I'm trying to see somewhere close to my full potential speed with 5gbps fiber, but something seems to be keeping me at about 2.5. Anyone have any ideas?

#

I'm running from the BGW320 gateway directly to my PC, connected via the XG-C100C. The NIC is in my PCIEX4 slot, and my drives are 3500/3000 MB/s R/W. I also changed DNS to OpenDNS, disabled firewall and security on the gateway.

No worries. I'm sure someone will know. 2.5gbps is honestly more than enough, just figure if there is something I can do to up it to where it should be, why not. I don't pay full price, so I can't complain too much

I'm a premises tech with AT&T, so I get whatever speed I want for 10 bucks a month.

5gbps is the highest that AT&T provides, at least in this area. I believe they're testing 10gbps in a few markets, but it hasn't made it to me yet.

I was honestly more than fine with 1gig prior to getting this job. I tell most people that 500 is more than enough for average use cases. This was more of a why not scenario

I deal mostly with people just doing your normal streaming, and a couple of game systems. and they always VASTLY overestimate how much bandwidth they actually use

Are there any other devices on your network?

Also is the cable your using from router to pc good for 5gig? Cause that might be it
