so. did a stress test on my cpu, went up to 100C. its an i7-4790k with an ENERMAX ETS-T50 AXE cooler on it. vote: do i just need to clean and give it fresh thermo after 3 years, or is a crappy cooler? 😄 not going to buy a new one anytime soon, and cleaning never hurts, just wondering

GPUs are better at doing these types of calculations because they are made for them. CPUs can do certain things GPUs cant but at a slower pace because they have powerful cores and gpus have a lot of smaller less powerful cores

but as said as long as you did not change the bios setting to send more voltage you are fine. if you CPU gets warm it will slow down (downclock) to stay cooler. If really bad happens and it WAY overheats your system will shut itself down to keep from damaging hardware
