Some of the issues are probably related to internal trust levels (what server YouTube, twitch, facebook, restream, etc) put you on. I have a friend who had to contact the stream team at Facebook directly and have his bandwidth expanded, and have a facebook change their routing for that stream.
He was livestreaming a concert at 8k 60fps with a 360 camera.
As far as I know he was only the 4th independent person to livestream 8k
Though both Facebook and YouTube both currently allow 8k 60 livestreaming if you contact them properly.
I'm waiting for the AV1 encoder to mature, and if I get it working I will first share it with floatplane so that they can upgrade their system to allow for 8k videos (including livestreaming). LMG is one of very few livestreaming groups that has 8k cameras, and I want 8k WAN-Show type livestreams

when they do self tests and pre stream tests it works fine but then when they go live proper the connection futzes bad in ways that seem like a hardware issue somewhere along the line it could be a faulty routing switch or just a vastly underpowered one that breaks the camels back when the stream comes along

They test on FP, or at one time did, but also/mainly to Twitch recently. Youtube's live bits have never been good, nor will they ever be.
