i just looked into it nvidia says you need at least an 8x for anything that uses serious bandwidth

and folding@home will saturate a 4x link to 85-90% peaks

the 1070 uses about 40-50% of the 8x it has as does the 980ti

cause THAT board doesn't suck and it DOES still do 2 by 8x configuration

maybe if i had looked around more i could have found one but i doubt most places do it now sadly without buying the high end sockets with lots more PCI-e bandwidth

enough for like 4 x8 or 4 x16

but everything i found on forums and digging and in nvidia's official recommendations is nothing less than an 8x

thats 90% if you double it to a 4x which is pushing up against limits for throttling potentially since a 1080 will probably use a little more

the 1060 already sees about 86% on the 4x that its in now

and the 1070 clearly uses more

#

oh also, that rig has an 850w PSU going into it and i could link another one with it but i'd rather not

#

so a 2060 and 2 1060s plus the CPU all running full tilt is decent distribution

but thats besides the point, i actually dont know what point oh wait, this wasnt custom built, i have a much higher chance of something getting damaged during shipping if i buy 2 of something, especially if they are shipped together.

(most of this was bought together on amazon but i bought the Titan from Best Buy because of what the warranty i got entails.
