My pc turned itself off, then it wouldn't turn on until I turn off the PSU and on again, is my PSU faulty?

Sounds like you tripped some protection features of the PSU

Were you overclocking the cpu? That sounds like the kind of crash that happens when cpu shuts itself down either from a logic failure or overtemperature.

PC won't restart until you turn the power off and on.

Either way, I think your psu is fine, sounds more like a cpu problem.
