Hi.
My PC died few weeks ago. Quick look at my PSU and i found few popped caps, replaced them and the psu was running great but the PC wont turn on. Stumbled on a random thread about asus mobos with empty cmos batteries not starting. So I changed the battery and voila! PC turns on and no problems.... week later same thing PC not turning on, quick battery replacment and pc turns on.
At first I tought mby a bad battery but then i noticed a small whining/electrical sound somewhere near my ram and 24pin connector. Unplugged PSU and battery, sound gone. Plugged battery in and sound is back.
Any ideas anyone, what could be shorted/draining my CMOS battery? I assume my new battery will again die in a week or so...
