#Building a home server for modded Minecraft and other heavy games

My friend and I are tired of renting PCs whenever we want to play multiplayer games that require a dedicated server. For example, when we get the urge to dive into heavily modded Minecraft or other games, we usually rent a server for a month. But we sometimes burn out quickly, and it never feels worth the money.

I’m not really an expert at this, but after doing some research I came up with this build for our home server:

My main question: is this build good enough for demanding games and mods? For context, the last modpack we played was All the Mods 10, and it would only be hosting 2 players (just me and my friend but it would be nice with a few more).

I’d really appreciate any tips, suggested changes, or confirmation that this build will meet our needs. I’m also curious about the ongoing cost of running this server (I know it depends on how much it’s on, but since it’s a server I assume it would be running whenever we’re playing).

Feel free to ask me any questions!

Looks pretty good. You’d probably want to get a cpu that you can overclock to get a little bit more single core performance

Ryzen would be the best since all their CPUs support overclocking and more of their motherboards support overclocking
