I just got two merge boosts in a row. Kind of sucks as I hadn't had enough time to really build up anything yet. At least I was able to use the second to make one of the 16 items I need for the next one.
I find the game gives me merge boosts when I'm not ready and then gets stingy when I actually am.

They do seem to pop up when you need them the least. I try and do a set up that will leave me a little more ready for it. But when I am in a dry spell and not seeing them I tend to go away from it and miss out or wait and build it back up.

@sour marlin A suggestion to pass to the devs. another game I play gives the timed rewards for watching an ad and the more ads you watch it then gives bonuses for that. So it has an ad counter then give a bonus for each timed you hit a certain number of ads and the bonus is a permanent one. It will get more people watching the ads and it boosts your game in the process.

oh you could do it at 77 as well but you have to get lucky with the forge one level higher. that is how I filled the board with 81s

The way I have been playing is I have to double my soul gems and get one item higher in each store. because doubling soul gems started taking longer then the next item level I started jumping more and more and got to 81.

I usually reset when it would double my soul gems. 100 gems to 200 to 400 to 800 etc, adds up quickly, at 928b gems now.
Yeah, when I reset now I'm up to 50 on the first board within a minute and then focus on the second board for like ten mins and go back to first board and have that up to 81 pretty quickly.
