Hi all. I have an Acer predator x27 that took a little bump when my monitor arm failed. I'm getting a black screen with no backlight and no LCD activity, but the PC is recognizing the displays connected and the internal fan is running. Is there a way for me to just test the panel to see if it's broken? There are no scratches or deformations and I'm hesitant to buy a $500 panel just to troubleshoot. Thanks!

Its just black? No signs of a broken panel?

No cracks, no scratches, no dents

Backlight may have broke

And that is part of the panel assembly, so I would need to replace it.

put a flashlight directly up to the panel and see if you can make out anything being displayed

I can make stuff out

So it's the backlight

Yep, backlight is either broke, or came unplugged

#

I would make sure its plugged in fully before shooting the parts cannon at it

Got it. I'll reseat all the cables and if no luck then I'll look at a replacement

#

I am assuming there's no way to fix the backlight at home if it broke

#

As it's part of the panel?

Yeah, sadly, Its a part of the panel

#

Take the monitor apart carefully and make sure the cables are plugged all the way in

#

If they are, then pull the trigger on the parts cannon

Yep they are all plugged in tight, and no backlight

Parts cannon it is. Thanks for all your help!
