F2, F3, (used mainly for volume control) 3, e, d, c keys all stopped working on a Yoga 720 13in. No liquid dmg, just suddenly failed. (Unless anybody is aware of an XBox controller with wireless USB adapter causing issues of this nature because that was the last thing had connected when keyboard still working properly)
A brief solution was if pushed all keys at once keys would work for a little while, but that's not working anymore.
Turned off sticky keys and game mode/game bar.
Un/Reinstalled HID driver, checked for updates.
Having a hard time thinking the keys are gunked up, 1-2 keys being dirty and not working? Yes. But a whole column? Seems unlikely.
Could it be a ribbon cable? Maybe. Keyboard is riveted into chassis so it's not replaceable. Laptop has also not been dropped or jostled to warrant physical issues.
Anybody have any other ideas? I'd love it to be a software issue on something I've missed but it's feeling more likely a hardware failure. Guessing it's just EOL because it's 5 years old - which IMO is ridiculous, planned obsolescence is dumb.
Guessing USB keyboard or new computer are the only solutions.
