  • Wrist bands, or ESD straps as they're known, you can get them from Amazon or your local electronics/hardware store. Otherwise, you should work on/build your PC in an area with hard floor. Carpeted area may attract unwanted static and can ruin your day.
  • You will have to decide which power supply to buy since you will need to gather what PC parts you have (or going to buy). Minimum I recommend is 500W 80+ Bronze with a minimum 5 year warranty if you're strapped for cash. Power supplies are the one thing you should never cheap out on, but you should also never overspend on especially if the hardware that's plugged in doesn't even reach the max spec.
  • Any screwdriver kit will work, even a knockoff iFixIt kit. Get one that has all the common Phillips head as well as uncommon bits where you may run into those situations of these so-called proprietary screws. (take for example the Pentalobe screw Apple used on their products)

Inquire for more information if you need.

I was watching this tutorial from Linus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7MYOpFONCU&t=173s

Thanks Intel for sponsoring this video! Learn more about how to build your own gaming PC at https://lmg.gg/edWob

Linus is taking the reins away from our film team and giving you his own view of building a gaming PC. This is a first person build guide featuring Intel's 9700K CPU will take you step by step through the entire build from scratch.

Is this the right way to go with it?

#

Or is this outdated, I might try buying parts for a cheap-ish build but safe one at that, just to learn and sell on etc

@mint ivy Whats the best screwdriver kit that'll do the job, with everything in the set that won't break easy, would you recommend?

I have a knock off ifixit kit by Strebito, this is the one I have. You may find something a bit cheaper or better than this one, which is why I would look around at reviews.

The screwdriver is magnetic so it will be able to pick up loose screws easily.

#

It would pay itself off by the time you start using it on multiple projects, and even if it did break, you could easily get a replacement.

My set hasn't break yet.
