I'm planning out a battle station and want to do a 5120x1440 ultra wide main monitor and 2x 2560x1440 secondary displays. Only the ultrawide will be used to game. The secondary displays will be for chat, web browser, media, etc. All monitors will be capable of 100-200Hz. What graphics card would be required to run that many pixels at the same time? Would a RX 9070XT be enough?
#What graphics card for 5210x1440 + 2x 2560x1440?

one is for chat and tools, and the other is for media, like 1080p youtube
Yeah they won't matter to the gpu
Running 2 1440p monitors atm on a 4080, any high end gpu just doesn't care about the tiny performance drop from running second/third screen
im coming from a 1070ti and a single 2560x1440 display, i currently run BF2042 on high
having multiple 1440p monitors might be a worry on like a older gen 50 class gpu, but as long as you have more than 4 cpu cores it won't matter
planning 10-16 core, havent decided exact model yet (pricing dependent)
this is what im thinking for main monitor https://shop.asus.com/us/90lm09c0-b019b0-rog-swift-oled-pg49wcd.html
ASUS eShop USA
49-inch curved super-ultrawide (5120 x 1440) QD-OLED gaming monitor with 144 Hz refresh rate and 0.03 ms response time for immersive gaming
Highly efficient custom heatsink, improved airflow design and graphene rear for better heat management to reduce the risk of burn-in
High perceptual 1000 nits peak brightness (3% of the screen with HDR ...
Yeah I see 0 reason why you have any issue on such a gpu. There will be a performance hit, doing more things will always do so, but the actualy fps difference would be barely noticable
I have a neo G9 240 hz and it runs well on my 9070 XT
if i can get ~100hz on this screen playing a game like BF2042 on high/max with highest quality frame gen enabled ill be happy. I've never tried any frame gen or ray tracing features before
new BF comes out in about a year, it probably will
Just launched a game, second monitor playing 1440p video was using like....1.5% of my gpu? So something ,but not enough to drop fps in any noticable way
beauty
thats on a 4080 super
im very seriously considering 9070xt (maybe a 9070xtx or similar if one comes out this year)
okay i've got a follow up question.... above was all preplanning questions because i have to do this upgrade in stages, but prefer to preplan all the parts to it all turns into a nice battle station in 6-12 months.
Right now what I really need is a second screen. Right now i have an Asus PB277. I want to get a new monitor that will work well as 1 of the secondaries in the future set up, but can work as my primary for now and the PB277 becomes my secondary.
Any suggestions for a good but inexpensive 27in 1440p monitor? preferably 90%DCI-P3+ and 75Hz+
