I bought the same 2x8gb ramkit to upgrade from 16gb to 32 but after putting them in. My pc restarted a lot, couldnt even go trough bios, after a lot of restarts I made it into windows, but my RAMS where locked to 1887mhz instead of the 3200mhz.
Tried to enable again XMP, but after turning it on couldnt boot into windows again.
What could be the problem?
The two ram kits:

My motherboard is an Asus rog strix b450-f and the cpu is a ryzen 7 2700x

well there not the same

#

one is good b die the other is bad c die

#

and duel rank is harder on imc and if your board is t-topology its better with only 1 sticks per channel

#

Then I shouldnt and cant put these two together?

worn needle
#

go to oc chat for trying to stabilize it

#

its bad to mix dies and your cpu imc might not like duel rank

#

at that speed

#

Then should I just return the new ones and get the same die type?

#

Or is B die that much better?

worn needle
#

well you cant find out what you get until you get it

#

so you need more capacity

#

or want more for the future

#

Both, mainly I want to build from an old pc that I got a home server and I need an 8gb in that, so I was interested in getting a 3rd ram into my pc, but I dont know if its possible even

worn needle
#

so 3 stick in pc1 and one a pc2?

mild cloud
#

Yeah, that was the plan

worn needle
#

if you have 16gb in one channel the 8 gb in other you only get duel channel upto 16gb the bandwidth tanks for the last 8 gb

#

its better then hitting the page file but not good

mild cloud
#

I have a dual channel 2x8 now and want to get in another spare 8gb

worn needle
#

well you lose the advantage of duel channel for that last 8gb

#

and it will make it harder to run higher then 2933 ram

#

if you want better then jedec but likely to be stable try droping speed to 2933

#

or ask the overclocker for help trying to get 3200 stable

mild cloud
#

Ok, so I will stick to just the dual channel

#

Then here is the question, which die is better and why?

#

8gbit Samsung B die is often considered the best of the best

#

and 8gbit Samsung c die is bad

#

and c die cant run over 1.35V and b die like 1.4 to 1.45 V thats one reason why its bad to mix IC

#

but xmp cant make good use of both
