hey all I am using windows 11 and just got a new mobo & cpu and am have trouble reactivating I am not using microsoft account as my user account and when I click "troubleshoot" in settings then click "hardware changed recently" in the steps and it trys to get me to switch my local account to the microsoft online account and the original product key says it is invalid and if I disconnect my internet then try the troubleshoot option it just says "reconnect to the internet to activate" my friend who is a sys admin by trade says go offline and choose the activate by phone and it is fully automate but again if no internet it just says to reconnect to activate any help greatly appreciated

Log into https://account.microsoft.com/ with the same account used to backup your previous activation to the Microsoft cloud. That's the account you'll have to log in with on your new computer to activate.
At https://account.microsoft.com, check Devices, and View Details. Be sure it's the same version as what you're running now. If it was Home edition, your existing installation also needs to be Home. If it was Professional, you should have installed Professional as well. They have to match.
