But yes I see no B-pillar
Driver side regular door
Basically the Hyundai Veloster setup
Ah yes Veloster hinges to the front in the rear
My bad
But still, same concept no? 1 door driver side, 2 doors passenger side
Ah yes fair enough
Oof never seen it like that
But more pick-ups are like that no?
Although they always have it both sides, the Fiat only 1 iirc
What is this and should I open it?
For context it's on the dashboard of a Ford escape
It did not, they were still using manual control for the AC
Did a quick Google search, the limited version had automatic headlights
I wonder if the wiring is in place to convert it?
I'm not finding a light sensor at AutoZone for the escape though
Light sensor is usually near the mirror no
Yes
Also needs a special windshield usually
found one on ebay
could I use one from an f150 though? there seems to be a surplus of those floating around
but yeah, assuming the wiring is in place all i need now is the right headlight lever
nice
£95 extra for 2hp :^|

Rear should be about the same heigh to what I currently have. But with stuff actually meant for that height.
One of my new neighbours has a cool car
Toyota Mark II Blit, it's a JDM import and likely has a 1JZ. Haven't met them yet but I will soon probably
front shows some link to mc10 which i like
I thought that was a caddy at first lmao
is it lowered?
Can people send me pictures of cars I will try to make in nfs studio? Send picture of a 180sx (can't have a racing livery) front and rear pictures needed
That's just a single car.
i know im going down the list and thats the first one

Lol that interior is exactly an Opel Adam
I’ve seen two articles list the newly announced Golf wagon as 12 inches longer than the current one
And then list measurements that are just 2 inches longer...
66mm is apparently the true difference. What noobs
I’ve seen two articles list the newly announced Golf wagon as 12 inches longer than the current one
@eager grove 12 inches is compared to the Mk8 hatchback
Also they did cut many corners to lower the production costs compared to the Mk7.5
Oof
@stoic ledge that must be what it is, but not what they said
VW's new ID.3 electric car harshly criticized by Germany's leading test publication
Oof
Pre production samples?
Perhaps, but there are a lot of issues
That’s a big oof
The range is better than most manufacturers but still disappointing for the price
Was not planning to do wheel bearings today
Luckily I had a spare set here for this exact situation
Buddy had a test drive in the ID.3, I went to check it out
WOB plate as all demo's are registered in Germany
This exact one will be used for the EuroNCAP tests after the test drives are done
You could really notice they saved on basically everything to create a car with appealing specs on paper for a good price
do the rust particles give the drum brakes extra grip
How do you mean saved on everything? Lotta cheap plastic?
Could be cheap feeling switchgear and buttons
Yeah materials everywhere, switchgear was horrible as well (windows don't have seperate rear buttons, mirrors rotate/select things unwanted, touch sensitive steeringwheel is horribe, so are all other touch sensitive controls for lights/HVAC)... all was done to save money... Combined with a screen which doesn't always work, menu's which make no sense...
Voice control was slow AF
But mainly the used materials felt like a budget car
oof what's that ugly bast**d
it looks like a citroen lol
the side view mainly
it makes me think of the C4 spacetourer
with a bit of c3
and the new golf.. heh
same for the new class A (didn't like the previous one but the "new" one is worse) and the 1 series
f*ck modern cars
good night (yes it's night here)
do the rust particles give the drum brakes extra grip
@charred depot no, but rust is lighter than carbon fiber which means reduced unsprung weight, racecar
VW isn't setting any styling standards with the new Golf... but I quite like the ID.3.
Exterior wise at any rate.
Interior... the entire industry is going for billboard screens, and it's become obvious that some automakers do it better, and some worse.
Ford broke down today, took it out onto a motorway and within seconds had issues. In the UK 'smart' motorways no longer have hard shoulders (empty lane for breakdowns) and so had no choice but to limp off at the next junction which it barely made it to. Actually a scary place to be, considering many fatalities caused by cars breaking down in live lanes.
No clue why your country did away with shoulders.
You can't crawl anywhere if you lost a wheel.
Or your engine shits itself.
Or cataclysmic ECU failure.
The engine basically died. Went into limp home mode, but kept cutting out. Was crawling along at 40mph
if I wanted a billboard in my car, I'd have a van and went to steal one from the side of the highway lol
Toyota's isn't great
Really wasn't fun, hazards on and lorries overtaking. I kept the throttle down too long it seems joining the motorway. I rarely floor it so probably surprised it
Literally the mechanic repaired it at the road side by resetting the ECU and cleaning a butterfly valve that had seized closed, then it ran perfectly all the way home
But before that, I thought I had blown up the engine as it was tapping and sounded more like a tractor
its common on the Prius too from what I hear
Oof
the tapping was probably from minimal airflow
Don't think it was a throttle plate, this is a common rail diesel
Your go pedal didn't
But it's a butterfly valve after the turbo, so to do with air flow still
ah
But from now on I'm staying clear of the latter half of the rpm dial lol
Which tbh on a diesel I didn't need to rev it like I did. 3k rpm is when the power is peak anyway, 3.5k caused the problem
Red line is then at 4.5k so a bit close imo
diesels hate revving out
they make power low
gas motors will rev out, but they also make power higher up
3k is the best place the shift for most power, 4k is being adventurous and pointless and 5k is the 'money shift'
Prius be like: "what's shifting?"
RX-7 be like: "why are we not at redline"
My car isn't fast, but up hill it accelerates faster than any petrol I've had in the past. Diesel just produces soo much more torque
yea, I bet
my RX-7 is weird. It sounds and feels like its going to fall apart when you get past 5k rpm, but its a rotary and it likes doing it
68bhp ford Vs 120bhp petrol BMW. Uphill I was faster, but on a flat the BMW any day
but it has uber exhaust leak, so I bet that's why it sounds so ass at high rpm
Already know the leaks cause the exhaust to vibrate the whole car
Rotary engines are great before they need a rebuild. Probably one of the best engines I've driven, but would never like to own one
My car has never had an engine problem. Its always fuel, ignition, or rear brakes lmfao
carb rotary is reliable af
I'd say ignition is an "engine problem"
@fathom socket Yeah all previous stuff was resolved a while ago. Today was a new fault, unrelated to old stuff
hmm
My car is perpetually a bit down on power, but she pulls no matter what.
could be an EGR valve thing but thats just my experience with ford Diesels
Nothing seems wrong with it since it was repaired on the roadside today with recovery, but I'm still gonna check it all out tomorrow regardless
I also got the list of codes their machine logged so will work through them one by one
Also probably get it checked out by a third party mechanic incase I've missed anything obvious
Oh and the EGR, I know. They are nightmares, this one was replaced yet again but with a genuine part this time as part of the resolution for the old issues
https://youtu.be/tr8Zwv9zMVY?t=58 So anytime I was in gear and moving my foot was flat to the floor. That's how low it was on power and random judders and almost like misfires. Also the sound, sounds very much like it had blown up
ye that is defo not a happy diesel

Yikes that sounds really bad
Sounds like a diesel
hi mk, so it sounds like you, you mean?

I have achieved comedy
anyway, i've been looking at these cheapo caddies from the early 2000s
900-1.2k usd
Yikes that sounds really bad
@stoic ledge Sounds like Linus dropped it
What kind of car is it?
Get a Peugeot Partner, those are indestructible
Or did you mean a Cadillac
Or a VW Caddy?

But you're not 'murican
Is it.... The Northstar V8?
This looks nice
it's teh northstar

@fossil pagoda looks like they left it in primer and forgot the paint

ABS/brakes/traction control lights are on (not sure why), leaks oil (synthetic) & transmission fluid. Needs engine work (replace torque converter, air injector reactor pump, new spark plugs & likely some other items) to pass emissions before April 2021.
That's why it's cheap probably

@fossil pagoda except literally no Caddy looks like that lol

They all look like this, white with non-painted bumpers, doorhandles, preferably manual windows and no AC
heh
Looks like the van a liquor delivery company would use
Don't think I've ever seen a liquor delivery van

It has a hole in the dash on the passenger side "for storage", with passenger airbag it doesn't
I really want the I.D. Buzz
You press VW logo on steeringwheel and it goes inside dashboard entering autopilot
Meet the future electric concept vehicles that VW has debuted at auto shows around the world. This includes the ID.4 and, of course, ID. BUZZ.
I.D. Buzz was revealed years ago
Yes
Looks like VW did away with the CC and now makes "Arteon"
The fastback-designed Volkswagen Arteon comes standard with a 2.0L turbocharged engine, 8-speed automatic transmission, and adaptive chassis control.
the lucid air production version was unveiled
Might also be the next Transporter, idk
that's an EV I'd buy

Yeah that one sucks lol

for a good vehicle
Better of getting one of the PSA e-Vans
ain't that right?
MK blocked BillNyeTheCommieSpy
Assume it's more like 60 miles in summer, 40 miles in winter
that's really not much
how is 82 mile range (in a perfect scenario) even useful
In city deliveries only
MK blocked BillNyeTheCommieSpy
@stoic ledge QQ
Uhm tested with a standard load for commercial vehicles, idk how much that is
but it is tested with a load?
There is some load
ok
https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/820268159/overview/?aff=atempest&cmp=atempest&utm_source=AutoTempest&utm_medium=TRP&utm_campaign=atempest less depressing that that PT cruiser

doesn't say much
was gonna say once you fill it with stuff if that's tested with nothing in it, oh boy you'll get like 15 miles
lol
Yes buy that, It comes with pre-installed stickers. Those add 5hp each. So does the wrong colored door
wait, nevermind, this is infinitely better

the Air reminds me of something though and i can't place exactly what
Iirc the e-Transporter has like the e-Golf powertrain cramped in a Transporter Van
That rear looks like a Porsche Panamera lol
sort of?
I think it looks really good except for the trunk body panel gap
that looks dumb

Idk need to see the Lucid Air irl
well hopefully they sell lots of them
because falcon would buy one given the opportunity
(heavily depreciated of course)

seems like Lucid Air is tesla but better
Lol
like from what it looks like, they're actually paying attention to quality and interior materials and stuff
not "meh plastic is fine"
Not that hard
in all fairness, the model 3 interior isn't bad
but the S/X interior is trash for the price point they're at
200 miles of range does the e-Expert have (and it's Citroen/Opel/Toyota sibblings)
That's much more usable
200 miles better
than 82
bc 82 in ideal conditions = barely usable range even for city deliveries
Iirc it's even cheaper than the VW

What's the best VW to get?
a toyota
Just get the V8
they made V8 Phaetons
I want an economy car
but for serious don't get a phaeton unless you want to be driven into the poor house
Jetta = Mexican, Golf = German
I want an economy car
Depending on where you're from, get a Corolla
if you want an economy car why not the new Corolla hatch?
It's actually really quite decent
and looks nice
@dense shard has one
And with the hybrid is does 300000MPG
You have something against Adolf Hitler?
well
🤔
but i also have something against unreliable cars lmao

VW is not unreliable
at least with a toyota you have a reasonable expectation of it starting when you turn the key
Yes it is
I have a 2004 Jetta with 177k and it's still going
that's very different than modern vws
^
I don't want a brand new car...
The Jetta after that Jetta is horrible
anything from VW within the last 10 years is going to cost lots of $$ to maintain
like, lots
MKV Jetta is trash
Touareg is the correct spelling
ok thanks
Best VW is a home-conversion EV Passat
This video is an overview of the electric vehicle conversion I did on my 2001 VW Passat. I'm using a 90kw Siemens AC induction motor and a drive inverter I built myself.
You can read more about this conversion at http://etischer.com/awdev

That engine bay...
@devout atlas those are quite reliable iirc
@stoic ledge yeah, they are, and got good interiors too
but v6 and fwd
is bleugh
that's crown vic (220 hp v8, rwd) territory
vics and marquis' got shit interior, though
are they common in europe yet?
@indigo coral they're increasingly more common yes
that's crown vic (220 hp v8, rwd) territory
@devout atlas same HP, more fuel consumption
yes
the police interceptors bump that up to 250 though
are they common in europe yet?
@indigo coral 10-13% of new sales are EV in 🇳🇱, I think Norway or Sweden even more, the other countries probably not as much
Used 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis GS for sale at Retek Auto Sales, Inc. in McHenry, IL for $999. View now on Cars.com.
like this one
250hp from a 4.6 V8, wow
also, the 4.6 modular is truly bulletproof
250hp from a 4.6 V8, wow
@stoic ledge murican understressed engine
did you know that the koegnigsegg 4.7 V8 is actually a 4.6 ford modular?
the DOHC version
it made 800 something horsepowurs

it made a bunch in a bunch of cars
MG X-Power
I really like how he adapted the 5-speed to the electric motor and he shifts without a clutch
that's only the 4 valve DOHC vee eide modurr
Yeah that's quite nice
Rover 75 V8
it be in an aston doe
yep, it was in the 75 v8
that's why I like the rover 75
v8
Buy it
Bruh
Yes
no thanks, rust-stang better

VW AWP engine is nice
EcoBoost
What car?
both of you
I'm from United States. We don't have Opel, Peugeot, SEAT, Skoda, Citroen
Only euro cars we have are Lamborghini, Bugatti, VW, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Fiat, Mini that I remember off the top of my head
Lamborghini, Bugatti, VW, Audi, Bentley are all owned by VW
Some Opel's were sold as Saturn's and later Buicks
I've been to Landstuhl, Germany once and took a 2 hour train ride to Paris on the same trip. Visited Christmas holiday 2015.
But not the one I have, Corsa (Fiesta size) is too small for 'Murica
lol
Apparently Texas(where I live now) doesn't have as many imported cars as Connecticut(where I used to live)
Connecticut has loads of Honda's, VW's Mercedes', Audi's. Texas has more American cars and used cars go for more money
Most euro cars are manuals
I like driving manual transmission
Anti-theft device*
Most people in the United States drive automatic lol
Even cops that pulled me over in Connecticut said "I know how to drive manual" but they really don't so they call for backup to drive it XD
Putting a VW in reverse is different than a Mustang lol
They try to go right then back with the shifter for reverse in my VW XD
Thinking it's a Lancer
What is it? All the way left and forward but you gotta pull up the ring
or push it down?
For VW you push down then move it like you're going into 1st
Subaru has the ring iirc
Yea it's different for quite a few cars :p
I'm basically the very small minority of people that drives a manual VW pretty nice in the United States. I learned on a '99 2.0 8 valve Jetta, now I drive a '04 1.8T 20 valve Jetta.
Learned when I was 18. Still drive manual at 23
I almost drove my buddies Lancer back in Connecticut but it needed a ton of work XD
Mitsubishi is one of the worst cars
Jettas are the most common though right?
Brand new axel broke on him, brand new tires pop every week XD
Jetta's are more common in the U.S. kinda like how the Golf is more common in Europe
Do they drive reckless like Honda drivers?
Well, they can barely look over the steering wheel.
and just suck at driving in general.
XD
Everybody in my family has a manual except my grandpa, who at age 85 got his first automatic
Most of U.S. drives automatic XD
People texting and driving so much that I believe they should drive manual
It keeps me busy and my eyes on the road more
So they got something on their mind haha
texting and driving
A lot of people in the U.S. text and drive
They can all drive themselves in to a wall
I hate it because I slam on my breaks at least once a week to save my car from being smashed
VW's have really nice breaks, let me tell you
6 piston front, 4 piston rear
ceramic pads
I have drums in the rear
I get the good break pads but shitty tires
But then again, my car weighs nothing
My '99 2.0 8v petrol had drums in the rear
And brand new tires from this week
I've been driving on the same tires I got new in November
I need to rotate them or get new ones lol
Anti theft device 👌🏻
Hell yeah

Honestly it amazes me how many don't know how to change a wheel, or even check the fucking oil
I even see Mustang's and Corvette's with automatic and I'm like:

Mustangs are dangerous if they press the gas pedal in, gotta
I know people in Connecticut that would be willing to throw away their car and buy a new one when the car needs a single oxygen sensor
Makes me cringe so much when they could save thousands of USD by buying a cheap sensor
Honestly it amazes me how many don't know how to change a wheel, or even check the fucking oil :keklaugh:
I can but I'm too lazy
Although oil I check regularly, but it's no modern VW so it doesn't use any oil
Someone bought a Passat v6 to copy the Jetta I had or something. He kept calling me every day saying "Our Jetta's are fast" and I'm like "You told me you bought a Passat"

He literally had a Passat and called it a Jetta lol

Then he was going to clubs showing random girls my facebook account so I got random friend requests
I stopped hanging out with him, he was super sketchy

He was pretending to be me for some reason

I stopped hanging out with him, he was super sketchy
probably better.
I grew up in middle class suburb and moving into my grandparent's house in the middle of the ghetto south end of Bridgeport, Connecticut is way different
That's why I moved to Texas where my dad was
People kept messing with me, I was almost robbed, etc
Everything is bigger in texas right :p
Actually yes
You can have a truck lifted really high without getting any tickets
A large fry from the gas station Buc-ee's is larger AND cheaper than McDonald's AND tastes like real potato
High lifted trucks look like shit imo
$1.95 for a large fry and they give you like 1.5-2 liters of fries compared to McDonald's charging $3-4 for a large fry that's not even 1/2 of that and is too crunchy, too salty, doesn't taste like real potato
I don't like lifted trucks but people daily drive in their work trucks a lot
Loads of Mustang's here too

Some have a loud exhaust but they drive like 2 inches sounding like they're racing but only at like 2k rpm
V8 Mustangs are (converted) 130k USD here so there are non of them
I can make my truck lifted. At least on the rear.
I think a brand new Mustang here in Texas is like $60k USD max, maybe cheaper
Most people drive petrol engines
According to the Ford website way less than 60k USD
I'm talking about a basr GT, no fancy trim or anything
TDI VW are not as popular in the U.S. as they are in Europe
a new GT is like 35k
I was probably thinking $60k because I was looking at Dodge Charger a few years back
Ecoboost is like 25-27k
Both can generally be had for even less with dealer incentives
Particularly the ecoboost
I don't want an American car even though the expensive sports cars are more appealing since they're more reliable
Chevy makes one of the worst compact cars
I'm partial to Lexus myself but I'm biased
Chevy makes better trucks but even then, Ford is kind of pickup trucks.
Lexus is reliable
My dream car is a GS F
Lexus is toyota iirc
That makes Acura, Honda then
Infiniti, Nissan, Fiat, Mini, Chevy, Ford make crappy compacts sold in the US..
I wish VW was more like they were back in 2004

VW is really trying to save on everything nowadays
@stoic ledge Waht country?
🇳🇱
🇳🇱
Oh, ok
I know nothing about Netherlands other than you can smoke weed at some coffee shops
LMFAO
They have crazy taxes on cars
But true
Do they just smoke weed or do they mostly smoke spliffs?
And high taxes on everything else
They have crazy taxes on cars
On everything*
Yes
Do they just smoke weed or do they mostly smoke spliffs?
@fossil pagoda I have no idea tbh
lol
I've never said a foot inside, never smoked or taken anything
I know rolling tobacco is more popular in Europe vs U.S.
Yes Mustang GT is like €110k
Or €115k for the convertible
EcoBoost is a bit cheaper, starting at a mere €70k

oh is that all

Really
It's like 45k for GS F and 50k for LC on the used market for 2016 and 2018 respectively

LC 500 is around $92-93k USD in the U.S.
€45k gets you a nicely equiped new VW Golf 1.0 TSI
Yeah, brand new

Ok no for for 45k you can probably spec the 1.5 TSI
Less than 1L
Ford is 1.0
2020 Jetta switch to only 1.4T
Renault/Dacia has a 0.9 TCe
1.4 TSI is the old engine, Europe replaced it to the 1.5 TSI years ago
U.S. doesn't have anything smaller than 1.0 and I think the Ford Fiesta has a 1.0 turbocharged
Yeah smallest Ford Engine is the 1.0 EcoBoost
VW diesel engines in U.S. are 1.9 or 2.0
We have it in the Fiesta, Focus and Mondeo (Fusion)
VW diesel in Europe ranged from 1.2 TDI to, idk, a lot for the Touareg V10
Europe had the Mondeo for decades
idk how y'all have any fun in those little econo-shitboxes like the Up! Or the Micra or whatever
Touareg has V10 in U.S. too
Fusion and Mondeo used to be separate, but with One Ford the Fusion and Mondeo were the same
VW Up! is a nice little car but too small for me lol, looks like the size of smart.
I think the smallest VW that the US gets is the GTI right?
up! GTI can be fun. 1.0 TSI 115hp, 850kg
Is the Polo more popular than the Golf in Netherlands?
Yes
midsize sedan in the wild
That's how small their cars arem
Are
A midsize sedan barely fits
Something like a Golf is a true family car here
I noticed hatchbacks are very popular in Europe
The ES is a nice car but very boring
Yes hatchback more practical
GS > ES
Sorry I didn't enlarge the image lol
Yes they did
Suzuki Kizashi
Quite cool
Too bad they had a CVT 💩
It basically was FWD manual or CVT AWD
And you could pick a color
British people call sedan, saloon
But if you say saloon in the U.S. they will think you're talking about a pub a.k.a. bar
Kinda like Chinese(mandarin) and Chinese(simplified)

The Europeans made a mistake becoming rebels of Europe when they decided to fight the native Indians in the U.S. XD
Christopher Columbus changed the language trying to be a rebel and probably gave up and just used the rest of the British English with his own words XD
Maybe he was lazy and that's why most of the U.S. is lazy jk
XD
Imagine he was Dutch, you'd all be high as kites and driving tiny ass cars
We already drive while smoking weed, we just need the Fiat 500 everywhere like France to turn into a Pixar movie

Just need to record ourselves driving while inhaling helium then sell ourselves to Pixar or Disney
Oh wait, Disney will make me sign a form selling my soul
I've seen so many Fiat's in Paris
(2hrs from Landstuhl, Germany)
Paris is really nice
My hotel was in front of the football field
To the right of my balcony was the eiffel tower

I said football for you Europeans to understand. We call it soccer in the U.S.
I've been 2 France 2 times: 1 time with school for a field trip, the other time I went through it going to the UK with the EuroStar (train). That's it
Soccer
I took Telekom Ice
ICE ICE BABY
Lots of nice people in France
On the train, they told us not to have our wallet in our back pocket because people will steal.
The French refuse to speak anything but France. Even when they're not in France
Lol
French
Mi bad

I'm trying to type something while also doing other things at the same time
That usually results in some derp moments
lol
It happens to me too
Sometimes I type a completely wrong word because I think of something else while typing
I like people in Europe because they're really nice and have an awesome sense of humor
I would seriously consider visiting Germany and Paris again
I like having friends that make me laugh
I could always use a good laugh
Makes me feel really good inside when I laugh for some reason
Just the act of laughing brings my spirits up
VW is still reliable for me when people don't disrespect my car
My mistake for letting someone who doesn't know how to drive, drive it and ruining the clutch
I need that way of thinking
Well I worked hard for all stuff I own and I take very well care for it
Others usually don't
So then it's quite simple tbh
I hate it when I didn't know things that simple before, but it's super easy to understand.
Ikr
But when you have nice things... People will just steal it

looks at brothers BMW
Or rather the lack of it

BMW has terrible reliability in the U.S.
I would never buy a BMW or Mercedes
Only European cars I'll ever buy would be VW, Audi, or Bentley
I also hate it when people say "You should have bought the 5 doors instead of the 3 door, it's easier for passengers to get in"... Like no? I bought the car for me, not for you, you can be happy to get a ride or you can walk
I'd never buy a VW or Audi, I'd rather get a BMW or Mercedes
Especially BMW, I don't really care for Mercedes
But BMW's drive very well
BMW's may drive very well but in the U.S. they don't have a dip stick to check oil anymore
They always have electrical issues too
Yeah true, the E91 also had an electronic dip stick
But so do more cars tho
Modern Volvo's don't have one either
I hope all cars don't go that route
I want to change my own oil without dealer charging me a fortune
You don't have to change the oil via a dip stick

Idk the Volvo one is very fast, like instant. BMW took literally minutes
The dip stick lets you know how much oil is in it and you could feel metal shavings in it if the internals are messed up
Why does VW use Beats audio system in the 2020 GLI???
I hate Beats
But I'll cook and eat beets
Yes it's not a good system either
Their DynAudio system is better
But the Beats system is probably cheap + has a hip/fancy name
lol
omg beats just like my overpriced hipster headphones, I want it
VW cars aren't that great, VW is mostly great at marketing nowadays
I remember when the Beats Solo came out. People in my secondary school(we call it high school in U.S.) wearing different colored beats. Meanwhile I was wearing Sennheiser HD 598
Nobody looked at my more expensive headphones while they were all over the people with beats trying to wear them at lunch
I just blast it through speaker since I dislike headphones
But those Solo's were 100% shite
Nobody noticed the large 1/4"(6.3mm) coming from my phone
I wore the Beats Solo's once and the bass was overpowering distorting the sound from an iPhone
Someone told me "You have to blast this song"
I don't really like listening to loud music even though I have an OP headphone amplifier for home use
Schiit Magni 2 high gain
Never above 1/4 volume

Enough to create permanent damage
Exactly
You could use them as desktop speaker replacements but they're 50 ohm and just 50mm drivers
I'll blow them out with this amp, especially at high gain

My amp is like +3dB low gain and +14dB high gain(output 8VA)
Idk it was like €150, fine for now until I've finished my studies
Or it must break, then I'll get a Harmon Kardon set probably
But for now it's fine
I have a Harmon Kardon set in the living room, it's
(now also joint-venture with JBL iirc)
(and Samsung which is 💩 )
All our A/V stuff was Philips here (TVs, DVD player, radios, VCR, ...) so getting a Philips home cinema system made sense at the time xD
Philips is good

My dad has old philips 2.0 bookshelf speakers with CD player amp
Harman Kardon is from South Korea
Korea also manufactures Kia
Yes good cars
Bang and Olufsen is Denmark
Kia in the U.S. is not that great
Kia has defective seatbelt and airbag sensors and their Theta II GDI engines seize
I want to stick with German cars for the rest of my life
I hear Ford is working with VW to make Pickup trucks and work vans with better transmissions
It's 4:46 a.m. here I should get to bed
I hear Ford is working with VW to make Pickup trucks and work vans with better transmissions
@fossil pagoda maybe VW can create a pick-up truck with a low-range gearbox unlike the Amarok
It's 4:46 a.m. here I should get to bed
@fossil pagoda goodnight
Really hope the new Golf all track
Has a petrol option in the Uk
I’d kill for one, but they’re all diesels here
According to me, it’s the perfect car
Quick, nice inside, fuel efficient, lots of space for people and especially things, fun to drive, 4WD and ground clearance to run in snow or ice or crappy roads or the odd field
Idk in Europe those All Tracks are mostly sold in like the mountains in Germany snd Austria etc, most people there drive diesels
So they probably will only make a diesel version of it for Europe
If they'll even make one, they'd rather sell you a CUV thing probably 💩
Also: wasn't the Mk7 Alltrack also available with a 1.8 TSI?
Which was the only Golf in Europe with the 1.8 TSI
Maserati
Yeah I forgot what it was called
Hybrid ftw
👀
I'm glad to see they got ZF to make that instead of trying something themselves
MC20 BEV sneak peek.
@turbid onyx but the MC20 has been officially released no?
Or atleast revealed
Ah first the EV Gran Turismo, then the EV MC20
MC20 first as gas
@stoic ledge Not in the UK - had the 1.8TSI in Australia and the US and potentially Europe, but we only had the diesel
OOF
I saw an Aussie important on autotrader once, wish I'd had the money
it only had 20k miles on it and they were selling it for less than £12k
they'd even chipped it up to 212 bhp as well
It was a 2016
Missing AC
MC20 has been revealed in its ICE form, and they gave a sneak peek of the BEV version in form of that chassis
@turbid onyx yeah realised that later xD
my car turned out to be too reiable for it's age and milage
👀
@fathom socket My dad used to have a 1970 Ford Fairlane.
(same car btw) @fossil pagoda
My dad was saying it looks similar
Look at this thing
I'm looking at getting an air cooled Beetle right now, if I do I'm going to run a 1600 dual port with a turbo
I want to do a draw-through carb setup with twin flatslide Mikunis, just because I can
people use weber DCOEs in similar setups so it should work fine
I know these carbs are reliable in cold climates since they were really common on snowmobiles, and I plan to drive it year round so that's important
Luis Rodriguez has a new build
Why not. It worked for Porsche.
Rumors the 996 Turbo was just an aircooled motor with a water jacket.
People turbo Beetles all the time lol
Spins 1,2, and 3rd gear on 205/75/15 street tires with 19psi in the tires and 18 psi boost. Stock 1600dp.
this guy is running 18psi on a stock engine
I plan to run like 8psi lol
he didn't even rebuild the engine, just shoved 18 psi at it
the secret to that kind of boost on a stock engine is water meth
with 91 octane I wouldn't want to run more than like 10 psi otherwise
Would you call the bmw 4.4l v8 the European 5.4 triton?
From a reliability standpoint
nah.
Triton takes special care to not utterly ruin, but you can avoid headaches.
There are no preventative measures for the 4.4 from what I remember.... besides going for the Inline 6.
I haven't seen a 5.4 without lifter tick in probably 10 years
5.4 is garbage

Yeah. Being 16 meant you had the fastest car ever.
I want a trabant 601 s just so I can engine swap it for something mean
It'll prolly fly apart.
boi
It's an East German car that was powered by a lawnmower engine, featured a body enforced with cotton, and was outdated when it was released.
#cars message that looks like lambo urus
bold of you to assume it could take any engine other than a lawnmower
It wasn't a lawnmower engine actually. It was the thing that drove the water pump in a fire truck.
Trabant ran on a water pump.
The first step in an engine build is the teardown. Let's see what we have to work with on our mission to make 1000HP.
Episode 2 - 1,000 HP engine parts: https://youtu.be/E0K2aoEwgV8
Episode 3 - Assembly: https://youtu.be/eT8ZRb1Out8
Episode 4 - Dyno Test: https://youtu.be/Wzg...
tl;dr: no worse than the 2JZ.
Only real questionable decision would be timing chain on the back... then again the chains are supposed to be lifetime.
the chain may last, the tensioners do not
also yeah that's the engine in the Rockstar FD Supra right now I'm pretty sure, they hit their 1000hp goal
They have positives and negatives.
BMW Isseta 👀
Where the Beamer gang at?
@flint sable you got the v8 In that bad boy?
Yes
Good man, good man
V8 Beamer Gang
Yours stock?
Also we have the same wheels lol
Yeah
Same rims
I like them too
Nice lol
Sticker price was like 110, and we got it for 22
Mine got bigger turbos and coolers, 600 to the wheels
I got mine for sticker price, 144
Sweet
How many miles?
115k
Yeah
And here I have nothing but a humble 320i
Ever tried maxing it out?
We traded in a fiesta on it
Fastest I got it was 296kmph
Wow
We have quite a menagerie of cars, this is our only BMW and probably won’t be our last
I have a lot of cars too lol
Any Porsche’s?
Damn
Ahh ok
This Porsche is an us import and was abandoned
I can pick it up when I have the space for if
That reminded me. The 996 is pretty affordable now.
Dusty
And it's also the ugly duckling.
They also have this standing there
Love those wheels
The interior for the 996 is just a bit lacking.
I could have gotten so many other nice cars if I didn’t get that one lambo lol
But I wanted something as an statement, and nothing can do that better than a Lamborghini
I got a neighbor who has 3 white Porsche’s and one blacked out Range Rover
Which model of Lamborghini?
Yep
And needs to have the typical scissor doors or as everybody calls them „lambo doors“
I’ve seen a black murcielago drive around our town for a bit now, no clue who it belongs to but it looks really good
My fav is probably the murcielago sv manual
Sadly only 6 were made with 5 remaining
I’d also have liked to get an aventador Sv, the 2016 one, but that would have been 200k more
What color did you get yours in
I like the bodykit of the Sv more than the one of the svj
Pearl White
Got it not too long ago, like in March iirc
Mm
Completely stock, actually not too loud
Do they still have draco verde as an option?
