cooler or cpu?

on which one do you put the paste?

on the cpu

Man I hate stock coolers so much - at least its not an intel one....

i have mine stuck to the cooler a couple of times, so it isn't just a stock cooler issue. Best to heat the cpu up before removing the cooler.

never had a cpu glued to the cooler with paste - how did this even happen?

#

I used a hair dryer

Pretty typical of PGA sockets. This issues does not happen on LGA type sockets

just putting this pc under load wasnt enough O_o

yeah sometimes you'd have to wiggle the cpu cooler a little before you pull.

Yeah I work at a helpdesk (1-2 Lvl support) seen a lot - but this one was like concrete, never seen before

Probably be stock paste just turning solid.

#

in my case, Noctua paste is incredibly sticky

Whole reason I avoid removing my CPU cooler as much as possible now. Gives me a mini heart attack every time I pull it out of the socket.

Yeah, but it was neccesary because of the bent pins... anyway thanks, I have to finish this one until my husband gets home (its his pc) ๐Ÿ˜‚
