Basically I was looking at the Samsung 970 Evo plus 2TB since I found a small deal on it, and my b450 aorus m supports gen3 pcie drives only. I found an Adata S70 blade 2TB for 10 bucks cheaper.

From the looks of it they're nearly identical, apart from the Adata being gen 4. I know i wouldn't get the extra theoretical speed RN but i might after i upgrade sometime in the future.

So is there a catch or just a nice deal? Any other recommendations with dram that i could look for? Crucial P5 is a common one but more expensive.

Since you didn't mention the actual prices or where you are getting them, take a look at the SK Hynix P31. It's GEN3 and very comparable to the Evo 970 Plus, but it runs cooler and has a lower power draw. Those features may not matter to you, but are nice to have is some situations, especially if running in a laptop.
