Because it's still a good car to daily.
OOF
It's that or a ... actually I can't think of anything better from that era.
Volvo of some variety?
Meh, a 240 would be cool I guess
my 97' passat's got AC though xDD
My 99 RX still has excellent AC
Can't really do that with most other cars.
My 2011 Corsa still has excellent AC

I'll go to Ukraine in my 97' passat if i get any time frre of work welp...
it's been kind of a dream for me ever since talking with some Ukrainian immigrants to go there for a trip
OOF
Let's all buy BMW's and challenge Jake to a race.
Person with the most parts still attached to the car win.
Oh and winner gets to keep the bits that fall off.
The whole BMW's are unreliable meme is blown out of proportion
I've once seen one Romanian plates lada, completely covered by rust in my city, i'm full of respect t ithat dude going through the half of Europe in 30 YO car covered by rust in the middle of summer (no AC obviously)
The new new ones are supposed to have fixed the issues.
You can't expect an automaker like Nissan and BMW to be happy with their meme. Both seem to have worked towards fixing issues.
Are there any good memes about toyota?
Kilmer
Yes. I drive a corolla and I am in a sorority.
Toyotas are the boring person's car.
Corollas are fucking boring as hell is a meme that's gotten a bit stale.
Then again we're still on the first model year of the new generation.
As many times as I've heard Polish jokes.

Here's one you haven't heard.
btw, is dat true there where some 3 series without blinkers or is that an urban legend? xD
bmws don't have blinkers
Luxury car drivers tend to be dicks.
If I had a dollar for every BMW turnsignal I've seen, I could buy a 1 dollar burger
It's more of an Audi/Mercedes thing these days.
calling BMW luxary.. laughing to the tune to the ode to joy xDD πͺπΊ
I mean... I'll be honest. I'm more worried around SUVs than I am around BMW drivers.
Cause they can at least fucking check their blind spots.
I've seen enough.
twice on i5 I've seen people come wayyyy too close to tipping over in old Suburbans or Expeditions and stuff
like
so damn close
Also don't at me, but I think the X2 looks kinda good.
bmw x2?
@dense shard
The FWD crossover thing.

It's alright
It looks better than the X1 and X3.
looks better than x1 for sure
the problem with BMW is that u can't gen any 2nd hand BMW in a good shape, you just can't
all of them are beaten up to death
that's why you buy a used Lexus
You can, until they get stolen
they last forever
My RX is 22 years old and going strong af
It does depend on what you want.
it's boring but reliable
A second hand 3 series might be beaten on pretty severely. Blame the owners.
A second hand 5 series should be fine.
if you want a car that's been babied, get a Lexus ES
those are bought by people who actually care
Old people who do oil changes every 3000 miles.
because there's no "it's cool" aspect attached to them
"But that's what my husband says."
That's kinda the nice thing about Lexus... even their "cool" cars end up bought by old people π€£
Old people who do oil changes every 3000 miles.
@dense shard falcon = old confirmed
I do every 5k
I've been watching for a newer RX though, and holy shit they have crazy miles
I keep seeing them well beyond 200k
I am acting like an old person.

I do plan on keeping up with 5k oil change intervals.
@stoic ledge you know what I should do
I'm still leery of 10k oil changes. lol
Yes, do it
@dense shard not really, my dad has been in car biz for 30 years and getting a good shape BMW 3/5/7 is a miracle π€· the same goes for audi a4, a8 and especially a3 (that I have always wanted..) so in the end i've settled with an "unwanted" passat b5 as it was easy to get one in a good shape
Define good shape.
This one was mint tho π₯
VW products do wear poorly, I'll admit.
below 200k km of real milage, no rust, all mechanicaly fine
So look for one that just got off lease.
real mileage? like not rolled back?
They're super common in the US.
@indigo coral yup
..is rolling back common where you live?
it used to be in Europe
Poland*
It's not really common in the US last I checked.
Or Eastern Germany
my state you have to provide yearly odo statements to your insurance who forwards it to the state
and its a crime not to

Well technically you can roll it back between those statements
yup
Alabama does not.
you can but its not really worth jail time
lool
it's rare for cars to be rolled back here
honestly is cheaper.
lol can u really go to jail for sth like this though? xD
yes
Most modern cars can't even be rolled back I think
Tampering with odometer is a federal offence.
but anyway, any good car mechanic can tell if the milage is real, i mean the wear is visible eitherway
the thing i totally love in Germany is that they don't cheat when selling cars too bad it is not always the case in other states
just drive backwards for 40k miles
Works for Soviet era cars.
the thin i totally love in German is that they don't cheat when selling cars too bad it is not always the case in other states
@drowsy kernel thonk Germany is know for rolling back odometers
I'd take it over a Tesla easy.
I've gotten my car from friend in Lipzig eitherway π€·
Meh idk I've seen them in a country west from Germany too often rolled back
Polestar > Tesla by 393929x
i've gotten tired of looking through 2nd hand listings and ended up getting one from a friend who has had if since it was brand new π€·
I know it's not the range, or EV infrastructure.
But the styling and quality is excellent.
there is no infrastucture for EVs, they have barely any range and gas (I mean real gas not benzine) is so cheap that it makes EVs irrelevantfor now
tesla has the supercharger network in the US
which unfortunately makes them the only viable EVs
and I refuse to buy a tesla
the cars are nice, but the company is horrible
in the US.. US only
in ol' good Europe gas is still the cheapest option
some love diesels too
mainly farmers who got supsidised diesel fuel xD
uk has pretty good ev infastructure
nice!
y'all think gas is cheap
its like 2.40 a gallon rn here
vs like 1.5 euro a liter or whatever
by gas I mean gas yanks use for griilling sousages... yankie gas is called benzine in here and costs 2x the gas
so the gas is like 0.5-0.7β¬ per litter
isnt europe the old continent
nice
Nearly got myself a WRX.
perhaps I should have.
damn theyre some pretty nice nuggets
manual, turbo, AWD... but damn the price got me.
bet theyre tasty
No silly, those are cars
My car might have ingested a few swarms worth over the course of my trip.
My car went trough sandpaper wash
there is no infrastucture for EVs, they have barely any range and gas (I mean real gas not benzine) is so cheap that it makes EVs irrelevantfor now
@drowsy kernel
I wonder what infrastructure do you mean and for what.
Usually u have about 300km range on a mid-range BEV and Tesla Superchargers are a point along highways along other companies who try to build up own infrastructure.
And for everything daily-basis, just a regular power plug (with good wiring to prevent overheat) should be fine to supply enough power for a car.
After all, the power grid was already ready for EVs 50yrs ago when at saturday/sunday noon, most households across the countries started up their electric cooking pots consuming 3kW+ for over one hour, running a 3kW vaccum cleaner for half an hour and such... Power grid management advanced, load balancing too. Wiring got better with Infrastructure..
Cars stay most of their time.
If you charge 10hrs per day at home with lets say 3kW while sleeping, you can get 30kWh in it every day. With an consumption of about 200Wh/km (20kWh/100km), thats 150km to drive per day just by one normal power plug.
Not including transfer/convertion loss to make the point easier
And at least speaking of Germany, I can get a factory-new 4-seater BEV with about 260km range for round about 10 grand.
In Sweden, you don't need to pay tax for getting one, which render them cheaper than in Germany for higher priced ones.
I'm just gonna to get an electric motorcycle
I thought about it... But for smaller vehicles which especially drive fast(er), energy density is more important than on larger, slower vehicles.
And yet batteries do not surpass gasoline fuel tanks in useable energy density per volume.
And since everyone which is 25+yrs old in Germany and own the default B-Class car driving license for 5+yrs is allowed to drive motorcycles by now, I'm thinking about getting a KTM Duke or a Kawasaki Ninja.
Havn't decided yet between team orange and green.
Or I just get myself a quad.
I can drive after 3 year a 125 cc motorcycle
Yeah, but u have to do a seperate license for driving motorcycles
Now I can only drive 50cc with no more than 4kw
With standard b drivers license
I'm gonna to do a2
Ah yeah... AM is a thing. π
Because I need a license to even drive a moped here
I only know about Licenses in Germany^^
Dont know about Poland
I have driven a 4 kw scooter
It want fun
By that I mean even with 4 kw it felt like I was gonna to die
The instant torque on such small vehicle
125cc 11kW π
As electrical bike, 33kWp at 125cc limitation.
Because 11kW limit is meant as sustained specified output, not peak. π
I need a license to be able to drive motorcycles in Switzerland
I can't even drive 50 cc crap here
A lot of people have vespas here
And renault twizies
I would prefer one of them...
I'm Jeremy Clarkson when it comes to motorcycle
Now I'm gonna to have a 15 hour trip back to Poland
When I slept 1 hour
Great
Just great
Just to go back to density for batteries.
Sure batteries can't store as much power, but EVs are vastly more efficient. Remember a car will waste ~60% of the fuel's energy potential.
An EV will use the majority of the power for motion.
Still the fuel density for gasoline cars is higher.
Just by taking the useable energy.
Sure, but EVs aren't that radically far off.
Ultimately. My car's range isn't that much different from what Tesla offers.
I mean, the RX-7 has about as much range as some Teslas. Around 200-250 miles depending on driving. But the big difference comes in that the RX-7 is so much more fun to drive, has better noises, an interior that isn't summed up as an iPad, and can "recharge" in less than 2 minutes rather than 30+ minutes
and no anxiety of having an EV. Sure, range is similar, but with the RX-7 I can rest assured that I will be able to find a station that carries the fuel I need. Also don't have to worry about features being disabled for no reason
and on the other end of the spectrum, the Prius has about as much range as longer range Teslas
Still has a better interior, same thing with refueling and features.
And there's overall cost. Why bother buying a Tesla, even a used one, when I can get similar ranged cars of similar build quality and feature sets for much less
Let's not drag Tesla too much here. A lot of people appreciate the issues.
But say an Audi or Mercedes EV.
I would say the Audi and Merc EVs are in a similar boat
They're legacy automakers. So I don't think they'll remove features randomly.
Higher build quality and better company reputation, but similar throughout the rest
Better build quality to boot.
yea, they won't disable features; but they still are plagued by EV issues
Guys, I have a confession to make.
Charge time.
I want a 1980 Buick Century
long charging times, no guarantee you'll find a charging station, etc
I want a 1980 Buick Century
@fierce gate Go for it. There is no wrong choice when it comes to cars. Long as you can live with the problems it may have, and like what it has to offer, you can't go wrong
Talking about EV adoption? @dense shard
ah I see. I think it will happen in our lifetimes, but not to the extent some people want and over a longer cycle than expected
Charging will likely continue to be a downside for a good while. Any way you look at it, its 10x faster to fill up a car with a large gas tank than it takes to quick charge an EV
The window I keep hearing is 12 years, but even that I think is fantasy
EV infrastructure still is lacking as Eastman said.
I'm sure EV's will take a big chunk of the market by then though.
Tho most people don't really travel longer distances.
So charging at home or gasing up at one station is fine.
oh yeah. The US power grid may literally need an overhaul that has yet to even be discussed or planned seriously
Microgrids.
I think it will start accelerating once gas stations start adding EV "pumps"
I'd invest in any company that starts installing EV charging stalls at any gas station.
Consumer shouldn't need to think about where chargers are. They should just go where they already do (gas stations)
assuming home charging doesn't just become the only thing you need. idk
To be totally fair.
Come to the plains and gas stations become a concern.
They aren't there at every exit like I was used to in the Southeast.
Yea, but you also have to remember that it isn't as big a concern as you think
Back in the day, cars had giant tanks to compensate for low efficiency
now, cars are more efficient
I mean... 12 gallons ain't that big.
what do you get for highway mpg?
What speed?
~70-75
I'm concerned about the lack of service stations and trained technicians more than I am charger availability
Yea, that's actually quite a bit of range
If you don't live in a major hub right now and your tesla needs warranty work it'll be gone for 2 weeks on a rollback
and most people do everything via the warranty or at the dealer.
if I'm driving highway only, I can milk ~500-600 miles out of a single tank in the Prius
That's less an EV issue and more of a Tesla issue.
^
Well yeah. That's one thing that I think the establishment car companies will have a huge advantage with
Audis and such are better about work since you can literally just take it to the dealership you got it from
Much in the same way that charging infrastructure is more of an EV issue than Tesla issue.
Musk isn't experienced in this field. I think he underestimated the value of dealerships. It's not just about selling cars, but distributing parts and service
There's also the issue of local laws forbidding Tesla's model.
Ford etc has spent the last decade training technicians quietly for hybrids. They've slowly been building the infanstructure. Where Tesla tried to do without
You don't need an infrastructure for hybrids.
And Ford's issues remain in QC and products.
Sure you do. Shit breaks and wears down on all cars, even EV's
Training techs not to lick the terminals isn't going to put Ford forward.
And Ford's attempts hinge on a 3rd party.
Some pie in the sky name that doesn't have a good rep.
Nobody is saying that it will put them forward, but that they have a slight advantage in that they already have the locations and technicians in place
also, we're not talking about Ford exclusively but any of the major car companies.
This is the one thing they have that Tesla can't easily replicate.
If Tesla allowed dealerships, they could.
Sure, but they so far seem against the idea.
That's on them.
Sure
I want a 1980 Buick Century
@fierce gate perfectly reasonable
I want to keep the outside mostly stock looking, but restomod the motor and interior.
Nothing crazy high performance, just modernize everything internally. Like a stealthy modern classic
I'd keep it stock
what icon does to bronco's, but land yachts
Engine, transmission.
yeah pretty much in the ballpark I'm thinking @devout atlas
someone has probably done that to a century
nothing too crazy, just a nice headunit, maybe a backup camera
@dense shard
If you want an airbag, get a newer car.
pay to have all the seats re-upholstered
he means like air ride, not air bags for a collision
what, why
idk. bagging is what people call it
that's about it
Yeah, stock springs will be enough.
I knew what you meant
I just want people to see how emaculate it is and think, "but why"
Nothing against air ride, but a Century is already going to be cushy as fuck.
so yeah. "but why"
because buick
could go the opposite route and sport it up
that's a cardinal sin against humanity
maybe not lowered much though. I don't want to have problems getting out of places lol
I'd stick to steel springs.
People are all polite about it in a ferrari, but I think they'll just ram me in a Buick Century
use plastic springs
like a Corvette?
I mean... they were fiberglass I believe.
Ooof
It worked.
Wasn't cheap.
But it was super compact, light weight, and it worked for decades.
mind you
The leaf springs were also the reason the Corvette didn't go mid engined till now.
Leaf spring?
More like.
||Laugh spring||
Alright. Alternator and battery came just now.
I guess that I'm going to first check if it's just a battery issue.
And if that solves it, just send back the alternator.
And welp. Only the alternator arrived...
vroom vroom
I should have noticed it with it only being one parcel, and it weighing 7 kg.
Where as the battery is like 12 kg by itself.
Lol yes
Don't even have a tracking number or anything for the battery...
Was it in stock
It was.

Foorari or MC20?
Alfa parts bin?
That's not a bad thing
ah
We needed an insane maserati
Will it live up to the homologation king mc12?
I don't know what that is
google time
nope
huh
most interesting
^^^^
Stelantis conquered Europe.
France, Germany, UK, Italy, and a few others. Including the US...
Japan less so.
one of my favorite Tesla hypes was, "oh yeah Japan is gonna be a huge market. #2 is our prediction."
8 years later. Japan hasn't embraced Tesla due to... it being American.
Never saw that coming /s
How big of a share does Xbox have in the Japanese market?
February as of this year.
b r u h

It feels so strange watching trucker videos on YouTube.
And they are driving around where you live. Pretty much.
Why wouldn't you? Don't have a license for it?
How tall are you?
Corsa > Polo
I'm ~180 cm, and I've had no issues with smaller cars.
I'm 6ft4 (1m94) and I have plenty of room in my Corsa
For reference. I owned a kei car.
Tall friend of mine owns an old Corolla.
2001, I think it is.
He's a 2+ meter guy.
He have had it for several years. So I take that as a yes.
He runs the seat right to the stoppers.
Well, same tbh
Most seat bases are too short for my taste tho
So I'm a big fan of seats with extendable bases
I'm going to check if I can deal with getting myself a CE license sometime this year, or early next year.

I'm looking for a small model size of cars that I can build, just like the lego cars you can buy and build but something for adults that's made of metal and stuff and doesn't cost way too much, around the 50-100 dollars
do you guys know any companies that sell these stuff
I think this is similar to what I mean, like a kit with parts and then I can build a small sized car
like toy size
He runs the seat right to the stoppers.
@civic spoke im lucky that i dont have to do that im 1.93 and fit pretty nice in my zafira
A Lotus would be fun... too bad I'll never afford more than a Miata.
back is good looking, the front... tesla made it better π
At least the front gets some decent airflow on the Lotus
it's not about the look, it's about the driving
The Tesla just looks like a Lotus.
Looks like a lotus, drives like a turd.
Back when Tesla was still mostly vaporware fighting off bad reviews
Passed a Corolla HB today. The guy driving it kinda
at me when I waved.
It's a Corolla HB kinda thing.
Lol
I kinda appreciate how they didn't come up with a confusing or fancy special name for their hatchback. Literally just called it what it is so consumers know what they're buying. (Unlike Apple, Razer, and Microsoft.)
Though I drive a Crosstrek now, I would love to compare it with a Toyota HB in person.
Anyone knows what car this is ?
It has more lights then my ford
I'd say a Chrysler Grand Voyager
I think the HB was originally mean to be a Scion for the US market. Potentially iM or Auris.
O I didn't notice a cars channel
Well heres my fathers viper, I drive it from time to time
That's the mustang, a bit easier to drive than the viper
no shit
Xdd
We've all seen the cars and coffee videos on youtube.
@dense shard
lol people tryna show off
lol people tryna show off
@indigo coral I won't hesitate to show off my soon to be marquis
Eitherway. Welcome Agent. Nice Mustang.

indy 500 qualifying today... 260,000 empty seats
It looks so tranquil with an empty stadium
Makes for a wonderful juxtaposition between the sprawling seats and the captivating indy cars
barchetta?
Platform modifications?
explain plej
huh
The punto is a bit front heavy
no?
as a fwd car?
wait
the barchetta is FWD?
I just assumed that it's a RWD+2 seat roadster
TIL
That barchetta be lookin' real pretty

Ah, that's not so
That's a factory color tho
The wing on that one doesn't look too bad, honestly.
Reminds me of the LFA Nurburgring Edition
I wonder if my focus will start after 2 months of sitting
p0rhapse
I wondered the same about my grandparents car, but it did start just fine
@devout atlas https://youtu.be/jX3iLfcMDCw
Please drive carefully

Enjoy
Reminded me of this
yes
an allegory for the state of society
My car bearly started
My battery isn't original (I think...) But it's getting up there in age.
Resting voltage is a weak 12.0V
Drops down to 9V as it cranks.
Its some eel cheapo store brand
Now it's starts fine
The car is so dirty
Is mixing 5w 30 with 5w 40 fine?
Finally got the prelude to start cold and idle right. Had a couple vacuum leaks. I also had to clean out the fast idle valve. Fires right up now when cold. Don't have to crank it multiple times anymore with my foot pinned on the throttle to get it to start. Just starts first try. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/502579818085482517/744629082385547304/video0.mp4
GG
Serious question. Does anyone know how to put a Prius in neutral when the battery is dead with no way to jump or tow it? Also has two flat tires
Can it be done?
shouldnt you just be able to put it in N with the shifter?
if not there should be a button
It's one of those electronic shifters
no clue lol
id just get another car to jump it just so you can put it into neutral then
That's the thing. We had a huge storm and a shed is on the hood
Its wedged between the fence
Can it be jumped from the trunk?
Nvm found a video on YouTube
You might be able to trickle charge the battery from the trunk
But I know you can't jump it from the trunk, I've tried
I remember I've jumped a audi that had a huge battery in the trunk
the electrical system isn't normal
But I have no idea how some electric hybrids work
Neither do I, and I own one
I own a 2004 ford focus
And I'm happy with it
I feel better at driving it than new cars
I was so terrified in the 2014 vw polo
I feel fine driving new cars, just new cars have useless features I wish didn't exist
and cruise control and actually useful stuff is needlessly complex
The only modern feature that I would love is adaptive cruise control
I could make this
But you know
Testing
But im gonna to make android auto
Cruise control ain't that hard to use.
You turn it on, and then set a distance or speed.
right
but there are some cars where you have to look up in the owner's manual or ask the owner how to use it because the design is so big brain that its not immediately apparent how it works
and cruise control and actually useful stuff is needlessly complex
Me: Twists indicator stalk
Car: Continues at same speed
Yes, very complex
but there are some cars where you have to look up in the owner's manual or ask the owner how to use it because the design is so big brain that its not immediately apparent how it works
That's true tho
that's what I mean
and I only used cc as an example
there's some really big brain climate control shit too
but wheres the on/off
The right side of the circle turns it on or off
see, not immediately obvious
Yea, that's the classic Toyota CC I'm used to
I swear Toyota used that same design for like 20 years
Works fine
yea, its pretty great imo
I also just remembered another car I want to buy sometime in the next few years: Subaru SVX
If you can't, shouldn't be driving
Yours would take me a second of button pressing to figure out
its not crazy foreign, but its only one example
every manufacturer has a completely different setup for cc in my experience
That's up to them to implement
Ford's older setup required two hands
Even if it was all written out
I don't remember how cc works in my dad's Fusion. Knowing that car, its probably a terrible implementation
on our explorer it's not too bd
turn it on and set
different gauge cluster than ours but same cc buttons
Rotate up = Set or +
Rotate down = Res or -
Button = pause

wish i had but im not even legal age to drive
@carmine summit Be careful with spacers/adapters. I watched a car lose a wheel during a autocross because of a wheel spacer.
Spacers are safe as long as they are torqued properly when mounting, exeptions are huge spacers with like 100mm offset that puts stress on the wheelbearing and other components, been using spacers up to 50mm without problems at all.
Youre allowed to drive motocycle in Germany in the age of 16. With 17, you can make your car driving license. π
nice

btw
update on the Alpin A110
I've seen 4 of them (or even 5 i'm not sure) in 10 days
like, wtf
all blue ones but all different ones because it was in completely different places
still trying to find 18'' rims
I'm good with my 16 inches.
what is that thing? looks like a jeremy clarkson's brain child
jesus
time to shoot down everyone on the road, lads
if the turret has vertical height adjustment
and for some reason is advertising beef bouillon...
sounds about right
that's some top notch italian advertising
People keep telling me ford's are unreliable
Idk what theyβre saying
We have a raptor with 150k miles and it drives like its brand new
I have a 300k km focus and it drives fine
I saw a mustang mach 1
I hate that color
Got the battery in today.
Changed it out - And it was clear that it was more than just a dying battery acting up on me.
So I'll see if I can change out the alternator tomorrow.
@devout atlas mustard car
yes
Pre covid shenanigans
F10. π
Haha I was wondering if someone would point that out
We pretty much STOLE that car
22k
My brother and I pretty much stole some speakers yesterday.
$400 retail price. We picked them up used for $20.
Oh sweet
I need a headset or new speakers because the ones built into the monitor r doo doo
We also bought a subwoofer - Because we read that those speakers were lacking in that department. Paid $200, retail about twice that.
Ah yes
I actually feel about sad for that subwoofer. So much potential in it. And it doesn't get to play.
My car goes vroom
How do i stop my car from vrooming
It is annoying
I need a car technician
My car made 800 km journey
And people told me that 300k kmFord Focus was a mistake
Yes, but my car wont stop vrooming
It makes lots of damn loud sounds
Do u think my 2004 ford focus is silent?
At 4000 rpm
For 170 km
ok i have the solution to the vroom
you know that like key lookin thing u used to turn on the enine
The wind is also overpowering the engine noise in passager side
@fathom socket go to an exhaust shop and tell them you think your car is too loud, they can help you
i want to get into kart racing i have drivin legit karts before and its something i find enjoyable im really looking for something for trackdays so i can learn the sport before i get into league racing
[9:31 PM]
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/356807868681704 would this be a good starter?
Racing go kart. Does like 50 mph. Honda 11hp motor. This thing is loads of fun runs pretty damn good just had a carb clean.
Sweet
I love this car xD
renault twingo seizure edition
Oh god
Stickerbom on Amazon is where I got them @fathom socket but there is probably cheaper ways
Stickerbomb**
I don't even have amazon in my country
I can only rely with sellers willing to ship from german amazon
but porbabbly I can find it cheaper in poladn
also caps
my cars paint is so bad
like sandpaper bad
the grime get's in the scratches
and from white car I have a brownish car
inb4 im painting some shit rn
i hate the twingo it always waa ugly and it still is ugly :|
twingo is perfec
@bitter compass
Sure twingos are ugly but I payd 200β¬ for it and drove it 2years
50ps - take the back seat out and it's even lighter. It's actually fun to drive with a car where you don't care of braking it
I really rev my ford high
even if it has 300k
and IDK if I should maintain it so it will work for long time
or drive it till it breaks
I already put a new clutch in it
I mean, as long as you're not over revving it and the motor was maintained properly before you got it, should be fine
I mean, as long as you're not over revving it and the motor was maintained properly before you got it, should be fine
@civic girder how do I even over rev the engine
@turbid onyx my car looked worse
it turned dirt brown
Car. Is. Fixed.
what cars have good stock audio system?
@fathom socket over revving is quite difficult on a more modern engine. I don't think that there is an electronic fuel injected car that doesn't have a rev limiter.
unless I go down hill I thin u can't
going downhill even it shouldn't over rev
well
I did that once
the automatic gear box could not keep up changing the gears
but at least no damage
I need a new little thing for my keys.
My old one broke off cause it was just held on by thin plastic
why buy 2 of the same car smhmhmh
Simple, couldnβt pick white or red
I did a co-op at a body shop about a year and a half ago, a year or so before I was there RM Restorations had them paint the front end of an MC12
the paint guy at RM Restorations couldn't match the paint lol
it's a really unique paint, I like it
@devout atlas took the prelude to 3 shops today. NOT ONE can figure out what is wrong with the rear steering
though i fixed the hard start and idle
lol
Could be a sensor.
@dense shard its a mechanical system
its probably just a bad steering rack
thats my guess
if it's got linkage, I'd guess there's wear in the bushings and stuff
@civic girder I have a keyring with a B on my car key that I bring to work.
And then I have a leather pouch-thing for my second key.
my backup keys have an RX-7 Club of America thing on it, but I wouldn't use it on my main keys
too long and makes it awkward to me
my old thing was basically just a short stick
wdym
I couldn't keep a massive set of keys on my key ring for the car.
And then just have them dangling there.
still slightly confused, but I think I get what you mean
I have my only other key on my keyring with my car key
Plus a small carabiner style clip
The B is an old key chain from way back. I want to say from my granddad?
B is for Bertil.
ah, I see
That colorful thing is what I used to have on my keychain. But the points where it attaches to the ring broke. Iirc it was some little thing I made in an art class many years ago. Could probably make a new one tbh
Yeet. The 'problem' with me fixing my car now.
Is that I can now justify dropping more cash on it...
Lmao
@flint sable where at?
@civic girder Tires, brakes, diff, suspension...
@devout atlas took the prelude to 3 shops today. NOT ONE can figure out what is wrong with the rear steering
@robust sedge seriously?
isn't the 4ws system literally just a rod?
someone was talking about bushings wearing?
they were saying the strut being blown was the problem
im thinking its the front steering rack

gle what
The silver looks better
thatβs 63s coupe
lol
911s arenβt good?
After panameraβs they became such a shitty car
and lets check out the stelvio
is the v8 base?
The 911 997 gt 2 rs was a masterpiece
now hold on
is that glc63 a 2018 model
i donβt see it listed anywhere
the year*
also my pricing would be in cad
Iβm talking about the Mercedes LOL
ok lets talk about usa prices
One of the last good porsches
are you talking about the new one?
it doesnβt list the year
it'll be around a 1k-1.5k difference
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/375461451403624471/745516175915483146/unknown.png I donβt see the year on here
Buy an old porsche or an r8
if you want an suv get a bentayga lolol
Nah
dbx exists
dbx looks rubbish
The bentayga is a waste of money
thatβs subjective
velar is nice until it breaks
the velar looks garbage
i think velar looks nice
I'd get a LC500, RX350, GS F, and an LFA if I had buckets of money
the new evoque looks even better
It does look very fucking nice
thereβs a couple of people here with velars they look absolutely rubbish imo
I like the Velar
@indigo coral lfa
Agreed
i would never buy a velar
The lexus lfa is amazin
I love the LFA
Same
ew lfa
i dont like it
but i agree the lc500 looks amazing
i think lexus cars have a habit of being overdesigned
especially their sedan and their suv models
Lexus is by favorite car brand
leasing is for losers lel
You can actually expect a Lexus to last out of warranty π€£
If i had buckets of money Iβd get a gumpert apollo, a maserati mc12, and an old ass datsun
and if you dont want to take out 70-80k from your bank
to end up losing 30k in the next 3 years
thereβs so many downsides to leasing LOL
explain
I have a 1999 RX 300 right now. 22 years old and still running strong.
you can drive only a certain mileage every year
its not every year
The mc12 is an absolute masterpiece
its a total amount
here itβs every year
36000 is what you return it at max
I've only had to do wear items to it over the past couple years I've had it
they say 12000/year to indicate because they dont know how many years you're renting it for
you could rent it for 1 year
2 years
3
years
they dont know
now lease takeover
so they wrote 12000/year
Thatβs better
lease takeover is just bad
nothing out of the ordinary for an old car (front brakes, rear sway bar link, and plugs/valve cover gaskets)
i would never lease a used car
rubbish
mc12 and the granturismo are the only good maseratis left in existence
Fuck you
lololol
The mc12 is amazing
i agree
Every part looks amazing
The MC12 looks nice
the rear looks better in my opinion
LFA looks better
The engine even looks amazing
i dont like it
xj220 my favourite imo
lfa looks garbage
trash
I've been looking at getting a G70 in a couple years but Im not sure I want a car with a small motor and turbos
lolol
I could get a used GS F
Naturally aspirated V8, RWD
Oh also
467hp isn't crazy but it's plenty
A Mercedes slr stirling moss edition
absolutely lovely cars
And that V8 will last for-fucking-ever
i hate the new audis
literally carved soap π
thatβs all subjective
im talking about an older 2018 rs3
Its amazing.
RS3 is nice
is the rs7
no itβs not
in my opinion
EW
i hate the rs3
LOOOOL
looks plain from the front
