Hey guys I'm repurposing my old rig into a NAS, a user (staggeredsix) recommended tiered storage for speed/ capacity balance.
Items i already own are marked as such.
budget is flexible. ( no flex just to flex parts) currently have 52TB across.... ahem .... 18 drives....
- use case is for mass storage, my media library and my You tube projects.
NAS will need to transcode media files on the fly for distribution to various devices in codec they accept.
the YouTube projects in question typically have 500GB to 1TB of footage. typically 3-5 5K streams for the source materials.
am i missing anything?
need some case recommendations as well.
