#PC freezing after new hardware install

I put a new wifi adapter in my PCI slot and it runs fine for about 5 minutes until the whole thing just freezes up, I even set the fan curve higher, tried it without wifi, set to default fan curve, disabled MSIs fan controller so it's the BIOS settings. But still after 5 minutes the whole screen freezes. Fan speed stays the same, and nothing is really different besides the drive light just not doing anything and staying blank. I don't know if the CPU just has a hard time reaching the GPU when it's on a lower PCIe slot and just struggles so hard it gets hot or if the new device makes the CPU overload or if the drivers are broken so I'm not sure. Everything else seems fine though, like the wifi runs at 500 mb/s and 50 mb upload but still the thing freezes up after like 5 minutes of it running

The GPU is in the bottom slot because in order to use both mini PCI slots I need the gpu to not cover the slots. I have a 4th gen i7 with a RTX3060 and I'm running 24 gigs of DDR3 ram. I understand the CPU is old and might need upgrades in order for new hardware like this to work.

The drivers are fine and the wifi adapter is the TP-Link archer T6E AC1300

Update: I have screwed it fully into place as I feel the pins are shorting the mobo, I tried fully removing the card and it works fine without it so the card is 100% the problem. I realized the cards pins were shorting the reset switches when moved because when I put the card back in the slot after I forgot to turn the power supply off, the pc did a full boot.

The CPU reads 4.2 GHz while idle so it's some kind of processing problem overloading the CPU

I have since swapped what ports each card is in as I hadn't known you can fit a 1x in a 16x. The driver was never the issue, the CPU just had a rough time getting to the bottom 16X port for the graphics card. The graphics card is now in the top 16x slot and the wifi adapter is in the second 16x slot. So far no freezing or crashes. Will keep updated and hopefully resolved
