far as i can tell it uses ddr4 sodimm memory modules

@delicate lynx there are so many.... They all use the same type of ram? I am looking to add another 8gb ram but I'm not sure which model I need to be buying...

Open it up and check what brand/model etc the other ram stick is

I see ok. I thought for laptop the brand is generic. The 2nd ram doesn't have to be the same brand right?

You can check what RAM you need by going to kingston.com and going to the RAM section. there, you can enter the model number of your laptop and it will list all compatible RAM sticks. There's also the RAM checker from Crucial
