#Laptop Hinge Issues

Here's the story:
I had to get my Lenovo Flex 5 repaired because the hinge came loose from the lid
They fixed that, but also loosened the hinge a little so it doesn't happen again
Now the problem is that the hinge is, despite all the tuning, really loose itself and as a result, the screen falls under extreme conditions (which are, with my usage, all the time)

Now, the questions at hand:

  1. The repair tech says that over time, the hinge will get stiffer. Should I believe that?

  2. I was thinking of 3D-printing or something a bracket that I could install onto the laptop that'd act as an "external hinge" in essence that'd mitigate the screen falling issue while not causing the "hinge will break off from the lid" issue. Any opinions and ideas on that?

assuming the tightening mechanism is parallel to the hinge then yes it would get stiffer over time as you open and close it.
