It does sound temperature related. You could try playing with open case and maybe also cleaning the case and fans.

I had a similar issue where my PC would crash when playing Age of Empires 2 or Total War Warhammer 2, but it wouldn't crash in any other (even more demanding) games and leaving the case open prevented it from crashing.

on either gpu or cpu, it wasnt reaching 80 degrees C

It’s crashed again, blue screened this time while playing cyberpunk 2077 with no mods

Possibly a gpu issue?
