I got motherboards with 2 ethernet spots. I got Philips Hue that needs to be on same internet with my PC but got only one spot to connect my PC to the internet so my Philips Hue needs to steal the internet from the first ethernet somehow , while having different IP so i can connect into it. Cant be the same IP as my PC so just straight up briding them up does not work.

Sent message to the support of the event i'm partaking and they suggested configuring the second Ethernet card with IP and then connect Philips Bridge with crossover cable. While making sure that it does not send any packets outside of my PC to other people in the network.

your Hue will be behind NAT so other computers on the network won't see it

Yeah i can control my HUE through PC. Atleast to some level

#

They got desktop app these days.

don't need a cross over cable, your PC's NIC will be able to automatically switch the tx and rx

#

regular patch cable is fine

But long as it has an access to internet and i can connect it atleast somewhere i should be able to do this in ASUS Armory Crater after that. And after that i can keep the hue in sync with my PC.

so yeah, wire it up to your PC and then try ICS

#

then try using hue sync

I actually got my hue connected to second eth.

#

So i should be fine long as im able to follow up the top tutorial mostly?

#

So i'm assuming this case i should pick up the ETH 2

yeah

#

your hue will end up having an ip address 192.168.137.x

#

you can probably find what that address is via arp -a in command prompt if needed

Hmm the philips hue indeed has all lights on, networking still says it has no access to internet tho

#

and when i try to find it with the IP it has been assigned with it cannot find it. Might need restart that eth port?

#

It answers to the ping tho

#

Actually ARP a solution worked

#

Thanks a Ton mate! You are a lifesaver .

I'll take a few notes and mark this as resolved ShibaHeart
