#Audio becomes garbled or won't play when using any kind of volume-adjusting extension

As per the title, any time I adjust volume of, say, Bandcamp or Youtube with an extension (Bandcamp is notable here because they don't have a native volume slider) everything becomes garbled and indecipherable (on chromium-based browsers). I found a thread on reddit about it, but their issue and solution pertained specifically to Edge, which I don't use: https://www.reddit.com/r/MicrosoftEdge/comments/wz6fqn/volume_control_extensions_dont_work_sound_becomes/
For reference, I'm using Slimjet.
Edit: I tested it on Firefox, and they just straight up won't play as soon as the volume is adjusted with an extension.

Have you tried an app instead?

An app such as...? I want to be able to adjust the volume of specific tabs. I'm not sure any apps can really do that?

As an update, I tried it on Ungoogled Chromium and it works there. But it doesn't work on any other browser that I've tried, including firefox forks like Librewolf. UGC is great for what it does, but not having sync is a major downside for me.

what if you rightclick the sound icon on the taskbar and use volume mixer?
