Apparently also the steeringwheel controls are horrible I know the Infotainment was, but the other cars still have a steeringwheel which makes sense with physical buttons... This one has touch sensitive buttons as well with no logic behind it

I'd wager BMWs are about as sketchy as rotaries in terms of reliability. Rotaries are certainly easier to work on and repair. $3200 repair bill? That's actually more than a rotary rebuild + port job.
Older BMWs are probably more reliable, but I wouldn't count on anything at least 2000 or newer being "reliable"

Ceramic is basically a super charged wax. It's a coating you apply in liquid form.
PPF is Paint Protection Film. It's basically getting your car wrapped.
So super wax vs. vinyl sheets.
