Suggestion/Feedback on Sticker/Emote Comps
➼ Longer time allotment/deadline- A week is pretty short for most artists to draw anything creative. As of right now, the sticker and emote comps feel like homework, especially when you have to make it completely original.
➼ Multiple submissions-Why limit it to only one submission? A person can have multiple ideas and, unfortunately, we are limited to only one normal sticker and one animated one.
➼ Have more winners- Why is it that only one sticker/emote out of the many wonderful one is chosen? I don't see why there can't be multiple winners and doing that would mean no masterpiece would go to waste.

Just my two cents but I think some of the ones that don’t become stickers should become emotes. It’d be a shame to not use these amazing pieces of art in the server
I agree with that
me too, it's a shame some emotes get trashed when they don't win even if they're good
Longer time: It was announced on the 9th so we have two weeks to complete something. There is no demand on it being a beautiful work of art or something. I seriously don't think this is a play from the mods in order to get free art from their members, it's just a fun competition? I don't really see what the issue is with it.
Multiple submissions: The limit I also get, since one person might work those two weeks on one thing, while another could absolutely flood the channel with very simple images. Having a limit keeps things more fair between contestants.
Have more winners: This one I'm agreeing with, with there being only one actual sticker on the server right now I could see there being a first, second and third place at least for the png and the animated ones.
**Elaborating on the censored part: ** If an artist doesn't like a competition that has no worthwhile prize, they don't have to participate. The reward is that it becomes an actual sticker people will get to use. The only rules I see is that it has to be themed to the server and follow the guidelines for keeping things SFW, I'm sorry but I truly don't understand the point you were trying to make here.
Oh shoot. That's my bad. I'm so used to seeing Month/Date/Year whoops
No worries lol
Still, a week isn't that short for a 320x320 sticker.
it isn't the size that you have to look at though. you can kinda argue that pixel arts are 10x10 and still take pixel artists awhile to do.
A whole week though? 🤔
You could argue the same that the PVP fights aren't fair because not everyone has enough experience in fighting.

As an artist who is friends with many other artists I can say that a week isn't a short amount of time to draw thing for most people and that nothing is being demanded. You Don have to submit anything and if you miss the comp ending you can just submit it in the next one.
-
As for only allowing one normal and one animated, the reason is to prevent someone from submitting a lot of submissions, reducing the chance of anyone else winning. We have multiple comps, therefore later designs can be submitted then. Two total is not unreasonable.
-
Also, we do have multiple winners sometimes.
-
And once again, no one is being told to do the comp.
when will the next comp be?
If you don't like comps you don't have to participate
not everyone has that much free time. look at it this way: most people here are students or have jobs on the weekdays. weekends are the only days they're free, but what if they're not able to do it within that time period? art comps in this server happens only almost yearly, and be given just a week to accomplish it?
no insult to staff, but the last comp was well way over a year ago.
Then they can make something for the next competition.
We don't have set times for them, but their not annually
We've only been having them for twoish years and have had quite a few comps
and the last comp before that happened around the same time as well, around october-ish of 2020.
it doesn't have to be annually, but it is
In that case I think the question would be if it would be okay to hold sticker/emote competitions more often.
what about this?
Over 8 of this server's emotes are from comps
Also keep in mind that staff have irl as well and thus we can't have them consistently as a result
But to assume that staff just wants free art is. Well. Kinda rude.
And I stand by statement that if ya don't like comps, then you don't have to participate
Staff doesn't want free art
Staff has artists
We do comps so that the community can have stickers and emotes that they made
and people do as well. you can't expect people to be patient with staff but not vice versa
1 week is too short for an annual event
Like I said. If ya don't like comps, ya don't have to participate
But what if we do and we just do not have the time to participate? Wait another year for one?
People are complaining because we want to participate but cannot do with the restrictions provided to us.
I'm not going in a circle about this
You are circling on pushing people away from the competition.
Aight I'm dipping out of this.
why not we have a comp every 6 months or in a date that is flexible, and people can prepare by the time the comp starts.
and they can only submit about 3-4, but the ones that dont win can be emotes
This is a good compromise imo
maybe yeah? 2-4? emote comps are supposed to be a fun community thing
hope good ones can stay at least
yeah im sure there can be a compromise
tbf I think they could be done more often, its just:
-open channel
-say 'hi emote comp here is deadline here is theme'
-enable reactions in channel
-add most voted one a week later
Also you guys are forgetting you can just make an emoji before a comp is even announced
Blame innapropriate use of reactions for the no reactions in there til voting
@thorny tiger @weak basin @gaunt vortex I just want to put my two cents as the person running the competition. I know I didn't explicitly say it, but I was actually planning to have multiple winners for this comp, especially if there are several highly liked submission from both the public and the staff team. I think it makes more sense to do that due to how many empty slots we have. Furthermore, I'm a bit saddened by your lack in faith for how often these comps are gonna be held. Yes, it did take me a while to get ready to hold this first comp due to me needing to make up the rules list and how it would run etc (we lost this info after the hack). I would like to think that I've proven myself time and time again as a reliable person when it comes to being organised and running similar events like this. I was planning to run events like this maybe once every one or two months depending on how irl stuff goes, and if I can't pull through one time, I'm willing to bet another staff member would be more than happy to run one of the comps for me. On a further note, I was also planning to make most comps have just a very standard mumbo theme, mainly so people have an idea of what to expect and can therefore prepare stuff earlier if they feel like it. The single submission thing is so we don't get swarmed with a whole bunch of emotes in the first comp and then dont get as many in future comps. And as for reactions, we dont get you guys to add them so its easier for us to set it up for voting afterwards (going through and deleting all the other reactions takes time). But yeah hopefully I got my points across
Thank you very much for the clarification. This does sound good and I still have faith in you and that it's gonna be a fun competition
If you have any other problems with how they are run, please do not hesitate to let me know, these competitions are for you guys to participate in and enjoy at the end of the day and we don't want it to be something you guys actively don't enjoy.
On a side note, I would be down to increase the creating time to two weeks, but bc it would make competitions longer, it would probably make competitions a little less frequent than if the time was one week
It'll stay as 1 week for this comp, but i'm down for discussion on what it should be for future ones
Wait so everyone votes for the sticker? Not just the mods?
'one for the community to pick which ones they like, and one for the staff to decide on the ones you guys pick.' < from the announcement
Oh ok
yeah
