Im building a home server, and the regular sized PSU def. wont fit.
I will measure its size properly a bit later, but in the meantime im thinking if picopsu is enough for it?

it will contain 6 hard drives and 2 nvme drives, and the board im planning to use is asrock x570 steel legend with ryzen 7 pro 5750G.

It seems that most picopsu-s only have 2x 4pin power and single molex with chained sata power,
i heard its not recommended to have more than 3 drives connected to a single chain, and im not sure if motherboard will work fine if i connect only single 4pin power for a CPU to adapt the other one for second triplet of drives

Idek man, I’m just responding cause why not

#

But with the sounds of it, you might need something a little more if you have 6 hard drives

#

Just to make sure it has enough power per drive

#

But I mean if you don’t mind using 3 drives for a while, then I’d use it

well i'd rather build it right the first time so that i dont need to redo cable managment ever again

#

but buying fresh new properietary PSU is out of question due to sanctions and getting one used/resold is very risky

Yeah, I wouldn’t get a used one

I mean how much space do you have around your server?
