#pc turns off once I click on a game

Hello, my friends pc Every time he trys to load up rust his pc just turns off. It’s so slow gets 3 fps when loading up the game already reinstalled windows. 1660ti ryzen 5 3600 16gb ddr4 1tb ssd. Any suggestions?

Some quick fixes (Easiest first)

Things you can do with your software-

  1. Make sure no other software is interfering with the game or the anti-cheat if your game has one.
  2. Remove overclocking settings and XMPs.
  3. Update all the drivers to latest version.
  4. A lot of games require Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes, download the latest version here- https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/ and install as instructed.
  5. Verify the game files if your game store has an option.
  6. System File Checker can find any corruption in your windows installation. Here is how to do it- https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e
  7. Re-install the game.
  8. Re-install windows from scratch.

Now comes engaging with your hardware (Get a technician if you are not comfortable playing around with components!)

  1. Check all vents, GPU fans, system fans if they are not clean. Re-apply thermal paste. Your system may be overheating.
  2. Check all connections to the motherboard.
  3. Check if your PSU is faulty.
