if you are forging at level 36, see if you build up 16 x #42's
then when you merge them, you should have one level 50
put that on your double slot with your best runes

i like to stay with evens because 50 was the magical level to unlock the next phase
and sitting with a level 49 was annoying (spoiler: just unlocking it usually wouldn't give you the income to buy the next phase anyway)
for the next merge, you'd aim to merge your top item again, so if you did 16x42's for a level 50, do it again and get a 52

Glad iOS finally got updated. The dedicated hammer button area is a nice upgrade.

@maiden ridge tap on any crafting slot. There is an empty black space in the middle of the slot popup (under earning) -- tap that. Then you can select what rune you want to put into that empty rune slot.
It will then be 'active' until you remove it.

I don’t know how I made this glitch happen but now there’s just a sword floating there
I was able to tap on the grayed our corner slot and move it back into a slot, but I just thought I’d point it out
I now know how to replicate the glitch
While dragging a sword from a slot, you tab out of the screen. Such as going to your home screen or recent apps. When you come back your sword icon will be where you last dragged it, even if its not in a slot

Well. Couple simple ones. Be smart with your gem use!
Get your max offline earnings up to at least cover your sleep.
And then focus on getting the x5 income multipliers.
Another good one is to pay attention to boosts. The merge boost, when used to it's full effect, can really skyrocket you forward.
If you are actively playing, have more than 1 empty slot doesn't do you any good. So what you want to do is fill your board up with as many items as you can, and get them as high level as you can...works best in multiples of 2/4/8/16
Merge Boost adds a level to the normally merged items. So two level 10s become a level 12.
four level 10's can become a 14.
8 level 10's can become a 16.
and 16 can become 18....

There are really 3 answers to that question (for anyone, not so much for me)
- whenever you feel like you are slowing down, aka hitting a wall, and just want things to go faster.
- the general 'rule of thumb' around here is 2x your current gems (with 100 gems being the normal first reset)
So if reset 1 is 100 gems, reset 2 is 200. reset 3 is 600. reset 4 is 1800....(you add in the gems from the previous...)
and 3) set a goal for yourself to hit, hit it and reset.

I doubled early on. And I still use that as a minimum target. But I like round numbers, so I set goals over 2x that I can reach. I'm currently sitting on 200b. My next reset will probably be around 550b
Would love to push that to 800b, but I know the wall will be looming large before then.

We all define walls in our own way. So there is no right or wrong answer there. To me, if it takes more than a few merge boosts to get a new high item. your probably staring at a wall.

The best of us, when they reset, are all but instantly on B3.
I get into the 40's on B2 quick, but not as quick as they do, and it slows down a little. But I'm still on B3 before too long.
B3 is the mountain to climb, and every step is rewarding 🙂

Merge Boost adds a level to the normally merged items. So two level 10s become a level 12.
four level 10's can become a 14.
8 level 10's can become a 16.
and 16 can become 18....

There is logic there. But 81 is a funky thing. by the time you start really worrying about it, you are usually on the next board.
so having a bunch of 78's wouldn't drive me up the wall as much as you might think.
(well, you are 'always' on the next board by 81...as it unlocks at 50, and you are 100% unlocked within a level or two of there even on your first playthrough)

@magic oak, what's your thoughts on having all evens/odds vs going to one level. From 16 7's would you work towards a mix of 7's and 9's or all 8's

so sitting at level 49 is annoying
but once you do one, stick to it
e.g. if I have 16 lvl 30's, i'll merge to a single level 38
i would try to get another 16 level 30's to get another 38 and merge that to a 40
(same result as getting 16 level 32's, which takes 4x as long)
and i try to get all 16 the same level
but sometimes if i have something higher for whatever reason (leftovers from a previous merge, a mistake etc.) then i'll adjust accordingly,

Getting an error whenever I click one of the forge spaces, it floats the "upgrade" box over the entire UI and doesn't let me add or remove runes. I've restarted the game and its still doing it. The only way to fix it is to physically back out of the game with my phone. I'll post a picture of it:
