My friend's rx570 (asus, 4gb) died during a power outage while we were playing together. When he tried to restart his pc only the fans were spinning but no image, he replaced his gpu and It worked. I disassembled his graphic card and a resistor was desoldered, I also noticed while cleaning it with isopropanol that the die was damaged, there is no sign of burnt component on the pcb, what do you think was the most likely cause of death?
#Damaged silicon, desoldered resistor, dead rx570 ?

what do you think was the most likely cause of death?
The differential in power from the power outage tripping an overcurrent to the PC frying some part in the PC which part is not able to see. All though its not good to have a resistor desoldered ๐ค
solder a new one back? ๐ค
you could proabbly get a bag of those resistors for a buck from ali express
either way, the rest of the pc is fine? by just replacing the GPU ? ๐ค
oo I just remembered that I have resistances that I ordered a long time ago ๐ก, and yes the rest of the pc is fine ๐
Im gonna try to soder one and and I'll see what happens
Good luck, its already broken , best it can be it could be fixed ๐คทโโ๏ธ
and you think that the mark on the die has no impact?
