Me neither
Probs will get some photos of my bike later today
I'd love to drive that Scania.
6x8
Also. Would this go in boats, or trucks?
Yesn't
@viral matrix Two steerable axles on that Scania. Looks like the last two are fixed.
Yup
Vroom
22 ton multilift
The MP4-12Cs are getting down there too
Yes
Probably not anywhere near the reserve.
Mmm old bmws
Nope
Guessing that the owner wants at least $150,000
The MP4-12cs are getting under 100 grand
Most Cars and bids auctions go up near the end tho
That goes for any auction.
The MP4-12cs are getting under 100 grand
Didn't Tyler Hoover have one for less than 100k
Wouldn’t doubt it
Wanna know what’s going up in value that surprises me
Low mileage good condition 944 turbos
👀
This is “mine” (airquotes because I just kinda had it gifted to me, as an incentive for being drug free through highschool but I really can’t call it mine because makes me feel like stereotypical rich white kid that got gifted a car :/)
I paid like $5,000 for my 320i
I sat in a Kenworth truck the other day... But the cabine was incredibly narrow compared to a European truck imho
The European trucks use all of its width.
But conventional trucks usually have much more living space.
Since they are away from home for much longer than what drivers are here in Europe.
Ok oddly specific but ever hear of Butch Leitzinger?
Since they are away from home for much longer than what drivers are here in Europe.
Definitely true
I thought it was some weird car. But I was wrong.
It was a person.
Still, shocked at how cramped if felt
He raced for Nissan before and now Bentley at lemans
It's funny. Americans usually complain about cabovers being cramped.
Cabovers are really cool
Everything is cabover here
Mhmm.
You rarely see conventional trucks.
Though, there is one Scania T in the area where I park the truck.
I know local business which has one
Yeah it did a great job of tilling the dirt
Cabovers are amazing for seeing your surroundings.
But it's like the boss who drives the conventional truck, and every employee a cabover

😍
Oh god that text in the mirror
Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear
Yes 💩
Oh wow
i wonder how much an A45 costs now
Depends on where you are
like 17.5k where im at not bad

rs is like 25k
Literally the cheapest A45 here is €25k with 130k miles
👀
19k has 54k miles pog
think its got the aero kit too
😎
i saw a blue vanquish convertible next to a new vantage today
Buy it
yes
would need a morgage
are there any cheapish fun Wagon cars?
depends what cheapish is i suppose
also idk american stuff
somewhere around 6k euros
oh ok eurocar i know some of that
i cant say for prices in ur area doe
because my mother screams at me that my ford is ugly
I mean it's a beather car
and I don't really care about the paint
maybe an estate audi/bmw but im sure the running costs might not make them worth it
Does your mom sponsor you a new car?
purple bmw anyone?
Oh god
😢
twizy formula 1 editon?

ngl id buy it
shameit's good the RS doesn't hvae an automatic option
Ftfy
then get an a45 orsomething
^
sees bike
Looks at channel name

twizy f1 has same power to weight as a megane 265
Car: has stick shift
'murica: is this an anti theft device?
still got the E91 stolen tho
Mégane III RS is a great car
-.-

i wonder if any other f1 drivers have covid yet
i dont think perez was even symptomatic so they mightve been lucky and caught it before he could spread it
There have been many people who might have had it but never showed it
Everybody reacts different to it
my brother and I have had it i think
OOF

wait... did Scotty just grab a video and reupload it on his channel?
Yes
With a Scotty intro and outro
That's why it's the best Scotty video yet

Nice
An Eagle on Mars?
yeah thats what attacks drones right
well we dont know they arent there
To date, no proof has been found of past or present life on Mars
to date, no proof there arent eagles on mars to attack the drone
Also very true
However, with the known statistics, it's highly unlikely there will be eagles to attack the drone

I think the existence of life on Mars has been very heavily implied.
tl;dr: Testing is flawed.
they know there was life right
They don't.
There are potential signs, implications, and theories, but there hasn't been any proof.
The potential of Mars having life in the past is fairly high... higher than say... Mercury.
Hell, early observations of Mars has painted a picture of there being a civilization there.
But as our telescopes and science got better... yeah, sadly no life.
classic what was it the lines or whatever
Something like that, yes.
@harsh elm
Rotary no longer hesitates at high rpm
She was running mega rich
I got a solid 2 turns of the mix screw towards lean before it started hunting
Pretty sure my idle is wacky cause of emissions shit I have installed but not hooked up. Hopefully I can tune out the bouncy idle and misfires once the ACV and air pump get yeeted.
Also dumped some Seafoam in the tank for good measure lmao
Can't hurt to make sure the fuel system is clean and carbon deposits are getting burned
Prius is going to the shop tomorrow. I want the valves fixed and ensure that I can daily it for the next few years with little to no issues.
RX-7 can handle daily driver status in the meantime. She did it once before, and in the winter no less, she can do it again
why
eh, i dunno
If you just want to see pics I can just upload them lol
Its a 1983 GS. Middle trim, Series 2 (aka, first facelift)
oh, it's this one
Its a 2009, last year of the second gen
hey, it's not the next one with the alien headlights
Yea, I have a weird dislike of the 3rd gen
it's not weird to dislike a 3rd gen prius
the original facelift of the 4th gen looks kinda weird, but the new facelift of the 4th gen looks fine
it's alright, I guess
Yea, the 3rd gen feels like an older car. Its really weird
If I was in the market for a new daily, and had the option to buy new, I'd get a new Prius probably
But the hope is that I can keep this one for a few more years
You drive the prius for the fuel economy?
I got it for free as a hand-me-down from my dad
and I keep it for the nostalgia and fuel economy
ah, nice
talking of the Rx-7, most usable power is at like, 5k-6k, ye? How do you daily it?
The RX-7 has a very weird driving dynamic
It feels dead if you drive it normally and short shift it for "economy", yet it sounds like you're going faster than you are 😂
Peak torque is around 4-5k, so its not horrible
ye, it must be disorienting, as that rotary makes a racket
but it really doesn't come alive until 5k
maintenance?
peak power is at about 6800-7k
@civic girder do you know how much it makes now?
I haven't dyno tested it, but factory they made 100bhp and 107 lb-ft
whp would be around 80hp new
At its age and mileage, its probs got at best 75 or so whp
weight?
When I do the exhaust, I should be able to bring that up to at least 85whp, if not 90
Weighs 2350lbs
ah, quite light
Yea
Yea, its actually fairly quick in 1st and 2nd. Starts to lose steam at the top of 3rd, 4th gear has absolutely nothing after the torque starts to fall off
No, 5 speed was standard from 1982 forward
But 5th is overdrive, its pretty long
In theory, the car can go 130, but you'd need a long downward slope to reach that because 5th has literally nothing
the diff has a final drive of 3.909, which is also pretty long tbh
I'm assuming that city runs must be more enjoyable
Oh yea, stop light/sign pulls and highway on ramps are where its fun, and tight twisties. Its not a great highway puller, and would suck on tracks with long straights
If you can put up with the special needs of a rotary, I would highly recommend an FB over a Miata.
t w i s t y r o a d s
Having driven both, the Miata isn't as fun imo
If you can put up with the special needs of a rotary, I would highly recommend an FB over a Miata.
@civic girder Just scoping out cars, not sure a first time driver guy like me can cope with a rotary (when I'm able to come to the bloody US via flight)
The Miata has zero top end, whereas the rotary has all top end. Miatas have torque, and pull better at speed. But handling is pretty similar, and the slightly longer gearing of the FB is a little more fun imo
the NC Miata's first gear tops out at 11mph
Yea. Idk how true it is, but I've been told that the NA 5 speed box is the same trans as the FB 5 speed
but different final drive, because the NA has a 4.1 (iirc) diff
But I know that the GSL-SE (aka, the 13B FB) also had a 4.1, so idk
Corollas are fun in their own right
yeah
They aren't nimble or quick, but they have a weird charm
I drive me dad's 2007 international spec corolla sometimes
comes with fake wood trim
And they do handle pretty decent too
and a 5 speed manual
nice
Nice
I haven't driven a Corolla in a while, I'd like to compare the handling to the Prius
It'd be interesting cause the Prius is heavier and has better distribution with the battery pack in the back
I'm fairly sure that the 1.8 makes somewhere around 120
Yea, its definitely faster than the Prius
Combined hybrid power is rated at 110bhp
The motor alone is 75bhp
wheel torque is like 289lb-ft tho
And its really fucking weird, cause the computer cuts the electric motor at WOT, so you only have like 50whp if you floor it lmao
haha, by wot, I meant what
That is quite a bare interior, damn
@civic girder it's good
I'm sure. It just looks so plain and empty to me
leather everything was standard, i believe
damn
I'm sure. It just looks so plain and empty to me
@civic girder yes, true. I like the airy beige shit
Meanwhile...
damn
@civic girder dashboard is still plastic
Meanwhile...
@civic girder oh, yeah, I see what you mean
that's a lot of trim
yea
and then the 3rd gen Prius interior looks like its an older car. Its really weird, but it feels like a regression whenever I see it
You lose the fancy touch screen in the center and get a shittier screen across the top
2008/9 got us a screen in the corolla. that's it
and the center console is massive
You lose the fancy touch screen in the center and get a shittier screen across the top
@civic girder damn
I wonder when Toyota will release a new Prius.
Also I quite like the sloping console styling.
The 4th gen was released in 2016
Yep. It's going on 5 years.
Time for a refresh or new car.
... then again the current Prius is on TNGA-C.
It will likely get a refresh for 2022, would be my guess
2nd gen and 3rd gen ran for 5 years
I liked the funk of the pre-facelift.
I didn't really like the pre-facelift front, but the rear was pretty decent imo.
Then again the refresh did make the car look wider. OG was tall af looking.
right
The headlights and taillights did it no favors there.
Prius has always had a weird tall look
But I appreciate the funk.
ah yes. The one angle where they look practically identical.
lmao
New design looks cleaner, but I question if that was really needed for a car as polarizing as the Prius.
Also hot take.
Toyota Venza should have been called the Prius V.
Definitely a hot take lmfao
I highly disagree
The Prius has never been a crossover or SUV type vehicle, even the V
Badging the new Venza as a Prius would feel really weird
It already feels weird being named the Venza.
true
venza > prius for the new SUV
It went from being a Camry wagon to a near luxury hybrid crossover.
its a continuation of the previous Venza
its a copy of the RX just like the last one
The Venza was a really weird nameplate to begin with
exactly.

Also I swear I saw a Corolla Cross yesterday.
Ah yes. We resurrected my friend's Mazda 6 today
nice
Yea, it runs really well now
new MAF, new spark plugs
it was dead because of the most common Mazda 6 V6 failure ever. A stupid little plastic elbow that connects coolant hoses together
New elbow, top off/bleed the coolant, and it was back in action. The fresh plugs helped it a lot. And the MAF was necessary, the old MAF was completely dead and the car ran super lean and was hesitating a lot
wow, I'm disappointed in myself. I didn't take any pictures of it lmao
oh well. Alright, I'm off to bed.
g'night
@civic girder
Fun fact: You need apex seals again
jeez, you're very passive aggressive
what's up with the rotary hate?
ferrari modular v6
mhmm, yes
sad ford 4.6 modular noises
Friend send me this, his transmission dipstick has shiny oil on it, Camry is havin issues
Probably no license
or maybe he owns a Tesla and musk arbitrarily decided to make it against terms to charge the car and it ran out of battery
Oh shit wait that is what's coming next
he modified his tesla to have heated seats, voiding the warranty, removing the ability to fast charge, and the added problem of having interpol on your tail
ooo
9
ayyy nsw
ayyyyy
you own that evo?
no lmao it just looks nice
ah, nice
i tell the difference between the 8 and 9 just by those lil holes in the front bumper
@'s me to make the most overused and shitty rotary joke
Lmao

Yea, basically piston rings
They separate the combustion chambers and allow the rotor to slide smoothly across the housing
Yep. Bad or blown apex seals cause compression loss. Depending on the type of failure, the housings can be scored heavily and the engine cannot be rebuilt
Yea, they wear down over time. The material wears away
Depends on the type of seal, and the engine's usage
Stock/na motors can go upwards of 150-200k miles before the seals start to wear too thin
Boosted motors usually yeet the seals long before then
And you can't just replace apex seals, much like how you can't just replace a piston ring. Requires full engine rebuild
oof

that's a lot of seals to break
What the heck is that.
It's the M8 Gran Coupe.
O
Does anyone know anything about these? I just bought one. It’s A 1989 Honda Prelude Si 4WS
Yeah it threw me off when I was test driving it

Yeah it threw me off when I was test driving it
@robust sedge how much?
$1500
Lol
Only had a valve train gasket leak and a bad tachometer speed sensor. But I mean that’s probably the best I’m gonna get for $1500
It’s like VTEC but for the wheels

I have no dad
F
@robust sedge Ive been searching for one of those here in the UK for a while now, hard to find a manual.
i swear i dont just like it because of the pop up headlights
@charred depot has a 5 speed manual.
lucky
Prius is at the shop.
das panda
PANDA
pandas are lovely amd derpy
not as derpy as the roomster but derpy enough
italy is littered with pandas all over the place. like 50% of the car market is panda
ye, i know
but also understandable
i mean try driving one chonky ass american car through italy
villages in south Tyrol, old cities in the Toscana
american cars only live in their natural habitat. everywhere else they are basically unheard of
@charred depot i get why u did that those 2 cars werent really moving before you made the turn so you were probably right to assume they were still on red
Strange setup of traffic lights
I was just at a junction with lights... But they weren't working. Normally they blink amber to warn you about possible danger when they're out... But now there was nothing 👀 It felt kinda strange to go, especially since there are red light camera's... I hope those were out as well 😛
It needs some wax
I dont know why the timings like that it doesent make any sense which is why i thought theirs was gonna stay red
In future i know just to floor it
no doubt the timing will be back to normal when i do that though
Need to get the Dodge neon to have it's oil change it has a turbo charger as well
Just one by stock
Theres only 3000 Mazda 2 Takuyas in the UK future classic am i right
No
Why no its a exquisite automobile
A Mazda 2 will never be a future classic

Unlike the amazing Opel Corsa
All opel corsas deserve to be rolled into a ditch
👀
But Opel > Vauxhall, since it has the wheel on the correct side
ive seen some right hand drive opels here
Yes but those are for Ireland
I heard there is a car that has 6 rotors how does the fuel system work lol
Really when i was looking for a car it was basically != fiesta and != corsa. Rules out a suprising amount on the used market.
I know there is a 4 Rotor Rx-7 that's in dark gray or smoke color
My main reason was != VAG
I'd rather drive a Lada than a VAG product
Thing about corsas and fiestas though is so many parts avaliable
For some reason mazda only made the limited edition 2 with the lower power engine
There was never a factory 4 rotor
I looked at a Mazda2 BiFuel... But those engines grenade themselves
So I went for the Corsa

BiFuel?
I actually want one but at the same time it's hard to maintain the engine lol
it's hard to maintain the engine lol
There's a new model now
Which is
Corsa was getting really old, on a 2005 platform
So sales will probably go up again
They are up here atleast
Already registered more this year than entire last year
if theyre going the whole way to build a completely custom rotary why not put one of the recent designs into practise instead
mazda 2 is a nice first car if you can get a nice price tho
where did all the preludes go (this is a graph of existence basically)
Import one from Japan
sounds like a more than im willing to pay at the moment
Oof
Most Land Rovers keep on living
huh only 400K are range rovers
UK, most are Defenders probably
Oof
interesting to see the graph of old interesting cars dwindling down
The last 22 years, only 27k Land Rovers (all) have been registered here
Os on Average, about 1200/year
Or 3/day
80k registered last year
80k Land Rovers? Really?
mhm
That's quite a lot
people like their range rovers here
80k land rovers 52k being range rovers

they are too wide for half the roads here

I'm picking up an engine tomorrow to put this manifold on
2.0l naturally aspirated 8v, but I'm gonna toss a BorgWarner K24 turbo on it for now. I plan to switch to a custom hybrid Garrett T3 down the line, but I already have the K24 so I may as well use it. Should be able to do everything but the charge piping with OEM VW parts. Definitely not going to be the most efficient setup, but it'll be way better than the ~55whp 1.8l I have now.
so I think I might buy a water/air intercooler kit, because the kit I'd buy is 70% off right now
normally $1000, on sale for $300

That's a good idea
Fun fact. Articles of Confederation were rendered void by the Constitution.
And if I remember correctly. Following the Articles means that state law still dictates what you can and cannot do.
In regards to "travel."
Honestly. Easier to discuss physics than the logic behind these people... hell... easier to be an Intel marketing guy.
The 650S on Cars and Bids reached just about $130,000
Yeah. The normal Sports line from Mclaren is pretty bad for depreciation.
Only the LT cars keep their value from Mvlaren.
Then again, not so sure about the 600LT
Hmmm not sure, I'm not that in to the McLaren market
Anything exclusive and limited is gernally the go-to to avoid depreciation.
Also - Any cars that are skunkworks projects.
BMW 1M being a decent thing.
Yes
hi mhmm Kay
I said this months before. But there might be some really hot deals coming on cars in Q4.
Some car factories have still been producing cars. With fewer people to buy them. Especially with how a bunch of people don't have the jobs to support such a financial decision.
I have a Volvo v40 from 2004
I want to upgrade the radio
Any ideas what I could get
If it's just a normal double din radio, then you have plenty of options.
It says hu-605 on it
So the older style. Which is pretty similar to a double din.
Will a Dubble din fit
If I remember right, then you might have to shave off a little bit to make it fit.
Coworker used to have a V40 with a thumping stereo system.
Do you recommend any brand
I would make my own radio
It's actually what I'm gonna to do
Sorry
I mean stereo
I know this is going to cause some controversy, but I've wanted an FD for years now. The rotary engine's are awesome, but they come with a lot of different ownership duties that I don't want. LS swaps are pretty crude and rough. So why not K swap an RX7?
Follow us on Facebook...
A reliable FD?
I'm tired of people saying rotaries are unreliable
just like any other engine, if they're maintained properly they're reliable
Well
Improperly built rotaries are ridiculously unreliable
You either leave it stock, or pull no stops when doing engine mods.
A do it right or don't even bother trying kind of situation
If you jank it, even proper maintenance won't save you
And turbo rotaries just straight up don't last very long
And turbo rotaries just straight up don't last very long
@civic girder this
the reason why rotaries get a bad rep
I mean the engines Angel Motorsports builds seem to be really reliable
Rotaries just need additional maintenance.
I remember there being a picture showing all the seals a rotary needs.
And that just reminded me that a normal piston engine needs a bunch of seals as well.
So a moot point.
usually, the fewer moving parts something has the less likely it is to break
Rotaries are reliable, but have a shorter life span than piston engines
And yea, turbo rotaries are what really makes people hate on them
They get a shitty fucked up FC, and slap a turbo on there and not even build it properly. Blows up on the Dyno and get pissed.
It's also hilarious because all the Mazda race cars used na motors and make way more power than most people's backyard turbo FCs 😂
Picked myself up a GT350 😄
dude
Calvin, how many op muscle cars will you buy?
Did a lil photo shoot with it
dude this is by far
The most fun car I have ever owned
Besides a lil bit on the outside mostly
But it has a cat delete I think the owner had said
makes like, 520
yeah?
But it has a cat delete I think the owner had said
@frank tundra o h
Going to get it dyno’d for sure later this week
He didn’t have his dyno sheets
A little roller my friend snapped
well, it's got like, 760 hp

I am tempted to use the 'don't crash into a crowd' joke here
But I like mustangs too

This one was a very impulsive buy
I wanted to coyote swap my new edge
But every coyote deal kept falling through the pipes
Either needed too much work to make it worth it, or way too expensive
hmm
you can always commit a cardinal sin and get a ls4
for your Ford
that'll rile people up
my brother is absolutely against an LS
he hates anything chevy
I wanted to take an LS out of a crashed 2011 SS and mangle it into the new edge
my brother is absolutely against an LS
@frank tundra ford f a n b o y?
but he said he wasnt gonna help unless its a coyote or a hemi, and hes a mechanic so i was gonna need his help
both our first cars were 2001 V6 Mustangs
so a little
both our first cars were 2001 V6 Mustangs
@frank tundra sn95
the official car of doing the deed at 2AM in a Tesco parking lot

absolutely no way that was happening in the back of an sn95
i dont even see the point of having those seats
*front of a sn95
i dont even see the point of having those seats
@frank tundra throwing in your textbooks while going for a booze run
my hellcat is probably gonna go up on the market too
financially i could most likely have them both insured at the same time and be running
but theirs no real point as im only gonna really drive 1
GT350 is about 30x more fun then the hellcat
sure the hellcat is a little faster, but auto
autos might be faster, but i just dont enjoy driving it
what if I tell you that the most fun car that you can drive on the roads is a early 2000s hyundai with an auto box?
You'll get that near death experience every time you enter the car
that 06 spectra gives you a thriller everytime you step into it
dont know if its gonna break down, or explode
actually
I take that back
AMC gremlin
drive it on a road
and try not to die
very fun experience
i wanted to get an 2009 r35
but the guy who was selling it was asking like 10-15k more then i wanted to pay
it was between these 2
top is an 09 bottom is a '17
he was asking 70k for an 09 with 130k on it
bru wat?
almost bought the 2017, but someone bought it out from under me
OOF
That 09 is a special edition is it not?
i personally wanted the 09
just prefer it
but couldnt get either so now i have another mustang
From what I know, the GT-R gearbox is a bit lacking compared to modern ones.
The Polestar 1 is basically an EV C70.
Change my mind.
Polestar 1 isn't a convertible, C70 was
I know. And I forgot about the Polestar being hybrid.
But it pretty much is a modern take on the C70.
But Volvo knows that it wouldn't sell. But a "Polester" might.
I think it's great looking, but too expensive
Still not sure why the Volvo 40.2 is a Polestar 2 tho xD
Should've just been a Volvo
There are even rumors to turn it back in to a Volvo, to lower it's brand CO2 emissions
Polestar products are probably going to be priced as a more exclusive thing.
It's sad how boring the Volvo engine is now.
Maybe lower power Polestar 2 as Volvo V40?
I say engine (singular) because they pretty much just only use a single engine.
And then there is the diesel.
Diesels are alright. But mainly just for work vehicles.
Or if you do long commutes.
I can't really do diesel anymore. They are too unrefined.
diesel drone drives me nuts
You basically don't hear it in the cabine
@civic spoke Yeah the first gen r35's were notorious for shitty gearboxes
but i just love the look of it
some cars can be worth dealing with the problems just depends
saving money
but
the carbon fibre i have inside my srt jeep and hellcat
i wouldve rather had plastic
considering the carbon fibre is known to just come off
F
I checked what the hooklift truck we have weighed with and without the machine bed.
11,400 kg empty. 13,540 kg with the machine bed.
@turbid onyx Its actual carbon fibre
but where its held
it comes out
That carbon fibre behind the wheel, its a strip that goes all the way from the start of the driver door, to the start of the passenger as a strip
and the strip itself pops out where its held
its supposed to be covered under warranty
but even after dodge fixed mine, came out again
its an issue dodge has had since literally 2014
my 2015 srt jeep had it, my hellcat had it, and my 2019 srt jeep has had it
Quality
dodge with simple logic? nah, just all they know is to take every car model possible and put a 6.4 or a 6.2 into it
Mine has wood accents from the finest plastic trees
There was a wood wheel available for my car but it doesn't have it :(
This is the interior i wish I had
Black with the wood steering wheel
This is what I actually have
oof nice
@indigo coral that black interior looks a couple of years newer, no?
I'd say I prefer the black + wood in that RX, although I usually prefer non-black interiors
It has a newer style steeringwheel no?
That's still a first gen RX

I've got black + piano black, everybody's favourite

Yes I hate it
Seeing expensive cars with half their buttons gone

To be honest, I exactly prefer my Corsa with piano black than the other available option (silver, champagne). Those just look cheap
The glossy plastics make it look fancier
I don't need to worry about sticky buttons since there are exactly 0 soft touch

OOF
I liked the 159 carbon finish

This is perfection
Yes I know, but still: perfection
It's a Brera
But the carbon + red leather =
#mint
the spring looks out of place to me im gonna check the bottom isnt broken or something
safety first
its making a heck of a noise
That... Looks quite crusty
nah man its mint
this is one of the 3000 limited edition made ofcourse all the owners have cared for it well
could of been a future classic, ended up rust and dust
the perks of the limited edition include, limited to the worst engine, a leather steering wheel, hands free parrot kit, sports trim.
Definitely a future collectible
Isn't the "worst engine" just a retuned version of the more powerful version?
Like 75 vs 86hp from the same 1.3?
Ah there was a 1.5 as well apparently
👀
102hp
102 would probably be quite fun
Get one
my insurance would also have a fun time charging me £300 more a year
Classic
nah it wont be that bad now that im not a completely new driver
I was gonna get a mazda 2 sport but i didnt want to have a black box
My insurance after 4 years is still expensive AF
Dropped like €9 per month over those years

The sport had like 90K miles on it but
I think im gonna encounter major rust issues before i have to be worried about engine problems
Mazda's rust more than average
my rusty torsion bar probably has not helped the handling of the car
Replace it
if im replacing anything its the front subframe
it has the finest le crust on the car
OOF
did somebody say soft touch plastic?
did someone say failing ignition system?
Cause that's whats happened to the RX-7
god fucking damn it, every time
in my hour of great need, the rotary decides "hey, I'm broken"
reminds me of another time the Prius was at the shop
Oh no
I'm really glad my car isn't rusty
I have performed the band aid fix
But I'm pretty sure that wire was faulty. It shocks me every time I put my hand near it while the engine is running. Other wires don't shock me
I flipped the wire. Definitely not supposed to be installed this way, but the wire is too shorth inside the boot, so it refuses to go on properly any other way
The car still hesitates and sounds fucky, but it's driveable. Before, it barely had enough power to move and struggled to rev past 4k
F
One of the FB bois on the RX-7 discord got side swiped by an idiot
Also, a friend of mine is getting a clean MKiii Supra
No rust, it runs, but it doesn't idle, and it needs a new water pump.
@drowsy kernel B5 Passats are kinda cool but they're a nightmare to work on
@carmine summit dunno I'm just a simple programmer 🤷♂️ my dad has a workshop and he says old citroens never break and vw are the easiest and cheapest to fix. Hopefully this one won't break any time soon
I work in a VW wrecking yard, most VWs are pretty simple but B5s are a nightmare
You shouldn't have any issues with reliability though
Just make sure you change the oil regularly to avoid sludge buildup
Sad.
13% seems optimistic
me: never drove an automatic
stares in disbelief
i think europe got up to pretty much 50/50
Selection for manuals are really limited for us now.
I just went "Whaaa"
Mercedes offers a driving school package for their A class.
Meaning double commando.
I have just never seen it in the normal configurator.
Ah it's in the regular configurator
Opel has a different brochure for it, but it's not in the configurator
The Opel factory driving school specs gives you additional turn signal controls for the passenger/instructor
I think instructor here just gets pedals and extra mirrors?
Basically what is gives you:
- Lighting in the driver footwell area (with on/off switch)
- Added interior mirror
- Added exterior mirrors
- Big driver info display with special large speed display
- Indicator switch on the roof panel
- Passenger set of pedals
I actually don't know. The only cars I drove with double commando was when I took my drivers license.
I know the truck in school only had the pedals and a speed thing.
Idk that's what the brochure said
The car I learned to drive in only had the 2nd set of pedals + mirrors, that's all
I only really practise drove with my parents and our normal cars.
Driving lessons are obligated here, but I could already drive before I took my first lessons
Also driven with my parents a bit.. which isn't really allowed
Driving lessons aren't required here. But you need to take a risk course before you can do any of the actual tests.
I had 30 lessons/hours, which is actually quite fast (average is 45-50)
Risk course?
You get to learn about the risks around alcohol, driving, etc.
And drive on a skidpad.
To simulate driving on ice.
OOF I don't think evening/night drives are required here
Might be a good idea, but that'd push up the price even more... And it's already quite expensive imho
On average it's already 2000-2500€ 👀
I had a couple (like 2) lessons in the evening, but not because it was mandated but it just happened like that
At 16.5 y/o, you can take your theory exam and start taking lessons.
At 17y/o, you can take your driving exam
If you pass your exam at age 17, you can drive with somebody who had their license for 7+ years until the day you turn 18, then you can just drive alone
If you pass your exam at age 18 or above, you can just start driving
I don't have license but i do own a car

don't yank on it while driving
