understanding. There is always the chance of it proccing more than indicated. If you got lucky with RNG and it ends up proccing 100% of the time it's more effective.

New question! When I have a x2 multiplier active (or other multipliers like the x10 perk), it registers the multiplier when I look at the shop selection screen for my current shop, but not the other active shops. Is this an error and the other shops are registering the multiplier unreported, or should I always aim to have my most profitable shop open when I have a multiplier active?

Actually, just tested this and confirmed that only the active shop gets the multiplier (I had a x10 multiplier up, plus a running x2....which to my understanding is an additive bonus so should equate to x11)...bouncing between shops 1, 2, and 3 it was extremely clear that when I had 2 open, my highest income producer, my total gold increased at a significantly higher rate. It never even budged when I had it open to shop 1).

Definitely a misunderstanding on how the game treats its additive multipliers, but I’m not sure which of us holds the misunderstanding. With a x2 multiplier, only half is pertinent when adding to a previous multiplier. usually, a x2 multiplier is [original + x1] and a x5 multiplier is [original +x1 +x1 +x1 +x1], so when adding a x2 and x5 we would take the original, then add all the x1’s, to make x6). Hence: x2 and x10 would mean x11, since both are including the original number in their calculation.

I am going to agree with Belgan on this one. It is still accurate to say 12x. What it really means is the original +11 more, but that is exactly what 12x means.

Aha! This is a different situation. I was incorrect. In this scenario, we aren’t stacking two different modifiers. You are explicitly adding a +5 modifier. I was wrong.

The pinned formula for soul gems is very ambiguous. I originally thought “Gold” was based on income, but after seeing my soul gem offer fail to rise after using a merge x2, and seeing it rise after activating a +12 hours, it seems to be based on total gold earned in a run. So my question: is this a base rate ignoring runes? And is Gold earned from the current soul gem bonus also factored into the offer?

Sometimes you just hit a dry spell. You'll get them again. That's more than can be said for the gift boxes. I know the dev's say that its not the case but I am fairly confident they stop appearing once you get a few level 81 armour's. Once others get up there I would love to hear if they experience the same things. For me, I would like a few more gold profit runes, but no more gift boxes means no more runes.

Tell that to my phone. By the way I have been playing around and found a legitimate use for fortune runes. They dont stack with each other but they do stack with profit runes. It's only helpful if you have 3 runes on a single item though and you use two gold profit and one gold fortune. It is not as good as having three gold profit but it is close. Normally this would be useless but when you get to the end of the game, I have found myself with not enough gold profit runes to cover my level 81 items. So what I have done is spread out my profit runes to have two on each level 81 item and then filled in the gaps with fortune runes.

I was able to raise my profit by about 5 percent. As opposed to having some items with just the fortune runes. It's a pretty limited use but it's at least something.

There seem to be swings where the ads dont work as well, but dont worry, they seem to be fewer and farther between. Come back in a few hours or the next day and they will probably work fine again.

So when I'm pressing the hammer to get swords. If I accidentally press it fast enough I click a sword and it opens its menu while also pressing the upgrade button and then it recloses instantly. Upon clicking the block this screen appears and the x button to close it does not close. By sliding my back button up in my phone closes it but when re opening the block it shows the same result

@shy plume late to respond to this, but after more reassessment, I’m certain that either I used a 15 gem 10-minute auto-merge and forgot, or my 4-year old did it while I was sleeping (he and I both play the game on my phone, and since I work nights, he’s got a good five or so hours between him waking up and myself). And yeah, if it was me, alcohol could definitely have been a factor 🥴

General question: What does a “wall” mean to you? I’ve been steadily increasing the time I’ll play before resetting, to the point when now I’ve got my third shop with a level 53 earner, but I’m only forging new items at level 32. My holdout has been that my current soul gem ranking (34.4t) is more than my offered SG addition for resetting (25.8t). It just rankles me that I’d be starting over with less than a x2 multiplier, when I know that with about 24 hours of effort I can probably reach another two levels for my max gainer.

@main sparrow I wouldn't be resetting at only 2x. It takes so long to get back where you are only to have a marginal improvement. I aimed for 5 or 10x at that stage and it worked well for me. Save up your gems for a 7 day gem boost and make sure to use it before you reset as well. That should give you a good surge each time you plan to reset.

By the time I reached 81 for the first time I was forging 24 levels below my top item so the 32 to 53 gap doesn't concern me too much.

What kind of late-game strategies are people using? For myself: I get my highest forge to an odd number, then forge a descending odd number array (e.g. if my highest item was 20, I would rank it up to 21, then combine items until I had 19, 17, 15, etc). I then start creating odd-number groups 5-7 ranks above my base forge (e.g. if my base forge is lv. 3, I’m going for 9, if lv. 4 I’m aiming for 9 or 11 depending on circumstance). Whenever I have about two rows free, I group four items into a second higher level to free up space. Ultimately, I am waiting for a x2 merge, where I will fill my board as efficiently as possibly, wait for auto-merge to end (given my strategy, I use a lot of auto-merge), re-activate auto-merge on all disabled spots, make sure I’ve waited at least two minutes since the last ad (increasing the chance of getting a boosted bonus), activating the x2 merge, turning on the 10:00 auto-merge for 15 gems, and then merging and tapping the gem forge hammer as best I can while everything falls together.

@main sparrow what you posted the other day was a lot like the strategy I ran to get up to where I'm at. Eventually, when you are filling up your full board with 81s, you will need to make sure NOT to upgrade the bonus that allows your forge to produce 1 items higher. The even numbered items become a problem when you are relying on those merge+1 bonuses and an even number item clogs the board. That's a WAY later problem though so just keep on trucking.

So, I dropped a ton of diamonds upgrading my offline time to 34 hours. And when I do the math my offline earnings is less than 1 hour. Because of this, the only time I make any real progress is every few weeks when I get the 1, 2 and 4 day income bonuses from the daily bonus. Anybody else seeing this? It's been a good game so far, but no progress = no interest. I hope this gets fixed soon.

@dark star merge +1 is random, but on average I’ve found enough time between their appearances to fill my board 6-8 levels higher than my base item spawn. There are outliers pf course, where it’ll pop up immediately after, or seem to take forever, but that’s randomness for you.

That’s on my shop with 2.1 second spawns, about a dozen yellow haste runes, and me about 50% focused on the game in my free time. How you play would make a difference.

@whole bobcat People are in and out of chat all the time. You can click the star in the top left and either watch a video or spend diamonds to activate an auto merge. Once you get 5k soul gems a new shop opens up that allows offline merging as well.

On your phone

Navigate to Main Storage > Android > data, using a file manafer

go to the respective game's folder: com.fumbgames.blacksmith, com.fumbgames.mergecraft or com.fumbgames.spacey
go to files > Smith1
make a backup of saveData.txt (somewhere)

Then when you reinstall you put your save back

Nah, I don’t want to unmerge (though my phrasing was awkward). I want a single button that will batch unselect the “Lock Auto-Merge” buttons.

As is, I manually Lock Auto-Merge on smithed items when they get high enough, as I wait for a 15/20 second x2 merge powerup. Then when it appears, I have to manually unlock everything, which is just awkward and time-consuming

On iphone: anyone know how to ensure that the game registers me as idle when it isn’t open, rather than paused? Sometimes I leave it and go back and it processes being idle, and sometimes it ignores the time jump and acts like precisely when I closed it.

@sour marlin I’ve tried to verify this multiple times and this doesn’t seem to be the case. I’ve had multiple experiences of fully closing the app and reopening without any offline progress (my most recent experience involved fully closing, updating my iphone, and still getting the same setup as I left). I feel like I have had more successful situations when I simply hit my home button and switch to a new app, but more data would definitely help.

Currently forging Level three at 47 and I cannot convey how much I absolutely loathe how much 48 and 53 look alike. (There have been other similar cases earlier, but I’m too lazy to look them up). I can’t wait until I’m forging @ 49 and this is behind me, but I’ll probably hit the wall before then and have to do this all over again first. Grumble.

@olive arch Level 81 on board 3 took 4 months. Not gonna lie though, I spent way too much time active playing though. Would have taken way longer just letting the game do the work. I also paid to get the gems in my vault twice.
