@waxen scroll ok done
Current shitty network https://linusdrop.tips/54e6ed86.png
Devices with https://linusdrop.tips/a43394a2.png beside them indicate WiFi
ill draw mine tomorrow, im not gonna be sober enough for that in a bit
Lol
XD
she doesnt wanna buy a new one
uuuu
So we're sharing pictures from google now?
XD
Hi
@waxen scroll @clear igloo hello
hey
Hi
lol, looks like I'm not using Ubuntu 18.04 ever
Everything is now YAML based from the base install
bbl, updating servers
Lol
Windows takes forever to update, lol
Oof
One day the AD server will finish updating and shutdown, lol
Windows Server 2016?
yah
At work?
no
Home?
Yup, need to swap out the drive backplane on the server and I need the VMs to shutdown to poweroff the server
It is
๐
Saturday, not work ๐
Still not working?
My dad says when we clean, we will
Because we're gonna put it in the basement
It's "loud" and hot
My mom is a light sleeper, the noise of the server will keep her awake
So we'll have to run Ethernet down there, move the modem down there, put a switch down there, and run Ethernet back up and put a switch there
Fun fun stuff ๐
Let me make a diagram real quick
Why not an AP instead?
Because I can put our existing router in AP mode
Cool
Dad said we might run Ethernet to my room as well
Oh, nice
Can somebody here help me with my problem with OpenVPN because I'm trying to set it up on my Linux server but I keep getting this error message when I started it up

try running the command with -v
It didn't work
I'm using the command systemctl start openvpn@server
and my Linux distro for my server is CentOS
theres your issue
welp you're gonna need to make this thing spit out more info than it is, your logging is cut off
Well it keeps giving me the error message when I start the OpenVPN server on CentOS Linux
Oooof, didn't realize I need a PERC card for my server
@rocky badge Ship me a PERC H310 plz
I did but I want it faster
Shipping from me won't be any faster either
Please kill me
I'm having to use Intel integrated graphics
And the internet is slow af
ouch
But this laptop is meh
I have a perc h700
I have perc 5/i
Gimmie @waxen scroll
Lol
if you hate it why are you running a perc 5/i
๐
time for me to watch the WAN show
Lol
@clear igloo I'm bored
fix pfsense
lol
ah
remote connect and fix mine
also my plex server, my minecraft server, the router pool....
what else
Fix me a briefcase of $100 bills
Only the Catalyst 4500-X, 4500, 6500, and 7600 via VSS. Otherwise the Catalyst 9500 can do it via front panel ports
catalyst 2950 ๐
Nope
IOS is the same on them all, probably old but the same syntax
My friend killed a switch
tf
By leaving it in the rain
lol
Ip 45 switch
4 SFP+ uplink
๐ญ
hes dumb
but like 1 why was it outside 2 if i saw just one gray cloud, i would have took it inside
I know a guy who dropped a million dollar linecard for an ASR9010
buy a laptop station in ltt style
8gb of ram
the dust I found in one of those 2950
12 of those
that seems dirt
Looks like a smoker had one, or it was in an industrial environment
Lmao
Cuz it's for meat ๐
Lol
Or bread, I can't tell
thought it was a rack one
ah yeah, its missing the side things to put the screws
how many U's is your rack @clear igloo
45RU
I used to use most of it too but then I consolidated, got rid of a lot of the old gear and whatnot
im actually surprised how can a piece of metal cost that much
a 12 u is already 130 euros
Question is, does it have the sides and a top cover?
Yah, that's why.
Those are usually designed for silence too, depending on the model obviously
PNG* I mean
Silence and it has built in cooling
Yah, it's got support for cooling
the first one i sent also has that
its bigger and costs less, maybe diff type of material?
or poor quality?
Probably aluminum vs steel or something
Am i reading this right
Lmao
or low quality aluminum vs high quality
the last one can support 60 kg
lets see the first one
same, 60 kg
one is cold rolled steel the other is metal
Nice
Nice
im disappointed in my washer/dryer
i just got them
they have wifi
the app sucks
also who would ever need to start loads remotely?
who does that
if you load the washer or dryer, press start
why press "remote start" then start it later by phone
maybe im crazy
No, that's stupid, lol
Lmao
Ed on TechSource has a pair too, I see no point in it
yeah i thought the whole "press remote start" before you leave the house was stupid too
๐
i didnt buy these just for the wifi though, so whatever
Good ๐
Is that just for you? @waxen scroll
the devices on the visio?
Yeah
all of them are mine except two phones and two laptops
my parents visit for a few months per year
so i just tossed them in
i do carry two phones on me monday through friday
xD
@clear igloo im one of those people who doesnt let work exceed 40hr whenever possible
i can disconnect by tossing away the phone
Lol
Techsource bought then because he have too much money to spend
I'm sure, the guy bought a $100K car so why not spend a couple grand on a washer/dryer
ok does anyone know who tavarish is?
im not sure im spelling it right
you'll know what i mean
No
i had to block him from my youtube feed because hes click baiting like crazy with "my cheap lambo" in titles
bitch it wasnt cheap
His car is like 300grants
stop bragging
lol, wat
It's a lambo
I still want to know what's with all the hate bots on YT lately
Never heard of them
car stuff
I don't do cars xd
Blob is too young to drive
Ah, not big into car stuff
Lol
i want to get into performance cars but i need to do a few things in life to position myself to afford that shit
and i dont mean lambos, i mean like focus rs or others... modding, etc
nice
i bought a quick jack at one point
but my floors were too sensitive for it
nifty thing
it had some manufacturing imperfections that made marks on the floor, so i ended up returning it
they told me no pinchpoints and the welds under it are pinch points
xD
Lol

@rocky badge why?
yup
dat edgerouter
so thats why they have so many internet issues during wan show
wouldnt happen on a 4451
XD
i think they have gig, so im not sure
200 Mbps to
400 Mbps
gg
RIP
its a crime for a router that big to only do 400
Ah yah, forgot the 4300s are more limited than the 4400s
So long as they aren't doing 4G backup (which they wouldn't) then the 4K is pretty solid
i see 4g in a ton of marketing materials for SD-WAN and i dont know anyone who does that
what switch?
ah, why don't you have to buy it?
My friend gave it to me XD
that works ๐
$50 I don't have to spend
Ah, it's managed
$20 is the unmanaged ones ๐
unmanaged
When people try to seem smart and talk like they know stuff
-.-
Not you @rocky badge
People in YT comments, lol
woo!
Now to put it on the WAN
Just get some 40GbE NICs and you're good to go
Overkill much?
I know I've got two PCI-X
ouch
So no 40GbE for you then....
Yah, should be cheap
Oh god
Old intel logo
How would I do WiFi from pfsense? @clear igloo
Just go from nic to switch
I would advise not ๐
then switch to aps?
Oh! You mean via the switch
Yeah
I thought you meant directly in the same box
RPi
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
echo 'deb http://www.ubnt.com/downloads/unifi/debian stable ubiquiti' | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/100-ubnt.list > /dev/null
sudo wget -O /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/unifi-repo.gpg https://dl.ubnt.com/unifi/unifi-repo.gpg
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install unifi oracle-java8-jdk โy
sudo systemctl disable mongodb
sudo systemctl stop mongodb
then go to
https://<pi-ip-addr>:8443
Then it's regular setup from there
I already have a Pi
I have SD cards already
Then you're set
f
Should I plug this pi into my main network or my pfsense?
I'm thinking main network, so I don't have to power on pfsense again XD
what is that @waxen scroll
He doesn't have a license for that ๐
What is it Mr. Cisco aka @clear igloo
It's a virtual router that runs as a VM
oh
I love this
Add a file ssh no file extension in the boot partition
And it will enable ssh without you touching it
nice
@clear igloo then get him a licence. It's free for you
๐
cisco once accidently gave me 5 licenses for free
told me not to tell anyone
now im telling
they were supposed to be lab licenses and they gave me the real deal
Best error https://linusdrop.tips/0c23d4d7.png
With that error, you know it works XD
What?
I'm a regular on the networking forum but there are maybe 3 or 4 others who regularly show up there these days
too many home networking questions?
yeah
I lurk
I don't answer
XD
@clear igloo One thing I hate about UniFi's web gui
WHITE theme
lol, don't hate
lol, wat
Why can't the whole site use the dark background
#cloudkey
i guess
i have the GameFirst IV program from ASUS. Would this allow me to stream Youtube over Wi-Fi and game over Ethernet?
I do not have a Wi-Fi card yet
@waxen scroll @clear igloo hello
Yo
so i dont know about gamefirst, but technically speaking its not possible to use two interfaces on the same network (wifi/ethernet)
theres ways, but theres no way gamefirst is doing it IMO
@clear igloo tunnel all the things
asus aint paying for that
๐
my guess is the reason it says "ethernet" there is because it allows different profiles depending on what your network is
switching it to wifi probably wont do anything
Lol
@waxen scroll why are you thinking
Thinking is bad fot your health
Stop thinking
networking is a thinking profession
thinking intensifies
Thonk
Thunk
thinkies
zoomies

woah

@waxen scroll why couldn't you use both interfaces on the same network? since they have different mac addresses, wouldn't they just each get an IP from dhcp and still work? it just wouldn't auto load balance or anything
@pseudo moat I believe it was the outside and inside interfaces in the same subnet which would cause firewall issues
what do you mean by outside and inside
Outside internet facing interface and inside facing interface
I can't remember though, don't want to scroll up that far ๐
but his machine isn't directly on the wan, there is a router in front
so aren't both interfaces on a private subnet?
OH! I thought you were talking about something else completely
lol
There was someone with a pfSense issue who had two interfaces in the same subnet, though you were referring to that xD
Haha, yah
i was like, "what on earth is this guy talking about", good to know XD
Lol
For THAT issue @pseudo moat it would be due to the fact it still leaves the same pipe I think so it wouldn't cause any benefit in the end
Oh, yah, you could bridge them
Hey guys, I'm looking into proxies rn and trying to find the fastest out there for U.S. residents
I got PIA but I'm only getting 35mbit up/down (and I have a gigabit connection)
and that just won't do
anyone know of a good proxy service that is great on speeds?
and low latency
huh, that's interesting. I have PIA and I get 70-80Mb/s
But ah, Express VPN is one of the fastest, but one of the most expensive
I had PureVPN before and that was trash. haha.
I only got like 8Mb/s on that
yea, i'm looking for proxies tho, not a vpn. it seems no VPN gets above 100mbit
i tried PIA's proxy, but the latency was horrible
and the only host they offer is in Amsterdam
so my latency is like 130ms +
takes way too long for pages to show up
when its connected its fine, i get like 500mbit on the PIA proxy, but that latency is just too much
anyone have any fast low latency proxy services?
@rocky badge Wow, that must be nice to have your own VPS. haha
Yeah
OK @clear igloo lab time
2 intf in windows
i manually told windows that the interface priority is the same, metric 10
this is the result
right away we can see that as a default gw, windows cannot use two interfaces
what if we add a static route
1.1.1.1
1.1.1.1 return traffic and source traffic does go through the second interface
i can tell you for sure that linux doesnt do this without hacking
so if you want your windows game to use wifi on the same subnet as hard wire, you need static routes to the game company
that is hard AF to get out of them
so tl;dr for windows i was only half right
but it takes work
lol
@rocky badge weekendthink.gif
Lol
windows is keeping separate arp tables per interface, which i dont remember it ever doing
could be new
@waxen scroll REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, my dad doesn't want me to spend $200 on this.... wtf
Switch, Ethernet, AP, and a nic
shrug
He legit suggested to put the server on WiFi..... ._.
i agree, do it
๐
when you get to the corporate world this happens a lot
all you can do is get them to admit they are ok with the risks in email, store it for later, then do it
Problem.... I can't put it on WiFi...
What did I miss?
you missed a lab
awww ๐ฆ
@clear igloo Hmm, so looking into VIRL more, how much RAM would you say it needs? I read online that it needs like 16GB+ of RAM
I'm thinking of buying a Z77 board and bringing my old 2500K back to life with some DDR3 (since DDR4 costs so much)
64gb
If you can get 32GB of RAM or more, do it
Yeah, I was looking at 32GB. DDR4 I can't even touch. lol
and keep in mind you'll need way more than 64gb and a beefy CPU if you want a few IOS XR devices
Yah, XR is hungry but if @gritty owl is just doing some IOS-XE devices like CSR level stuff, 32GB should be plenty
and a few 3850 switches or whatever VIRL supports there
Yeah, I don't plan to go crazy yet, just want to get something going for labbing for CCNA.
you dont really need a switch for CCNA if you're good at study, so you can do GNS3 or some free thing that supports just routers, or packettracer which has switches but limited features
Yah, unless you plan to move up after the CCNA to CCNP level stuff then maybe start with GNS3
darn you Cisco for all of the acronyms
i almost made one myself
when i was a level 2 tech we just did problems all damn day
i almost automated my job
the tool was going to be called "noimpact"
its an inside joke
lol
basically bad techs would log in to devices, see BGP is up for 30 seconds and then close the ticket out "site is up"
Surprised nobody got that one though ๐
so i was gonna make a tool that did my job
pick in the menu what type of alert it is
switch, AP, whatever
tell it the hostname, GO
That sounds like a nice tool to have
then the script does all of your due diligence and tracing for you, maybe flaps PoE for a dead AP, then you just paste the output into the ticket and close it if it finds no more issue
that sounds really nice
We've got some nice internal tools for bug finding and whatnot
Paste in a config, tells you what bugs you could hit based on the features, recommends software versions for remediation, etc.
Not perfect, I think it's only for a few platforms, but it's a start
only script i ended up making was automatic F5 node or pool watching
you know, the problem happens once a day and the vendor goes "well, you need to catch it"
this is a bit of a mess because im not a pro
but it works
but yeah, dump it on an F5, specify the settings, and it will manage tcpdump for you
when an issue occurs it stops tcpdump
you dont have to watch a thing
oops
need to reupload
lol
LOL
Did you forget to comment something out?
Lol
later
@rocky badge its time for a linus tech tip

I was kind of hoping they would stick the blowiematron (aka the high RPM delta fan) in that PC and overclock it. haha
damn it I kind of want to buy that stupid scary looking asus router
The AX router?
@clear igloo @waxen scroll hello
yo
best VPN solution for a small business?
40ish PCs on network, looking to allow VPN access to 2-3 specific people
For just a couple people, OpenVPN or something should work well
If they have an ASA already, any connect is free for a few license I believe. Otherwise yeah, probably openvpn
@hollow helm I've had bad experience with Asus routers :(
One of their wireless AC models had really terrible 5ghz and would drop
Haven't bought since
They gave me warranty problems too
Shipped the same unit back, did nothing
Now I'm team ubiquiti
Unless a nice Cisco employee hooks me up
No

@waxen scroll you wish they would hit u up
I'm a huge customer, they hit me up monthly
Sometimes I mention juniper to keep them on their toes
I own something like 30,000 Cisco devices
Wot
Same I dont get any issues with them @hollow helm
Isn't that router like $400
ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
Omg
Looking like netgear is very keen on pushing their 'gaming' routers
Why...
Probably because they make more money off them
Throw 'gaming' into the name of a product and give it an aggressive aesthetic and people will pay more

Yeah, I'm tempted to build an anti gaming computer that's good for gaming
Supermicro parts and such
lol
Lol
lol
"Now I'm team ubiquiti"
I had asus RMA issues too
I thanked the lord that I has purchased a Squaretrade plan on it
I was thinking OpenVPN as well
Just wanted to see if people had anything against that or other opinions
@gritty owl the kind of switch linus would like in his server room
haha, it would fit right in
if there was a 48 port/faster version yeah
he would prob fill the rack with it
maybe aura sync compatible
lol, ASUS would do that
lol
Ew
linus should have put rgb fans in its storinators
I'm surprised he didn't to be honest. haha
wow, that is quite robust (and expensive)
but if you have a switch, it would be hard to plug the connector closer to another one
@clear igloo Do Dual CPU Sockets Matter in 2018?
Always
great.
now can you buy some dollar shave club?
would be gr8
@rocky badge it would be dank A.F. yo
anyone have experience with DNS settings?
probably
Im connecting a domain to a squarespace website
the CNAME records are being weird
its showing ive changed the data, but its adding the domain onto it also
E.g. it asked me to change it to "verify.squarespace.com" but after i made the change its showing on squarespaces current data as "verify.squarespace.com.mydomainnamehere.com"
namecheap?
@waxen scroll @clear igloo hello
Who dares summon me!
hides
stomps
runs
cables network
ruins network
Y u do dis?
To mess with you
Oh, ok
introduces a bug into @rocky badge 's netgear switch which drops traffic one way between only two hosts
What
oh, do you think im insane
maybe i am
thats a real problem in the real world that i had to troubleshoot once
Lol
why did it happen? deep in the OS which i cannot reach as a customer a 0 changed to a 1 in some table it keeps
extreme networks switch
purple in color
never did like that
it made new hardware look cheap
watching the support guy working in debug mode was a trip
he would issue the asics commands and the commands were long strings of cryptic information
Our school has ExtremeNetworks switches
@clear igloo this guy on linkedin is insane
hes done this to me once before and i ignored his invite, now hes back
trying again
he tries to get me to accept an invite to bypass the linkedin mail limitations
Lol
then he tries to get me to do work for him DAY OF
are you kidding me dude
im not gonna trust some random telling me last minute to go to a client of his, especially if we dont have an existing contract to get me paid
for all i know he skips out on paying or wants to offer $10/hr
๐
Core Responsibilities
Facilitates training of lower grade technicians to better understand
Telnet, and Command Line Interface commands into the CMTS's, Routers,
Switches, etc.
comcast throwing shade at their own people
"lower grade" is a little harsh
Lol
"Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work
nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary."
if thats in a job description, run
the attendance part
tells you what kind of management they have, what kind of people work there, etc
lol
that low grade part already raised an eyebrow
Lol
Yup
How do you use Discord at work? @clear igloo
same. i use my phone
Oh
I use it on my work PC ๐
I mean on work devices or personal
my policy is not to do anything like that on work resources ... ill do some things sparingly
plus the shit they can do to you is scary
some employers track time you waste, some sniff packets, some decrypt SSL
Lol
Yah, most places care if you do that stuff
My school uses their own SSL certificate for Google
They blocked Discord because I used it during class <.<
lol
Not enough traffic probably
I may or may not have stuff I shouldn't be able to access from school on my site...
i made a website back in the early 2000s with a cgi-proxy and it was setup in a way that a normie like a school admin wouldnt realize what it was
i put it behind a paywall
got students to pay me
Lol
they never blocked it
they used websense and thats a very aggressive filter
one of the kids in my class also ruined a bypass for everyone
they were dumb and while they used a proxy to make the filter work, they didnt block 80/443
so you can remove the proxy and the internet would work unfiltered
this dude told them about it lol
Lmao
heres another lol
they decided they didnt want students in the C drive
and lets be honest, who does
emulators were a HUGE problem at my school
people would hide them
they were scanning for emulators and games daily to auto delete
anyway so they did this and sure enough you cant get at the C drive
have you used XP much?
No
ok so there used to be a utility called disk cleanup
it worked similar to ccleaner
but more basic
Oh
i knew that when you opened it there was a button that said "view files"
so i tried that
LOL C: access
once the folder opened, you could escape it
Lol
lets see... there was a way to open regedit as well, so you could enable what was basically a program that could broadcast network messages to one or more computers
a few people were doing that but they were smart enough to limit it to a few computers
back then if you did this crap it would probably be detention or less
now i bet they would toss you in jail
security is much better now. there are also 3rd party apps that will just stop anything from running thats not on a list
A lot of stuff is blocked at school
when i was the admin for like 4 stores and maybe 10 computers, i was using 3rd party apps. one of them stopped unknown programs from running, another nuked the computer to a fresh state every time it restarted
solved a crapload of problems and reduced bad things employees were doing
like installing limewire, torrenting, etc
Oof
they were doing this on machines that they were also entering personal info into
so not good
Oh...
so next time you go to a store like tmobile where the employees get bored and use the machines for other shit, beware LOL
who knows if its got some malware stealing info
i should clarify, non-corporate stores
corporate is usually smarter
mom and pop shops usually dont have an IT person until it breaks so bad its not usable
@rocky badge its so quiet
Yeah
@subtle glen hows your pfsense
eh....
now i wouldnt use it 24/7 due to power consumption
also the fact that i would have a diff subnet would mean i have to run cables to have everything on the same network
which is probably what i will do
@waxen scroll wooo, my VPN works
you should have bought PIA
help linus keep the lights on

welcome
dont you draw your network diagram on paint?
mmm the ps2 has an ethernet port
i should connect it aswell
how come you havent consolidated this since you have a smart switch ;p
caaaause i got it for free
andi have no experience about that
got that switch for free with few pc (7), 3 other cisco switches, one juniper router, cables, keyboards and mices
๐๐ป
What exactly is pf sense?
based on freebsd
there are a lot of interfaces there
and what are the benefits of using pf sense?
Not having to deal with ISP crap provided modem/router combo
It's amazing, better than consumer shit, etc
ooooo if lzdanger would hear that
Do i look like i care ?
XD
you'll never use pfsense to replace a modem and many non-pfsense devices have additional acceleration features in hardware
im not advocating for ISP provided routers
what would you use if you have to choose a router os
OS doesnt matter to me as much as hardware platform. for home use i prefer linux OS with drivers that support hardware acceleration
much like ubiquiti does with their cavium chips
i also look for power utilization. i want a low power CPU with hardware acceleration in a tiny box
with pfsense you COULD put it on a raspi, but the CPU will be a huge bottleneck because no hardware acceleration
so what do you do? put it on a midtower PC?
so much power waste
Lol
I have a friend that uses a 3930K system for pfsense... lol
I use a dual X5355 server for pfsense
More powah
im not sure how well even a 3930k will do for line rate speeds either
i have a 3930k myself lol
I'm plenty happy with my Edgerouter 4.
Oh, I'm still hanging on with a 2700K
yeah i want to move to a new build but the costs of new high end is stupid compared to a few years ago
and i dont want mid range
whats funny is the new i5 6-core can beat my PC, but only in single thread
Lol
every time i get close to having the money i want to use the money for other items.... new washer/dryer, vacations, whatever
a quad socket xeon server....
lol @waxen scroll
thats what happens when you try to max out your retirement accounts every year
nothing accumulating that fast
@rocky badge it takes roughly $23,500 to max them
Lol
mmmm
i need a new job, $30k more
@waxen scroll Build a PC that's better than @clear igloo's
what do i have to beat? ive probably already built one better
i did the best i9 money can buy
two of these kits: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232482
@waxen scroll Beat this, aka Lurick's build. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Lurick/saved/WChHNG
yeah i beat that already
thats a lot of fans
ooh
uuu i call for a challenge
its not MY pc, but i did beat it with a friends build
one of my friends pays barely anything in bills and hates investing
so i get asked to build lots of things
lol
i would never pay $8k for a non-server
lol
https://www.supermicro.com/products/system/2U/2029/SYS-2029TP-HTR.cfmi would buy this 4 mini servers in one chassis rn
they take no time to build.... just slap the cpu and memory in and done
and all the 24 (48) disks
lol
in what kind of chassis these go in
dell r810
it broke on the guy and dell sent him a CPU which i had to install into it
i would make a 4U server with 4 of those modules you can swap in
or a quad socket 65 drive storinator
he had every memory slot populated... so i think it was 1TB+
my guess is that thing could handle maybe 300 VMs
but can it run crysis
no
thats newer, i havent seen one IRL before. i havent worked with servers professional since 2012
its what you think it is
Blade servers
lol
is that 24 U?
shared hard drive media, then blade servers
no wait 13 i think
it has 5 psu
an example of why a company would need something such powerful?
ooof
Most large enterprises have dozens or more of something similar just to process traffic stats and data to get a handle on what's happening in the network
Hai @clear igloo
yo
In the case I alluded to above, that system (obviously with more blade enclosures) was going to be installed to handle the full through-put of a large US carrier
nope
Are you referring to a different but similar style box then since that SuperMicro is blade servers only?
Or did they do white-box stuff with that?
We were using HP blades iirc at the time
yeah, c7000s
And no, we weren't white-labeling the equipment... we were installing and configuring our own software running on them
Ah, you said full throughput of the network so I assumed it was white-box network gear since you said they weren't using it for netflow data collection or collection of similar network data
Mostly curious but if you can't say that's cool, totally understand that stuff ๐
yeah, it was data-processing on the full throughput of their network, but yeah, can't talk much more about it :/
Ok, so data processing, I was close ๐
๐
Getting into a lot of streaming telemetry/stats and whatnot so that's mostly why I was curious as to what it was being used for
ah cool
are you talking about overkill servers ๐ ๐
overkill is relative... the system I worked on used all of that and we needed more
but that was 10 years ago
Hmm, so charter spectrum sales guy came by, apparently my area has fiber optic by spectrum.
The sales guy showed me the speed is up to 200 Mb/s...on download. Upload still not great sadly.
Though I'm kind of curious how the fiber system works...I wonder if they're fiber to the home now as well.
Is there a modem?
No idea, the guy didn't mention it.
He already kind of wtf that I mentioned I have a server rack. lo
lol
i can tell you yes without clicking that or your mistyping
I don't know if I should click on it or not. lol
ooops
that link is dead to me. haha.

link works for me
Usually if it's an Arris modem it'll go to it's status page
Oh, I have frontier fios
OH
