I’ve been using my pc since 2019 and it’s been working fine ever since. This issue happened once a couple days ago I fixed it by reseating both gpu and ram(ram I had to try the same thing 10 times)

The same thing happened this morning. It worked fine but after my brother was done playing and he came back to play again it did the same thing again.

Things I noticed while I was troubleshooting

  • while reseating ram I tried booting without ram it booted and didn’t turn off, it didn’t even do the 3 long beeps from the motherboard to indicate something is wrong

  • I did the same thing with the gpu and got the same result. First I tried with just the power cable unplugged, the red light indicating gpu has no power lit up but got the same result. And when I took out the entire gpu I got the same result.

  • I searched this up and google said something about checking it mobo cables are plugged in properly or bad psu
#
  • A couple months ago I also had my psu fan making a terrible noise but it didn’t bother me so I left it alone and it mostly fixed itself
#
  • I tried again with everything plugged in and got the same result but this time I realized my gpu fans weren’t spinning. I know some gpu fans don’t spin on boot but, I’m pretty sure while the pc is starting all fans are supposed to spin at max speeds for a few seconds to ensure all fans work.

These are my assumptions on the 5 most probable causes:

  1. Psu just starting not providing enough power bc it’s a random brand gamemax vp600

  2. Ram is gone bad (though I did try each stick individually on every slot, less likely that both sticks are broken) corseair vengeance lpx

  3. Gpu broken `xfx rx 5500xt thick pro II (can’t say the spelling for thick used in the name bc the bot removed my entire post last time bc of it)

  4. Broken gpu fan

  5. Motherboard broken

Please if any experts can help me at least get a close narrowed problem it’ll help a lot since I don’t have spare parts to test with

I’d replace the psu regardless for one
