i acidentally left my laptop on last night and i found my screen having this light ring around it in the morning, what can i do to fix it? do i need to replace my screen?

Could be a form of image retention. Try leaving it off for a while. If it persists then yeah most likely a defect from displaying the same image for a long time.
When you turn it back on and it still is there try displaying solid colour like white for a while.

Try that if it is still there try a solid colour if it still persists a replacement or some maintenance should be involved.

It shouldn’t be the case here but it can also be drivers/os issues this is unlikely but worth a mention.
