Hello,
I've done goofed and bought new 16TB Toshiba drives in order to put them in RAID with my current Toshiba on my Synology NAS.
They are MG08 series, but I didn't notice that the current one ends with TA in model number and the new ones are TE.
Apparently they are different format. Seagate has Fast Format utility to convert 512e into 4Kn. Couldn't find Toshiba alternative. 😕
Will the Seagate utility work with Toshiba drives? Or is there like an open-source one?

I am really upset. I never missed something like this.

Thanks a lot.

So basically as it seems, converting from 512e to 4Kn can be hella damaging to the drive. try to give those drives back and look at the synology website to find ones that are compatible from the get-go with the system.

And since the controller is also different, i wouldnt bet on the converting to work either.
