first gen 7 oil coolers aren't fmocs, and have engine coolant lines running through them
so first gens heat soak bad after a couple of hard laps, then you have to pull off and sit for a while

AE86 and BNR32 have piston engines, so probably easier servicing.
The AE86 has the least power of all your considerations, and combined with the poor weight distribution, plus it being overhyped aka overpriced probably would be the worst car to consider. It's not terrible, but it's mostly overhyped by a manga and an anime
The BNR32 might be a tad expensive, both to run and maintain
I won't tell you what to buy. If you know how to work with rotary engines, do it.
RX7's are amazing cars. But there are reasons why the engine format isn't used much anymore

Engine is hard to federalize and meet fuel economy standards.
Otherwise it's hard to beat the power to size.
Right now a FC RX7 is your best bet imo.

I tried to go into forwards while rolling backwards today
I was turning around a tractor (pretty small one) on a gravel road and found out the brakes were bad when I dipped one wheel off the shoulder and it started rolling back into the ditch

As long as the car can't drive on its own on a thin road without markings,without a GPS or GLONASS and determine its speed based on the surroundings such as propability of wild life crossing and if it can drive off the road when someone coming from the other side, during winter on its own, im not going to trust it.
Because thats about 1/3rd of the entire infrastructure im driving on. No mobile communications, no road signs or markings.
So it could use GLONASS eventually though with a direct link to satellites...
