I noticed other people on here were having troubles getting WU as well. How often do you guys try Pausing for a mintue and then starting again? My Titan RTX folder didn't get a WU for three days until I did that.
@marble tundra you need to install the AMD drivers from their website, the full opensource ones don't come with opencl
In order to install those drivers you need to have Ubuntu 18.04.3, CentOS or RHEL installed.

It’s actually been sunny and cold where I am, and we got solar.
We got a gas furnace that spins up when temp drops low enough but the folding seems to keep the noise at bay

my mining rig with 8 gpus has only gotten 50 tasks total today + 2 on the 8100 (it's very slow), and that's because I programmed an app to pause and fold when it is downloading, so that it requests for WUs more. On my other computers, I've only been getting CPU WUs the entire day with maybe 2 GPU WU per computer?

If I'm folding now, my points don't count, The points for the contest only matter from the 27th to the 10th right? Also, I just have my FAH settings to Any Disease, which is fine, I've actually been using this program for a while for Breast Cancer Research... but Are we actually for real going to be helping with Covid19 research or is this just general charity research?

also, on my first day last week, my GPU overclock crashed on my second unit, causing it to fail, and my next unit was a 10 minute "benchmark test" unit

I just have a shortcut to the FAHclient.exe on my desktop and open that when I want to fold. The FAHclient.exe is the guts of the thing that runs folding.
If you just open the FAHcontrol.exe that just shows you the control panel and if it doesn't detect FAHclient.exe running it will give that connection error

It's just weird that before it would launch fine with no problems. So I don't know what I have done on my end to not function in the way it normally worked.

Do you have a passkey? When you complete 10 work units you will get bonus points that will help increase your score a lot

Also jake you might need to keep an eye on the 6editors-1PC rig if you guys still have it folding.
Pretty common problem at the moment where if it fails to download a work unit a few times (due to WU shortage from the demand) it will essentially stop checking.
Just pause and resume and it will reset and start checking again.

fahclient is what you need running. My advice is to put a shortcut to that on the desktop and open it that way, then if you want to open the control panel you can open it by right clicking the tray icon

Yeah, the PS3 back when it was release had a F@H client. But, later on they stop supporting the console. Think that around also when bigadv started to go out of favor as well and GPUs really started to take off. xD I still remember how bad my GTX580 got its butt handed to it by monster 2P setups doing bigadv. Back then, earning 1mil points was a big milestone.

Now I got a WU for GPU but not CPU
The WU I got was 11778 and have an estimated PPD of 1,2 million?

How does my laptop's CPU use 15 Watts when I run F@H on CPU only, but if I get a GPU task, the entire laptop only uses 10 Watts total for both CPU and GPU. Despite that, it's somehow hotter when I use the GPU despite the reduced Wattage. Could someone explain please? Thanks
