IRS handles better.
90% of the time an independent rear suspension is better on packaging, refinement, handling, and comfort.
Lodgy is the minivan
A torsion beam's potential is much lower.
It is more comfortable, for sure
Independent rear suspensions have vastly more tuning potential.
RX-7 does not take big bumps well with the live axle lmao
With a lot of automakers. You'll find the Japanese have moved to IRS for better ride and tuning. Koreans and Germans are doing it to cut costs and add more tech.
Speed bumps are hella uncomfortable, and bumps long enough to span the length of the car will make it hop
Did it? Never noticed on the Lodgy
In the case of Mazda... save money to stay afloat.
No one accused new Mazdas of handling better. Just softer.
Oof well yes and no
I see the diamond theme.
I see the mighty Dacia
All Dacia's were originally developed as Dacia, not as Renault. But in some countries, the actual Renault's were too expensive for the people and the Dacia's where also quite modern cars, so they just rebadged them
There's absolutely 0 reference to the Renault family design
Just a tiny bit, sure
Never noticed it before

I'd drive that
If only the rally version would seat 7
Kek

Do I see 6 cilinders 👀
It's basically Dacia's version of the Clio V6
Who needs room for passengers when you can have a V6 instead
A Dutchy made an Alfa GTV Bi-Motore once
2nd engine in the rear driving the rear wheels
Kek
The original Bi-Motore
But building one yourself is quite cool
That will fit in my Corsa
Anyway, gtg. Gn
Nighty night
bro NGL that's what's powering my golf cart
Will that fit in my Miata?
if you believe hard enough then yes.
This might fit in your Miata @fathom socket
turbo the fuck outta that
Xbox swapped mx-5
i love the way these new saleen wheels look
still need new tires, and it needs to be lowered

Not really
It works
But it’s remote controlled (I assume) because it has no steering wheel
But if they do have one in 10 years, it better be more comfortable
Shittier? I'd say more functional.
That is a lot of RGB... and I'm not too hot on blue lights in cars. Fucks with night vision.

Been in hotter places
I understand that europeans might find that hot
ah yes
felt that in Ethiopia
It's quite cold here rn
32° from the car that is in direct sunshine is ok
It's like maybe the real temp is 25
Hot but ok
Hm 🤔
You have an SD card reader in your car? 🤔
What car is this
Hm @regal coral wrong channel?
Spam lol
It drinks a bit ⛽
hmm
2 L/hour on idle
I guess it isn't as bad when you realize that I can weigh 28 tonnes.
900kg :(
Payload capacity is 17 tonnes.
semi 🤔
He do
Oh, by the way. Truck just passed 8,000 km's
😵
@turbid onyx if you see a suspicious looking guy in black overalls hiding in your garage. let me him be. He means no harm, and he sure as hell ain't stealing your 8C

ah yes, alfa build quality
It's good to be home.
Before 3:30 pm
You're trying to say that Maserati build quality is any better than Alfa.
oh
but at least it ain't l a n c i a build quality from the 80s
Was built by Maserati, but still
@turbid onyx huh, coachbuilt?
yep, so definitely coachbuilt (handbuilt)
because as Jeremy clarkson once said, "Hand-made is another way of saying that the door will fall off."
Yea it leaks but anyway who would drive a 8C under the rain?
Oh yes mb I've heard Italians are crazy
On the road
xD
But the handling in the rain is hm
.. absent
No?
Yea
- suspicious look *
imagine being scared of crashing a $350k+ limited edition sports car
he crashed one because he's an insufferable idiot
one does not simply crash the most beautiful modern car in existence
you?
shit
oh
nice
have you seen the disco volante?
the uglier, more premium version of the 8c
Clarkson crashed an 8C? Don't remember that
This is not good looking
Can we see yours?
Oh nice
What's the red thing? A bike?
But the car seems ok
Not totalled at least
Ok, I thought it was worst
Expensive but nothing too bad
Wut?

Hm okay but why?
Just a big basic not really good looking American car with a v8 of course

Okayyy so it's a big carbon fiber body panel
Weird thing
No wonder why it's so expensive
Funny design
lol how to solve panel gaps
it was done that way because the designers didn't want any panel lines
@turbid onyx they should've gone the karmann ghia route
@devout atlas ok but again why do you ask that xD
no panel gaps
karmann ghia
it's one flowing design
that's from the times when coachbuilders like ghia employed panel beaters forming body panels on wooden bucks
@turbid onyx yes
bingo
if you're going that route, might as well go all in

crashing = replace the entire body

I don't even know half of these
I only know of pininfarina, bertone, ghia and guigiaro
maserati MC12 gang
thar was guigiaro
right?
maserati MC20 soon™️
fiat MC20
it better be fucking glorious
we need a worthy successor to the mc12
on july 15th on the other hand they'll launch the hybrid ghibli
@turbid onyx ugh, hybrid
it'll just be heavier
ah yes
it's for tax environment reasons, yes?
yeah
makes sense
the v6?
Imagine if it was one of those glorious old V10s
and the hybrid thing
right?
hm

With emissions and everything, the displacement as well as the cylinder count is going down

but the closed deck design
Finally picked my shit up and got the mx5 project I was dripping about 😄
.... V8 huh ;O
Pretty happy with the power of the little thing as it is right now really
Engines got 100k on the clock so we'll see how its future holds up and leave that thought for another day
Pre-warn, needs prepping and painting
.... V8 huh ;O
@fathom socket *the best V8
@devout atlas the MC20 will be ICE and BEV, but the nettuno engine will be used in PHEV applications on other models
@turbid onyx let's hope that this car gives the Laferrari a run for it's money, just like the MC12 did to the ENzo
because they were practically the same car
I don't have NA money, prefer the NB body too 😮
That.... Does need some work yes
Its had the majority done, just waiting for the spray booth to come free 🙂
No bottle spray paint?
Course man, rattlecanning it... just in a spray booth 😄
Joking by the way...^ Just before anyone says something
Hate red cars.....
Something along the lines of battleship grey
Straight
Because fck painting cars black, I'm not good enough...
leave it primer and call it nardo grey, nobody will notice
haha
leave it primer and call it nardo grey, nobody will notice
@stoic ledge My first thoughts exactly...
I wish I could repaint mine
Do it falcon
nardo grey must be the worst colour to ever go on a car
I don't have 2 grand
Rip
At least not to spend on that
His bumpers are a different color than the car
Groovy
Iirc
Lemme get a picture lol
1999 RX 300
Interested now
Brown + beige
Ooooh
Pic incoming in 3..2..1..
hm
mhm
The upper part is generally in pretty good condition. Couple small dents/scratches that could be resolved pretty easily or arent a big deal. The bumpers are the issue.
don't like the rear glass
make it a 4 door ute haha
Previous owner bumped into some stuff lol. Low speed etc
Previous owner a.k.a grandpa?
Can't find any bumpers from people breaking for parts?

F
yeah black out some stuff
respray into a pastel colour and boom that's cool
Ah well. Its cosmetic, not structural or anything. Still safe to drive etc etc
Structurally it's perfect.
Pretty sweet drive otherwise
falcon: won't pass inspection
Also falcon: still safe to drive
The colour is unorthodox but I like it
Might end up getting a 2007 RX 350 tho, it (of course) has a dent that is need to repair but I'd actually spend the money to fix that dent considering the rest of the car is like new
It's only at 52k miles

rumors are next year.
I imagine Nissan had an engine lined up a few years ago, but their Daimler alliance fell apart.
Bit of a shame. Inline 6, 400Z.
So a legit decade between models.
@civic spoke I see no problem
Maybe this is a time thats reminiscent to the events of the GTR, but this time nissan in the edge
Thing is both the 370z and GT-R remain relevant.
If only by virtue of standing in a field of one.
Okay to be fair the Supra now exists... and the GT-86, but those two feel as if they serve different market segments.
Apparently my mom backed into someone in our Lexus this morning. I haven't gone outside to look at the damage yet
wouldn't be the first time my mom has backed into something either
I don't think the lexus has proximity alert
its a 2010
Most cars don't.
I know her van has proximity alert thoo
A back up camera is usually enough.
Those are kinda ugly.
The only reason shes even driving it is because her van is at Chrysler because of a recall. We have no idea when we will get it back
Aftermarket parking sensors are never invisible, they always stick out
Even the factory options stick out.
Not that I've seen tbh.
Ah thats new for me to know
The factory sensors look like screw hole covers on a bumper.
Yeah
But why bother electromagnetic, oh companies.
Back when we had a Toyota Sienna, my mom hit the driver's door of the Prius, and then scraped the van's front bumper on something in a parking lot. And a year or two before we got rid of it, she backed into a sign and punched a hole in the passenger side tail light lens that I later had to patch with tape
Rear cross traffic alert is obnoxious in our explorer
Just use a back up camera. Those will beep at you.
It never is accurate lol
I've had cross traffic save my bacon once already.
My Prius beeps angrily in reverse, but does not warn you when you get close to anything
The explorer one is like BEEEEP for f**king everything, including the parked car next to you
the Lexus is the same way
Ahh convenience...
Or sometimes just for nothing
My car just... does nothing.
My car doesn't even have traction control, so a backup camera is a pipe dream
Even the lines on the back up camera don't change.
Now, my mom's Chrysler, it will begin to beep when you get close to something and beep aggressively if you get really close to something
That's how it should work
Over what you're getting close to
P sure that's the only way shes managed to avoid hitting something in the Chrysler lmao
I have the overlays.
I have nothing
They just don't move when I move the wheel.
My Corolla is alright.
I've got the thicc C pillars blocking a lot, but nothing mirrors can't fix.
The Prius has good visibility, but suffers from thicccccc pillars
Better than the Mazda 3 at least.
The RX-7 has the best visibility I've ever seen in a car
I noticed recently that Toyota was careful about styling the A pillars in my car.
They're still chonky, but they're styled in a way that doesn't block my view from inside.
I have moderate pillars but big windows and stuff, so it's easy to see/check when changing lanes/etc. It's fantastic. One of the best parts ngl
I can't see the hood when I'm driving 🤔
It slopes off lol
Prius is like that too
Honda was just bad.
the hood slopes into the windshield curve. Aerodynamics
I can see it in the Taurus and explorer but in my RX it's sloped enough that I can't really see it
"aerodynamics" my car has the aero of a barn
Lol
The RX-7, I can damn near see the end of the front bumper. Pop up the headlights and I know exactly how far I stick out
tho I filled up yesterday after driving to and from camping, and I got 23mpg
Camping 👀
That's highly unusual for my porker of a car
"camping"
RV
I need to clean my car today tho
I should wash both of my cars. Except all of my buckets are filled with old coolant
I should probably go take that to the solid waste plant today. My dad has been complaining about it lmao
no spoiler gang
ez to clean
I do need to take some isopropyl to the inside of the RX-7's windows
and I should probably wax both my cars. Probably ceramic coat the Prius, won't bother with the RX-7 since the paint is fucked anyways
I'll probably wax my car before long. The wax from the dealership lasted longer than I expected.
Can't wait to get a house so I can paint the RX-7 tho
It'll look so nice with a fresh coat of paint in the factory color code. And I'll probably get a decal made to replace the factory pinstripe
Real question is how I transport this without spilling all over the car
Also, damaged Lexus
Did she... Leave a note?
yeesh
P sure the other person was there
Hmmmm
The bumper got knocked off a bit. My mom said she pushed it back on
Yeah it's hold on by a couple of clips
Its holding on good still, but that corner up by the wheel isn't perfectly lined up
Ok. Back to the task at hand....
I might be able to get away with pouring some from the buckets to the trash can and then making sure to tie the buckets down

This should work actually
And then I want some boxes or something to help keep that bin from trying to move around
Little run around the block, it's working fine. Off we go
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnSQP50gMuE So 260 horsepower... manual maybe gets 6.5 seconds 0-100km/h
Acceleration tests, exhaust sound, plus drag races. Paul Maric puts the Ford Focus ST automatic up against the manual version to see which is louder and quicker and then the winner goes head-to-head against the Volkswagen Golf GTI. We are calling this series the Dragparison!
...
So maybe a second faster than my car.
Automatic is flat out faster.
Well that went swimingly. Besides the fact that I didn't realize that antifreeze can be recycled for free and went through the waste line for nothing
No spills.
yay
what cars do you guys have ?
One of my brakes broke :(
I have a Toyota.
I have a Toyota.
@dense shard model ?
I have a 2008 Honda Accord LX with a 5 speed manual
nice
I have a 2009 Toyota Prius and a 1983 Mazda RX-7 GS
Hellcat Charger, SRT Jeep, New Edge Mustang, and an x5 diesel
I thought those were SN95 Mustangs
mini hatch 2002
1989 BMW 325is
2012 Opel Corsa 1.2 12v Bi-Fuel
@civic girder Foxbody ended in 93, SN95 Started in 94, ended in 98, New Edge was from 99-04
ah, I see
does anyone know of a good rc discord
@cerulean verge I would just go into the public channel search and put RC in
theirs probably one official one
nvm i just checked and nothing comes up for RC or remote control
check reddit or smt
thx
does anyone recommend a good rc discord? that has good reviews and experienced people
Check reddit or just search the internet
SN95 went from 94-04. New Edge wasn't a new platform, just a styling update.
And even then. The SN95s were still Fox Platforms.
yep
Maybe so
dads got a 2019 mazda mx5 and a 2001 nissan pathfinder
moms got a 2007 toyota sienna le
whats ur favorite car guys\
My RX-7
ones that drive
my dream car is a 87 supra
MKIII Supra is better than MKIV, change my mind
i agree
R33 GTR is best GTR, change my mind
Top 5 for Skylines? 🤔
aren't there like, 4?
I don't like these 6 cylinder japs
you need a v8 to be good

not true
Ford GT is a V6 and it's one of the best supercars around in the past few years
Ford GT is a V6 and it's one of the best supercars around in the past few years
@indigo coral no
the new Ford GT has a lot of nerve being alive
I like it
Haha spooly boiis go brrr
it's a great car
buy it
The Ford GT drives amazing from what I have heard.
Isn't the Ford GT super uncomfortable, even for a supercar?
And it's not a rotary, so big sad
yall seen 400z
Have heard of it, not seen it.
^
That's a cool car, yes
Why would I want a 400z tho
damn dont gotta diss the rotary engines like that
pfft
rotary? rotaries are basically obsolete
@sterile holly
Why do the old things sound better tho
V10, V12s etc
not saying those are obsolete or old
but they will be dead in like 5 years
You dare challenge the resident rotary worshiper?
hm
2-strokes are capable of more power but not economical
the rotary wears seals down too quickly
this means they are high maintenance
4 Reasons Why The Rotary Engine Is Dead. The Wankel engine was last seen in a production car in the Mazda RX-8, and currently there are no rotary engines in production. Mazda may bring it back in the RX Vision, however there are many disadvantages to the rotary engine which ha...
😂
Piston engines wear down piston rings too
The difference is that rotaries have a shorter lifespan
Within that lifespan, they are reliable
And anything is technically high maintenance.
A piston engine you don't give a shit about will also blow uo
And yes, rotaries are shit on gas and bad on emissions. There's a way to fix it, but it would require lots of r&d
And then remember that the piston engine had over 50 years of r&d before the rotary was really a thing.
Its only natural that they're behind the curve
It sucks that there arne't many NA Euro/Asian cars.
At least ones that are more affordable.
Within that lifespan, they are reliable
ahh yes rotary ftw
1/1 S281 extreme, Saleen wasnt the best at money managing so he built this car to pay someone off (May have been his accountant I’m not sure), lizstick red, his daughters fav lipstick color
Is it a good idea to change the transmission fluid if you don't know when it was last changed?
My car is at 150K miles and it's on the list of things to do
Because so far the debate against changing it makes no sense considering it can take 50-75K miles between changes
When you bought it what mileage did it have
130K or so
Manual or auto?
So far they only say to replace it once
I'm guessing ford assumed either the car would be ditched or the fluid lasts that long
They're not wrong
drain and fill fine, do not flush an old transmission
Flush it till the internals come out the drain hole. (don't do that. Flushes tend to be bad on older transmissions for various reasons)
This is a very exciting video for me, as it showcases the first time I’ve driven an AMG.
Tim was generous and trusting enough to hand over the keys to his SLS black series and GTR pro.
Join me in the barn as I share some of my post-drive thoughts on these two awesome cars;...
Robert produces some really good stuff. He's a great personality with a lot of insight.
On my car I just removed the fill plug, then removed the drain plug.
once stuff stopped coming out, replace drain plug
fill till it starts leaking out the fill
and then replace fill plug
done
transmission fluid change ezpz
Automatics tend to be a bit more finnicky. Usual idea is to change fluid, drive it around the block, and do it a few more times to get fresh fluid throughout the system.
how often should a full oil change be donw
Engine?
Depends on if you're in Europe or the US
US dudes do it like 3k miles
yep
Or 02
10-20k will kill my motor 😂😂😂 @stoic ledge
Yes
3k miles if u want to go a million miles
cause I have an ooooold car
If I didn't have such a splitting headache I'd do it today but nope
Which engine is in the Mini?
yeah it was that
nice
ah yes
It's probably 9-12k miles or yearly
is an oil filter change like every 3 changes or something
yeah its probaby due oe
one
Usually it's like every other oil change
But it's better to just change them
They cost nearly nothing
And otherwise you'd be using a filthy oil filter with clean oil
3k miles is something you do with cars older than your parents.
Change your oil as recommended in the spec sheet.
There's no harm in doing it more often, but 3k miles is... that's a bit crazy imo.
Since I don't reach 18k miles
I do it every 5k miles.
Yearly = ±10k miles for me
My book says 5k, forums say don't gk past 2k but they're using dino oil
I use synthetic
(yes, 2k)
I do 5k intervals
2k? god dayum thats alot of oil changes
drives to the mall
Ah better get an oil change
10-20k and I'd have no motor left
😂
partially cause I'd burn all the oil before I got that far
But the Prius can go like 10k recommended between service
I'm sticking to 5 under the assumption my car is on a "heavy duty cycle."
Heavy duty cycle
steep grades, lots of stop and go, heavier loads, and considering I might be putting a roof box on... no reason to skip it.
Also I wanted to do an early oil change for my first.
what should i mod on my rx7 when i get it
Replace all vacuum lines. Replace all coolant hoses. based upon pfp, you're getting an FD, in which case you should upgrade the cooling (better rad, heat wrap the engine bay, upgraded electric fans, etc). Make sure you replace spark plugs, wires, and check the coils. Ensure the motor is not running rich or lean. And change all the fluids. From there, its up to you @smoky halo
though I would also recommend you perform a compression test so that you can verify engine health and determine how soon you might need to rebuild the motor or start buying parts for a swap
oh shit... FD?
I have great advice on how to tune those.
You just keep turning the boost up till the seals blow. You rebuild the engine, and turn the boost back a notch. boom, fixed.
(don't actually do that)
Ah i thought you were saying Civic FDs
Sorry my bad
lol
thanks a lot for the advice
my dad said he may buy a rx7 for us to work on as like a project 🙂 (but i have to pitch in ofc)
i may not get an FD though as they r very expensive
maybe a '91
Hey peoples here I have a question:
My car kinda shakes around, seems like its toward the arse end of the car, when I'm on the highway at 60+ and let off the gas. Once i put power down, it mostly smooths out. Seems to happen more after I've been driving for a while and stuff warms up.
It seems to come and go
sometimes when I let off, it happens, then it'll smooth out for a little bit, and happen again
it's not road surface
🤔 strange
Tyre balance, or tyre rotation recommended
Recently-ish got it balanced
And it's only when coasting
Once I put power down, it stops
Doesn't sound like it's tires. More likely suspension related.
Or a drive shaft? Idk
Sounds like drivetrain to me
@smoky halo ah. If it's an FC, all the advice still stands. Though cooling upgrades are less of a concern since even the Turbo II (aka T2) FC (single turbo 13B) has adequate cooling.
And I am in an RX-7 discord with lots of FC people who would be able to help you out if you ran into an FC specific problem
how to have a reliable RX7
- buy Porsche 944
- Rotary swap
you get German engineering with a Japanese rotary
what could go wrong
Why buy a 944? I literally see no reason
The FB with a na 13B is faster
The FC looks like a 944, but better
RX-7 already has rotary, so you spend less time and money
id have thought an rx7 would cost alot more than a 944
what would you guys use as an alternative to car shampoo when washing it
i dont got none
pfft
alternative car?
there's but only one car
and it's variations
god bless the panther platform
👀
Marauder isn't even that great either lmao
Yea, I like that kind of stuff
I would love to get an original 80s Mazda fog light kit, but those don't exist anymore unfortunately
Marauder isn't even that great either lmao
@civic girder it's the best panther
🤔
I'm not saying it's trash, just saying it's mediocre
You can do worse, but you can also do 10x better
the p71 ints are therefore the best panthers
dirt cheap
and good fun
@civic girder not for comfort, you can't
not in that price range anyhoo
If I wanted comfort, I'd get an LTD
If I wanted a panther body, I'd just get an LTD instead
I've never been in a more comfortable car than my buddy's 89 Crown Vic
Mmmm yes, let me go buy a car that does not exist here
And why would I wait 25 years and then buy a car sight unseen from a brand I know absolutely nothing about, not to mention shipping fees and import taxes, over something I could could go pickup and drive home today
if you want comfort
buick lesabre
1969
sure, you'll die if you crash
but you'll die in comfort
Yea no
Emissions, insurance, and dealing with importing my cars
BUT, I'd have to import my RX-7 to europe
And I still don't see why I'd want a Citroen over an 80s American land yacht with the finest of velour seats
And suspension so soft that the rocker panels almost scrape the ground when you make a hard turn
this is the american car youre talking about right
Yes
The only downside to the LTD is the Windsor and 5 digit odo.
haha really 5 digit? very cool
I don't think so, but that hydro whatever is probably overrated anyways
cant rate it if you havent tried it
Yea 5 digit odo is a nice meme. Really proves that even Ford knew how trash the Windsor was
that just means you can get a free 100k miles without hurting value if you maintain it
all cars should have 5 digit change my min
No, 5 digit odos are bad. Its good to know the true mileage
ah but from a selling point of view its great
coolest thing to come out of a vauxhall factory change my mind
This is definitely superior
damn youre right
the p71 ints are therefore the best panthers
I cannot stress enough. These are not cars you want to own.
They're built to take a beating, not much else. If you want any semblance of comfort get a standard CV or Grand Marquis.
As for 5 digit odometers... those are a sign of how long automakers expected their cars to last.
7 digit odometer when
Tssssk don't spoil it
It was an opel in the end.
vauxhalls are opels doe
yes
but this was basically a lotus
i dont think an opel blitz was built in britain
so not quite a lightweight sports car but the dna is certainly there
That's telling.
The bottom looks like a jag
The other two could be from pretty much any 70s whatever.
oh no, the top ones are from an ambassador
and you're absolutely correct about the AMC ambassador
Yeah, the Ambassador is peak 70s whatever.
MG Rover saloon thingy
it's not a jag btw
75 I thibk
it's a rover 75 sedan
it looks tragic
All of them do.
it looks quite alright
But the Rover has no excuses.
There was also a 75 Wagon btw
The floor console is horrific.
and built by lotus
@turbid onyx with Opel Ecotec (Turbo) engines
What academia?
1999-2005 lol
It looks like its head is so far up its own ass it thinks it's fancy.
uses 1.8 Toyota
Nothing academia about it.
It looks like something a British politician would drive.
And only because it was gifted to him.
No the British politicians would drive a Jag
probably because it was cheap.
probably because it was cheap.
@dense shard I like it too
Most teachers in the US drive something practical.
Like an Accord or Camry.
The cool teachers drive VWs and Subarus.
probably because it was cheap.
@dense shard to me, it seems like the sort of car that you positively must wear tweeds in
@turbid onyx I like the rover too
So it's stuffy and blah.
The cool teachers drive VWs and Subarus.
@dense shard VW cool
My physics teacher had a Dacia Duster
top lad
Yes
my french professor had a bloody datsun
I drove a Suzuki when I taught in Japan.
not as much as a panther
obviously
I had the Alfa GT at the time.
@turbid onyx the old one?
God, I love the rover 75
@devout atlas buy one, their basically worthless
@turbid onyx the old one?
@devout atlas 147 based
They're cheap for a good reason.

@dense shard that was actually not the 75
those were older cars
oh I know.
the 75 was a 3 series underneath
🤔
A BMW platform wasn't used.
This was in fact not the case: Rover engineers had used the concept of incorporating a central tunnel which had been explored by BMW as part of their own research into front-wheel-drive chassis design, which would have been a departure from the BMW tradition of rear-wheel drive on the majority of its models.
And ultimately used a Ford V8.
At the time of the launch there had been speculation within the media that the Rover 75 used the BMW 5 Series platform, perhaps due to the overall size of the model, the apparent presence of a transmission tunnel and the use of the parent company's rear suspension system. This was in fact not the case: Rover engineers had used the concept of incorporating a central tunnel which had been explored by BMW as part of their own research into front-wheel-drive chassis design, which would have been a departure from the BMW tradition of rear-wheel drive on the majority of its models. As the 75 took shape, this core engineering was passed over to Rover and evolved into the Rover 75 structure[citation needed]. The tunnel concept, along with the rear suspension system, was also used by the Rover engineers for the design of the Mini.
ah
gotcha
it's a remarkably sober car though
I quite liked it
back in the day
especially the older models with the twin headlamps
those were classy
this one
well, it ain't an eight C
that's for sure

America makes cars?
FCA has 2 sedans left.
Ford is killing the Fusion next year.
GM will phase out most sedans by 2022.
Last I heard, they aren't.
the chrsyler c300
pretend bentley
also, I live in in idealized past
of the 90s and 2000s
And unless it's a compact or midsized car, it won't be relevant.
Oh boy a Challenger replacement.
FCA is being stupid.
again
M138 is meaningless to me.
Wow... FCA car for America based on a Maserati...
The one which currently uses a boosted Pentastar V6.
FCA reputation hasn't improved since the merging in 09.
Lincoln and Cadillac are but empty husks of their former selves
now
nothing now
about damn time
Not really.
Amusingly that's the only thing FCA does right in the US.
Even then... why buy a RAM when you can buy a Ford, GM, Toyota, or even Nissan.
They have gotten just so obnoxious over the years it’s unbearable now.
anyway, they're called "charger" and "challenger" on internal presentations. targeted for MY2024 at this time.
@turbid onyx oh, chargers and challengers?
nice
nice
finally, muscle that can handle
oh god... so FCA will replace the Mercedes cars after 20 years.
nice
will there be the demon trim?
Is FCA going to release a relevant product in the US?
