I am running a Raspi 4 at home and I'm running a Tandoor server on it so that we have a digital recipe book. But like 6 months ago I wanted to update it but I forgot both my username and my password (I set it up in early 2021). I still haven't been able to figure out the username and password combination, even after trying like 50 or 100 different combinations. I'm rn trying the way of mounting the SD card to a Ubuntu VM but Ubuntu won't recognize the card after inserting it and "inserting" it into the VM (I'm using VMware for running the VM). How can I get the SD card mounted to my VM? The problem is that I do have a backup of all the recipes, but that is from february 2021. And I couldn't take backups as Nginx apparently wasn't running anymore but creating recipes has always worked well. I'm at a loss for solutions rn. Does anyone of you know how I can get the data?

you cannot battle ubuntu encryptions
either know the password 🤷♂️ or live with the backup
If you don't know the password its game over, F
Managed to get the data. Apparently it just couldn't handle exporting 200 recipes at once but it could handle like 75 or so at a time. So taking a backup now takes like 15 min instead of just one. I'll now double-check that all the recipes got exported and that I didn't miss a single one a d then I'll reset the raspi
Good luck! And hopefully you manage your passwords somewhere next time
