#Z790 boot times

Has anyone seen a chart showing boot times for z790 boards? I was about to buy a Gigabyte z790 UD AC and noticed in the reviews people were saying it has 30+ second boot time and 15 second wake times. This seems crazy slow to me, so I timed my 11th gen (intel) PC which starts in 16 seconds, and then my 8th gen pc which boots in 9 seconds, and then my 2nd gen (i7-2600) which booted in 36 seconds. Then I googles z790 boot times, and reddit is littered with complaints about the z790 chipset being slow to boot... what gives?

With all of this "faster" hardware in the last decade, why aren't boot times improving? And is there a chart that compares the boot times for 700 series boards using the same CPU, RAM, M.2, etc?

so far the only chart I've been able to find is this one, which suggests not even using a Z790

That’s nuts with fast boot on my x670e steel legend boots in like 8-9 seconds

#

My B550 gigabyte board was even faster

right? ... I feel like my z590 is slow at 16 sec

I wonder if those are some of the older bios versions

Cause their was an issue with my am5 board when it launched at 25 seconds but evidently it was fixed with bios updates (I didn’t have it then) and now it boots fast

hmmm... the article I found that in was posted 3 day ago so it "should" be using current bios versions

That’s quiet odd. Granted I’m on AMD that could be the difference but unless you have a issue with bios and it’s memory training every boot it makes no sense why it would take that long. Unless it’s just an Intel issue

but it's also from a review of a Gigabyte product, so....
