#

because realtek is a piece of garbage

#

So do you need help with windows or ubuntu?

#

Please be specific in your question

modern pulsar
#

Define this? And on which OS?

#

Since each OS can have a different problem / solution

The sound being gone? What does this mean?

#

you mean at that time you have a "no sound issue?" 🤔

#

Or a continous sound issue?

If it's realtek, I found this thread:

#

Remove the ALSA packages.

sudo apt-get --purge remove linux-sound-base alsa-base alsa-utils
Reinstall the same packages.

sudo apt-get install linux-sound-base alsa-base alsa-utils
Packages gdm and ubuntu-desktop are also removed in this process if you are using Gnome. They need to be reinstalled:

sudo apt-get install gdm ubuntu-desktop

or

sudo apt-get install gdm3 ubuntu-desktop
If you are using Xubuntu this will also happen to you.

sudo apt-get install gdm xubuntu-desktop
Reboot.

sudo reboot

Windows says no sound output too? Bad drivers on there as well?

#

Otherwise, possible bios issue, or damage

gray hatch
#

So, did you run those commands on Linux?

#

Have you uninstalled and checked the box to remove the drivers in Device Manager in Windows?

#

If you have, what happens after that?

#

Also, What are your specs?

#

What's the motherboard make and model?

MBD or drivers issues. I had the same problem with dual boot, and had to use HDMI for sound output on other devices like TV. It was mbd issues. U can try new drivers, but i doubt it will fix your issues. Mine mbd was A320 MK, and thats common problem for that mbd.
