So my father had this old pc in his garage I took it and trying to give it a new touch but I was checking and it's a HP Compaq 6200 Pro
It had an i5 2nd Gen I managed to get 1Tb storage and 8gb ddr3 but last night when I was trying to reinstall my windows 10
It just went off and on for an instance and when it came back it had this smell so I turned it off but when I tried to turn it on again from this shut it just doesn't turn on
I have no clue what happened one video said tried cmos battery, rechecking ram or changing psu
I have done everything except psu cuz I don't have a spare nor do I know which one to get. Can someone help me out :(

Clean it
pc needs to be able to breathe, i personally wouldnt turn it on in that condition. it could short out if it hasnt already
A sudden smell would indicate either a short though the dirt, burning the scuzz and/or blown components (caps, resistors, etc)
Sorry to be all Captain Hindsight, but either way you should have cleaned before switching on
Check the PSU, if it’s old the psu might refuse to let the pc boot as a safely procedure
