#issue with monitor powering

I’ve had a custom windows pc for the past 3 years and a LG gaming monitor, just recently it is refusing to recognize it is connected to power. No lights on the monitor are turned on.

i took out a old monitor and tried to use a different power cable, it did not work, i was able to get a display out of my computer via hdmi. the monitor with the issue is display port. the issue could either be the dp cable or the power cable.

please lmk if anyone has an idea or a way to test the cable
