I just bought the 30L omen. Is the 990 Evo compatible with the omen 30L motherboard?
Is it too new? I’m trying to figure out if I can use it or not because there is a really good sale at the moment
I saw online that the 990 pro or 970 evo will work but want to make sure that the 990 evo is compatible

the 990 evo uses pcie 5.0 but only a 2x interface, so for the omen a 990 pro will be better
as it uses pcie 4.0 but a full 4x interface

from what i can see it is better
for most drives they save some money by not having the wiring for a full x4 interface but from what i can see the samsung drive can do both pcie 4.0 at x4 and pcie 5.0 at 2x
and almost all m.2 nvme ssds are compatible with each other

from what i can see the samsung 990 evo is missing a dram cache and for big file transfers like video editing it dose make a big difference but for gaming it dose not
