Dell, HP, Acer, etc. All have a bad habit of making their stuff proprietary. Your best bet would be to install another OEM stick identical to the one currently in it, but even then it's not a guarantee of anything since they might have locked the BIOS as a one last middle finger to anyone who even dares to tinker with their computers.

Dang. if i would of known this i would not of gotten it. i seen there is a modded bios that open it up to be able to upgrade the ram. but. i have no clue how to do that. or where to even begin. i would have to be talked to like a child to work through it lol. i hate to have to sell it just because the ram.

Words can't describe how much I hate Dell and HP systems because of the way they are.
Acer is awful too yes... But at least they usually have components that work with third party stuff.
Also this response from the company was basically just a f you. The way I interpret it, they're saying that it would work with other RAM but they've decided to block people from doing it.
