i might go and check just because im interested
It even has some flowers on the sidewall
my cars pretty noisy on motorway
bruh having a new car
Actually they are quite decent
But they're nearly low on thread
So after the summer, 4 new tires

car thats almost as old as you are gang
First doing some donuts ofc
My car is a year old now.
do mad driftu on old tyres until theyre bald
8.5y/o
Have it 4 years now
several careful owners
1 minor rear ender, only cosmetic damage
Exactly
Gotta look fresh when checking tyres
ok so the 2 front ones are the same
Pirelli CINTURATO something
rear right is also pirreli p300
right one i couldnt tell said rain on it
not too bad
yeah i saw that the pirrelli performance ones are the best in every category apart from rolling resistance or something
but most of these arent the perf ones
https://images.pitstopcdn.net/Hankook-Kinergy-Eco-K425/images2d/Hankook-Kinergy-Eco-K425_0001.jpg
I have these, you can see the flowers =
(Not those hideous rims tho)

facts right there
i never thought the tyres on my car were that expensive but nice

would make a great joke on top gear just to have that one pirreli p zero and 3 other cheapo tyres
Maybe your size is expensive as well
its a mini so i think the cheapest fitted i can get is like 55
my mazda 2 has 195 45 R16
a higher up model i think the sport has 205's but id technically have to declare it to my insurance if i increased from standard size
I have 195/55 R16, which is like 30% more expensive than the 205/55 R16 which you can find on basically everything lol
atleast i dont have the model with 175's
at least you dont have an x5
pizza wheels
Top tip; don't calculate how much you've spend on a car over x period of time
I did it the other day for my 4 year ownership... I'm still recovering

now i wanna know the number
when the alternative is 4 seperate busses in a row, it wouldnt bother me
i used to do the 4 busses biggest problem is if you arrive as one leaves you are waiting like 15-30 minutes
had to leave at around 6am to arrive for 9
now i wanna know the number
@fathom socket it was like 12k or something (excluding the purchased of the car)
12k EUR that is
damn
i think the avg for a petrol car is supposed to be about 3.5k a year so that makes sense
That's fuel/insurance/tax/maintenance
but your car is brand new so id have expected bette
Brand new
My car is brand new.
oh wait ye got people mixed up whoops

Tax + insurance is like 60% of my expenses
Hard for me to do, every time I go on the highway my plate is registered
So they'll immediately notice I'm driving the csr without tax
true true
BMW #2 most reliable European brand according so Scotty in the US
(Yes, > Scotty)
I Ranked All European Car Brands from Worst to Best, DIY and car review with Scotty Kilmer. Worst car brands. Best car brands. BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Volvo, I've finally ranked all the car companies. Worst cars to buy. Least reliable cars. ...
Scotty clearly knows nothing about any car that isn't a 1996 Corolla
- Volvo
- BMW
- Mercedes-Benz
- VAG
- Mini
- Alfa Romeo
- Fiat
Yes Scotty is an idiot
'94 Celica btw
Scotty is a crackpot piece of shit whose head is so far up his ass that he spews shit out of his mouth
Yes I hate him
Celica, corolla, close enough
Yes I don't like him either
Yeah Scotty is a crackpot
imo the most wholesome car youtuber is hoovies garage π€£
mechanic for 50 years my a**
rev up your engines
i usually ignore his vids just because his stuff is mostly american stuff
which i couldnt even get if i wanted one
His stuff is mostly a '94 Celica
secret dont dot
Yes
Car Wizard is kind of nice to watch
His acting skillz are
But he's a good guy
i think it looks quite nice for 2008 but yeah its not perfect
i mainly like the headlights
I'm not huge on car youtube.
I mostly stick to the review channels such as Throttle House or Redline Reviews.
Car culture? RCR, and that's it.
oh and I guess Savage Geese? That's kind of car culture?
Redline Reviews
With Sofyan
It's pretty much the only channel that straight up reviews a car without messing around.
I watch savagegeese, Redline, Andie The Lab, Car Throttle, Dougy, Hoovie, Car Wizard, Car Throttle and 2 Dutch channels
But in a wholesome way
Hoovie is car culture.
Hoovie is awesome
This BMW is the only BMW behind me
Z3 in the corner: am I a joke to you?
What's up with the Z3? It has been there for months
i always get concerned about his finances just because he buys a supercar a week but im sure he might be fine
dat aston martin rapide doe
where is this single seat
can i buy it al lttstore.com?
Yesn't
that red 2008 supercar was supposed to have hydrogen injection
apparently people said that would be the next big thing then
You can run any gas engine on hydrogen basically
true but this one had like they add a little to mix in with the fuel in the cylinder
apparently it cut emmisions by 30% but that seems unlikely
twin turbo v8 3.8 litres got 40mpg in the tests i think too
so if theyre not lying it would be quite nice
bruh my 1.3l i4 gets 40mpg
Yes pls
to be honest i am using it up to redline all the time
ah yes.
The mythical "it does everything bro" car claims.
"it makes 700 horsepower, gets 50 mpg, weighs 1000 kilos, AND it's also emissions compliant."
Last you hear from that company is the CEO is on the run for tax evasion, the factory site is a superfund site, the investors all pulled out, and the engineer is actually 12.
so faraday future?
had 450 actually
im not talking about wether you could buy the car anyway
the hydrogen injection is a thing as is the design
arnold schwartznegger drove it
making it the greatest car in the world after a hummer
Environmental cars already existed back then
Not trying to say environmentalism is bad...
It wasn't a huge concern back then.
Well it already was
I have a toy car collection problem lol
Yea. I really think I bumped a valve back when the spark plug incident happened
Motor is clearly still running well enough, but I think the bad clearance is causing a little low compression on that cylinder and slightly reducing fuel economy
I'm going to call some shops and see how much it might cost to get the valves clearanced and tappets adjusted.
Also maybe will do a compression test and check the sparky bois
Might also add some 10W40 instead of the 0W-whatever it is just for thicker oil
Hmmm yeah I'd get the clearances checked, it's probably off. No automagically hydrolic adjustable valves I assume?
Nope
Solid lifters
Supposedly clearances should be checked on a regular schedule as part of long term maintenance.
I've got Seafoam in the gas rn, trying to get fuel system cleaned out to help isolate issues
yeesh is that the prius?
Yes it is
mine ticks but that's known and all good
its the injector tick that is common on toyotas
Yeah my injectors tick as well, but every LPG system does that
Nice
My injectors tick as well, but this is a different noise
Yeah unless your injectors also function as valves, it are not the injectors
If your valves have injected themselves into your cylinder, that's bad.
I'd probably ask my mechanic for my money back.
I put it back in inspection mode and took more video of it idling. When laying down next to the car, I heard what sounds kinda like pinging. Though it is below a 1/4 tank and has Seafoam in the tank
I'll upload and post once I get back to my PC. Decided the RX-7 got a little lonely with all the attention the Prius has been getting
Oh we're talking about cars that do everything now? I can name one that gets pretty close to doing everything with some modification
1998 Mercedes E300 turbodiesel
They're dead reliable (the engine at least), they can make over 600hp on stock internals, and can still get over 30 mpg with 600hp
I imagine they won't be emissions compliant when modified.
Actually, you might be surprised
I probably wouldn't.
Compound turbos lower EGTs which helps with emissions
With the right setup it could pass most emissions regulations with ease
Lowering EGTs helps a lot with diesel emissions, not nearly as much with gas engines afaik
I have my doubts on a 300D making 600 horsepower on stock parts, and getting 30 mpg.
I've found a lot of people who mod their cars talk out their ass since they either never cared to check economy nor dyno'd their cars.
I mean there's a guy in the UK with one of those in an F250 4x4 who builds them for a living, his truck makes 500 wheel and gets 30mpg
"yeah bro, my car makes power on stock internals easy, just needed new turbos, cams, injectors, and water injection."
All stock internals
3.0l turbo diesel straight 6
That's not an engine that ever came in an F250.
UK mpg != US mpg
It's called a swap
Why would you do that?!
Because
Unless the guy is swapping over a 6.0...
More power more torque, better fuel economy
bullshit on more torque.
It was a 6.9 IDI before
Those 7.3s were epic.
The RX-7 is running better than ever. Whatever the hell it was that I hooked up, it clearly fixed a vacuum leak. Im up another 2mpg and she revs a lot more freely. Sounds a little weird when dropping to idle, but it's probably a side affect of whatever emissions thing I hooked up
We used to have a 7.3 IDI
IDI?
30mpg uk is 25 mpg us by the way
...
I had a friend with a 7.3 from the early 2000s who claimed that as well.
He wasn't making 600 horsepower.
He blew out a transmission.
He has an OM606 swapped F250 making 500hp, with diesels high power doesn't necessarily mean poor fuel economy
I need to get stronger degreaser. Even with that weak degreaser the engine bay us a lot better looking. And I didn't even get to scrub the whole thing doen
do it.
Look at this radiator shroud, like damn. Its mint underneath all the grime
It looked really bad before though
I can always clear coat it
Can read the oil cooler sticker now π
woah
This is a good pic to demonstrate the before and after
Anyway. Perhaps the diesel can make power, economy, and meet emissions, but the last 5 years have taught me that not even automakers can do it reliably. So please understand, boost. I'll believe it when I see it.
id rather see a hydrogen rotary
well basically a rotary that can bi fuel hydrogen and petrol
like a real chad
I wanna say a hybrid rotary.
EV for low end torque, rotary for the rest.
also
Teslaβs insane stock price makes sense in a market gone mad
"Teslaβs bewildering share price makes more sense when you think of it as a hyper-exaggerated product of β and maybe metaphor for β a stock market that itself has stopped making sense, at least by conventional measures."
tl;dr: the stock market doesn't reflect reality.
hasnt for quite some time anyway
tesla is just a rather obvious indicator of this
as was bitcoin
mazda beat me to it
put it in a car or just sell the engine now please
I just want a manual RX-9
Not an rotary generator.
A hybrid system would do wonders.
hmmmmm
The plot thickens
rotary swap it
May have to at this point
piston engine too complicated
eghhh, its so hard to pinpoint where exactly it comes from
I'm probs gonna have to grab a long ass extension and do it that way
send medical assistance
my guy, takes photo of car on phone, then takes a photo of his phone.
whats worse is how scuffed the screen is
probably an automatic anyway :^(
theyre imports right
if its only the one with pop ups youre looking at youre right
suprisingly that is one tasty interior
@charred depot what aboot this one
looking for Mk2 or Mk3
@civic girder sounds like valve tick and you should check your compressionin all cylenders and if 1 is diffrent by alot than you may have a bent valve rod
That's kinda what I was thinking. Was going to try and do comp testing on all 4 cyls tomorrow
From what I understand though, a bent valve would cause significant issues, such as major power loss
but the car drives as if nothing is wrong
Makes me think its just clearance issues. But we'll see
yea i was going to say it could be a bad motor mount and it could be vibrating
That could also be possible, though I doubt it.
I'm going to take a long extension and play doctor tomorrow as well. Try and see if I can figure out where its coming from
ok
When one transmission isnβt enough
That would make zero sense.
?
Having seven gearboxes.
ooh
Considering the whack gearing you would have.
When you rock crawlin' you gotta have the right gearing.
dunno if youre gonna have 7 gearboxes you might aswell go the whole hog and get 8
certainly gives you something to do when cruising on the motorway
@viscid anvil Not exactly sure why you pinged me of all people, considering I've been absent from Discord for almost 5 months. But yes, I like your car.
@fathom socket (sorry for ping), but I think I'm getting close to a solution on the mystery noise in the Prius.
I'm thinking its valvetrain, possibly a valve that is way out of clearance spec
It's because you once mentioned how much you hated 97-01 ESs
When one transmission isnβt enough
@delicate sinew lol fake, there are only 3, the rest was copied in there π
Is the new VW Golf 8 really better than its predecessor? Or has VW used to much cost cutting when designing the new Golf 8?
Despite using the same MQB platform as its predecessor, VW Golf 8 has made a progress in safety systems (Travell Assist) and some of the technology (48V ...
@stoic ledge Looks like it's a normal H-pattern one, and then one for selecting high/low gears? No idea what third one is for.
Maybe something for auxillaries? Or a tip bed? Or... Idk xD

Damn

S5e I assume?
That's not that terrible, that's like a year old
I misread it for Galaxy S5
@dense shard Corolla Touring Sports 2.0 Hybrid
changing lanes with no indicator π¦
Yes π©
@stoic ledge Next time I go limburg
meetup idk
i don't even know you ahha
kill me if you want to
thats a weird looking bmw z4
B romeo giulia 4
@stoic ledge Next time I go limburg
@median egret I live in the very South xD
kill me if you want to
@median egret yes
i wouldn't mind tbh

Ima head out
Hi head out, I'm MK
gotta love it when uconnect just dont want too connect
fiat makes the best audio systems
why?
hope its not windows vista
what does LOTUS mean
WE HAVE A PODCAST!
http://bit.ly/PastGas
Lotus has been dedicated to building cars for the pure driver since 1948! Lotus has created some of the best handling road cars like the famous Lotus Elise, Exige, Esprit, and Evora. When it comes to the track, well Lotus has a rich h...
Lotus is one of those weird cars.
Where you have to hype up how bad it is to sell it.
You have to convince them that the bad stuff are all good things.
no it is meant for a purpose and people don't buy them for the reason they were made they are track cars meant to be nimble not freaky fast if you want to go fast get a corvett
or whatever you prefer
any car can be fast but not all can go around a track well
Or you could just get a Miata.
yea i agree lotus cars kinda suck compaird to miatas or realy anything just bc they are so expensive
but if there was a aftermarkit as big as the miata after market then not only rich people woild have lotuses
What I love about Lotus is that their cars are powerful enough.
A normal Elise has 200-something horses.
if you need power in a miata you can swap and still have lessinto it compaired to a lotus
217/245 bhp on the Elise.
I think the biggest thing that makes the Elise quick is the lack of weight.
turbo built miatas 20-30 k 300 to 400 horse and no shit reliabilaty
You can do what Jason from EE did with his ND1 Miata and supercharge it.
Increases horsepower by 41% and torque by 36% over stock.
Basically 200 hp in a Miata.
i think that that would be good for track but i like drifting so i would turbo
How would a supercharger be bad for drifting? Turbo would be worse in my eyes.
wend it sideways on the weekendis in a parking lot
You wouldn't have as fine throttle control with a turbo.
but is tis more thrilling
Power is a lot more linear with a supercharger.
it is only harder if you have a larg turbo
its all about preference at the end of the day
I'd personally go with supercharger. To retain the NA-like-ness.
Turbo is generally better for peak power. Superchargers for lower end torque.
@viscid anvil I mentioned that because my fathers car was involved in a hit and run with a 97-01 ES and $8,000 worth of damage was done. I don't actually hate them.
@civic girder Are you familiar with adjusting valves? You'll need a set of feeler gauges.
I was probably going to take it somewhere
Idk if I feel comfortable doing that myself
Probably a wise idea
Also, all the spark plugs are soaking wet
It's a very in-depth job
Takes a while for even a master mechanic
Especially because the Prius engine is tucked back very close to the firewall
Well, I got about 150psi on cylinders 1,3,4
I got about 145psi or so on cylinder 2
The shop that stuck a camera in the engine said there was no cylinder or cylindder wall damage; and there was no risk of any to occur in the future. So I don't think it would be rings
It's gotta be valve clearance
ding dong the midsize manual is dead.
wot
Wot

I mean... it was the base model not the sports model.
nice option to offer, but I doubt the take rate went over 1%. lol
I'd get it
woah they have a pretty nice configurator
Many cars larger than a Focus, Golf or Corolla are auto only nowadays
In the case of the Accord... they weren't neutering the feature set, and it came on the 2.0T.
So people flat out aren't buying manuals even when offered something compelling.
I'd get the manual over the auto any day if I had the choice
But I don't buy new
So I don't get to make that choice
virgin auto vs chad manual
I'd say chad automatic.
virgin cylinder vs chad rotary
larger gear spread, faster, takes more power.
Less engaging, doesn't shift when you want it too, shifts too often, ...
less involving, less efficient and less fun
uhhhh
Vastly more efficient at this point.
Corolla sees a 5 mpg drop between transmissions.
who needs speed when you can have more fun at a lower speed
And I've never had an issue with an automatic shifting when it wasn't supposed to.
At least no more often than me forgetting to shift.
I've never forgotten to shift
how can you forget to shift
^
My car is actually kinda quiet.
I keep an eye on the tach in the RX-7 always. Don't want to overrev
So I'll find myself in 4th when I could shift into 5th.
I've always gone by sound.
I almost never look at the tach.
And I pay attention to what gear I'm in
i probably look at the tach more than the speedo
mainly because the mini decided to put the speedometer outside my peripheral
I would go by sound if I had a shift buzzer. But the S2s didn't. Literally the only thing wrong with the S2s is no shift buzzer
I want to
I just have no idea where to solder to because there's no write ups on the forums
All I'd need is an MSD rpm switch and a 7k module for it.
And ofc a loud ass buzzer
Put an Arduino between it, tap the rpm wire and read it's value
But I'd actually probs make the buzzer go off at like 6.5 or 6.8
Just so I don't risk overrev and so I can rev out a little after the buzzer starts to go off
Yes a friend of mine has
He already registered like a year ago
Had an appointment with the dealership last week
niiice
It'll be out when star citizen drops.
just steal one lol

it's a paper weight.
He ordered the mid spec, I think it's called the 1st Plus? In turquoise
Tesla may be sketch, but VW is just incompetent at this point.
isnt the software update to allow easier OTA updates or something
They don't have software finished.
Every single ID.3 produced right now is a shell.
The cars are built, but there's no OS.
last i heard was there is an OS they just dont want to ship them all just to have to recall them to allow OTA updates
Idk what the exact problem is
long run its better this way
I know the infotainment is shite

It's already in the Golf, Leon, Octavia... And it's horrible to work with
And that was after a year delay on the Golf to fix it.
so I've heard.
Classic VW
I'd argue the move to the smaller engine was a huge mistake.
What smoller engine
US had a 1.8T option, but that was removed in favor of the 1.4T.
Everything I could read up on it... it was a step back from the 1.8T.
EU has the choice of a 1.0 TSI and a 1.5 TSI(e)
slower, laggy, less refined, but better fuel economy.
TSIe is a MHEV with the DSG, non-e is manual
Apparently the turbo lag was exceptional on the manual.
I know VWs tend to be nicer inside, but frankly it's not worth it.
1.5 TSI is actually a good engine, and that's my opinion while I don't like VAG products lol
That nicer is gone now since the Mk8
US didn't get the 1.5.
US isn't even getting the new Golf.
rear end is nicer
It's another car that the US is losing.
although the main change is the lights
Sure we have the Jetta, but that's not a stellar car.
I don't like the front not back
The Mk. 8 looks like a facelifted Mk. 7.
I'm not feeling it.
But they cheaped out on everything
Put a horrible infotainment in it
Made it uglier
And ask more
isnt it mainly supposed to be cheaper to produce than the mk7
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/42/Volkswagen_Golf_VIII_IMG_2043.jpg it looks like they got drunk and copied Kia's homework.
Trick to being cheaper to produce is to make us think it isn't cheaper.
Instead it looks cheaper.
That's why every button is gone and it's all done via the infotainment
ive seen much worse interiors imo
Relative to other VWs... and Honda, Toyota, Mazda especially.
Both ergonomics and quality
I'd rather sit in a Honda.
if i had the cash rn id probably get a mazda 3
Mazda and Toyota stand above the Mk. 8... hell Mazda stands above everyone.
Nah Honda's look dated, but modern Toyota and Mazdas are on point
I'd get a used car
That's the thing.

That's an insult to Kia/Hyundai
theyre obviously trying to give it the more rounded look of the id 3 to make the line look more homologous
I think the Korean twins need to liven up.
gl with that
Last generation was still a step behind the Japanese.
Well I quite like the Niro interior, better than a CH-R
Niro is a current gen product I'd argue.
Ah yes
And the C-HR is a weird product.
Nothing in it belongs to modern Toyota. It's a weird car.
That being said... the new Sentra looks better than the Mk. 8 Golf.
one sec. Let me find a better VW picture.
nope... Nissan looks nicer. lol
c'mon load
Access denied
yeah one sec. I'm gonna brute force it.
Sentra exterior is
Ah that's 1:1 our Nissan Puke Juke interior
no glossy plastic on touch points.
i like the overall design of the vw but only if it had the leather stuff
VW's interior looks like hard plastic.
Ok slightly different
And here's the biggest issue.
The Nissan offers soft touch plastic on all trims.
VW does not.
i havent been in a recent vw
And take note. Nissan has a dedicated HVAC control panel.
Nope
but the older one i have access to is mostly soft touch
VW needs you to use the touch screen to change the temp... or wait.
no wait. π I see the HVAC panel right underneath the nav unit.
That's a questionable place to put it?
the mazda 3 interior looks better than both imo
wait... only temp?
although the infotainment is smaller i think
The Mazda is a much nicer place to be in.
Seats aren't very comfortable tho.
Driver | Volume | Passenger
Mazda made a nice luxury car.
Fan, seat, airflow... All goes through the screen
ew
Mazda interiors are
well the only way ill drive any of these cars will be in like 15 years soooo guess we'll have to see then
id get an up, polo, id3 or a arteon if i could afford it
No.
but those are the only ones id consider from their range
I remain a fan of Toyota's design.
One of the only cars with white interiors on offer.
Not in Europe
that's a huge shame tbh.
Did you see the TS 2.0 Hybrid I sent you a pic of?
Meh most people get black interiors anyway π©
Like 95%
still wish the newish 1 series was basically a refreshed old 1 series
It's like a Mini, but cheaper.
So is a Dacia Sandero
same engine, same platform.
at 25k starting id just get a used ev or something
At 25k you can get a nice new car in the US.
There is only one thing I wanna upgrade in my car. The door handles.
At 25k... I can get a nicely equipped new Corsa 1.2 Turbo 100hp
They're the only legit cheap piece of kit in my car.
i dont entirely get the point of buying a new car its just more money down the hole for the same thing
although if the warranty is good that'd be a plus
like the 10 year ones
After Β±2 years I'm changing my Corsa for a manual 1.6T Insignia probably
They'll be depreciated much probably

Maybe some day when I'm filthy rich
g-wiz anyone?
No
yes

Why not just buy a bike?
how anyone managed to do 22.7k in one idk
Idk how it has escaped from the hands of Top Gear/TGT
for the price of a 1 series i could get an ex demo e 208 or a 2019 leaf
not any on autotrader under 25
i learned in a 2019 208 so that'd be cool#
or was it 2020
the guy literally got it the week the new one came out
idk what hp the 208 i drove had
i never looked lol
i like the new e up purely from a cheapest ev standpoint
and its brothers
The dude which ordered his ID.3 is trading in his e-up!
But like an earlier model
Which now has like 100k miles on it
can get a s85 for 28k
With a 85-ish mile range
Add 7k to fix the broken MCU.
quite impressive
And 3k to run the feature back on that Tesla turned off.
Or is the S85 something unrelated to Tesla?
no its a model s
here's an interior
Bord
Ah
You'd enjoy talking to a guy I know
He's obsessed with them
Literally wants to own a fleet of them
I love panther bodies
Cause who doesn't want 6.0l of reliable LS power stock from the factory?
EWWWW
exclusively
Unreliable
the dohc 4.6 is a good collector's piece
it makes a lot too
when made to make a lot
:p
I've rebuilt 3 valves with only 120k
They are cool
Especially Marauders
But they're no good in terms of reliability
My brother has a 2 valve 4.6l F-150
Slow as shit
He wants to ProCharge it
Or trade it for a Duramax that we're going to look at tomorrow
@stoic ledge don't get electric bruh
get vroom vroom cars
electric might be fast but
V8 noises
are addicting
@median egret I'm not
Cybertruck. Slap on those rough terrain tires and go on the highway.
I promise you have more than enough noise π
cybertruck. the only truck that hipster-pumpkin-spice-latte-sjw-arse hipsters will buy

Uh
only electric car id get rn would be a lightyear one
yes slow but yes efficient
If you're gonna promote electric cars cuz efficiency
don't make them go 0-60 in 2.8
π€
Gotta love the image you used is in Dutch
Voortuigzijde, laadpuntzijde...
Doug saw a 1 series in USA. And I'm like "Heh".
Is VW golf 4 gti with 287k km worth even buying

after 6 hours of driving in edinbruh i covered a whopping 50 miles
edinbruh moment
i like how they felt the need to add fucking speedbumps made of cobblestone
I was expecting something to happen lol
i had a suprisingly uneventful drive around edinbruh besides the usual honking and a guy getting hit by a van
theres so many traffic tickety people in edinbruh yet so many people are parked on double yellows
pretty hard for anything significant to happen when your never going above 20mph unless no ones paying attention
@fathom socket you want something cheap and small the answer is literally an old 1.9tdi vw
If you hate diesels that much a 1.6 fsi
but it's TDI
So?
They are fine engines
the tax
is gonna to be high
Unless you get late 2000s
Then get a 1.6fsi
and I fell sick driving diesels for long times
1.6fsi
Or a 1.4
If you can find one
thay are really high milage
1.8 20V Turbos are also fine if you want performance
Obviously
They are old cheap cars
They are going to have some distance covered
When you are looking for a cheap car, you don't have any options like "Low mileage" or "nice smell"
the problem is
for such a small engine like 1.4
isn't that high
Depends on how the miles were covered.
In the US high mileage highway miles aren't usually viewed as a huge negative.
like 300k km
car mechanics are really expensive here
so replacing a clutch instead of costing like 250 usd is gonnma to cost me 2000 usd
I almost forgot about this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsLi7HgSuhI
Through the Green Hell at 369 km/h: Experience the fastest lap ever driven on the NΓΌrburgring Nordschleife.
5:19.546 on the stopwatch Timo Bernhard (37, Germany) crossed the finish line of the NΓΌrburgring-Nordschleife this morning at the wheel of the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo. ...
incredible run.
Took my c63 out for a rip today
havenβt driven it in a minute and forgot how good these sound
He probs means its losing clear and is starting oxidize
the hood has matte finish
Yep, as I suspected
I mean, the paint is fucked, but car looks alright
Like my car.
Shit paint, good car
I've stumbled across
not a fan of the wheel but ye, interior just needs some carpet cleaner and a vacuum
how many miles/kms?
miles?
km
Not bad tbh
i dont know the market value of these cars
but i would think thats a decent price
for something like this
as long as its mechanically sound
I didn't see any Mitsubishi other than colt
and someone imported Mitsubishi MIRAGE!
or any
I mean, Mitsubishi has like 2 models at any given time
why would somebody import Mitsubishi MIRAGE
el cheapo
maybe they just really like mitsubishi'
thats the only real reason i would see someone importing one
by that I mean this is like the least interesting car you could import
cause theirs cheaper options
Isn't the mirage basically the colt
i wouldn't even consider canada that good on importing laws
its just an endless money pit
unless you have a good contact in it
Β―_(γ)_/Β―
From what I can tell, importing to the US is ezpz. You just do it all online, and ofc make sure the car isn't some weird ass thing that can't get cleared by the port
Isn't the mirage basically the colt
@civic girder no, the Colt was a class higher
i see
And the Mirage was officially sold everywhere in Europe @fathom socket , just called... The Space Star
Since it's so massive and spacious

They Mitsubishi Colt had a Mercedes sister: the Smart ForFour
And, there were hot-hatch versions of both
https://media.autoweek.nl/m/m1nydbmbriub.jpg
Colt Ralliart and Brabus ForFour
1.5 Turbo π
Theirs not really any exhausts that i see that are worth it for my c63
might just go muffler delete on it
Who needs an exhaust
it sounds great with just the stock exhaust

why do golf 2 comw with automatics
Its not quiet by any means
i kinda like the stock exhaust
Yeah but i've heard other black editions and 507's with a custom exhaust
and it sounds way better

The Carrera GT has quite the widowmaker reputation β just like the original 911, which was known to call out inexperienced drivers in an explosion of oversteer. In this episode, Jason explores the origins of the CGT β and how its engine came from an ego-driven F1 flex from the...
TIL - Dumping the clutch is the correct way to drive a Carrera GT.

TIL - Dumping the clutch is the correct way to drive a Carrera GT.
@civic spoke the only way is losing control because you tried to modify it yourself and crashing into a tree, killing yourself and your famous friends and then have your pathetic family try to sue porsche for messing up yourself
Not having computers helping you out also helps you wrap yourself and the car around a tree.
And if I remember right about the Carrera GT. Then the clutch was either on or off. Didn't it become ruined if you tried to slip it?
But it's FWD
But it's FWD
@stoic ledge maybe in reverse?
That's how they drift Corsas in the UK
You can still slide around in FWD. You just need to control how the car shifts its weight.
REALLY helps if you have snow.
And if I remember right about the Carrera GT. Then the clutch was either on or off. Didn't it become ruined if you tried to slip it?
@civic spoke
lol no it wasn't a digital clutch
it was when driving away you didn't have to throttle until clutch fully released
I mean that you had to keep it either on or off. And that slipping it ruined it.
Like driving away is clutch full in, 1st, slowly release clutch
it was a carbon ceramic clutch iirc
and that was kinda wacky
cuz new technology often causes problems
I like the aggressive looks :3
Oh yeah is anyone watching a race on motor trend ?
What you mean, GT3 cars?
Yeah
Yea Merc make some good racing cars
I have heard that the GT3 Mercedes is quite popular
Because of how, well, "easy" it is to drive
I think they mean it's quite easy to get used to
Sounds lovely lol having a huge engine Infront of you on a track
There are Lamborghini huracans out there too
Yeah, GT3 is a nice mix of cars
Porshes, Lambos, Mercedes, Aston Martin, Ford, Corvette and etc.
A really fun class to watch in endurance racing
Yeah
I'm surprised they didn't crashed yet because that would hurt my feelings if the driver gets hurt and the car breaks
Well it's racing you die happy if you accidentally crashed or not but I'm sure they have new technology of safety
I feel sad that Audi made the last r8 with a manual transmission in 2015

This BMW looks so different
It does not have those giant ugli kidneys
wheres the plate
Murrica. I guess.
