your car
nice
Oof
Its a fiesta
It took em a few years to get away from that.
I cant really blame the manufacturer when the previous owner did delete the frontend
Ford have always been bad for rust
Mazda even worse
Actually I think that year of Mazda was a mazda product.
At some point it was in a crash where the front end was damaged so much it broke the water pump on the engine
pushups
mazda 2 on 2012 is ford
More accurate to say Ford is on a Mazda platform.
The most expensive 118i you can spec out is close to β¬45,000
more or less

But the Mazda 2 of that era had a few design changes that made it unique.
that rx-7?
pretty sure the mazda 2 has bigger headlights heh
lmao. You can really just change out the big spec 118i for a M135i
Base M135i is cheaper than the maxed 118i
I'll take a loaded Japanese hatchback over whatever budget car Audi or Mercedes offer.
Our 2001 honda civic old green (but really blue) has survived the rust really well and generally been a painless experience
At least I don't need to pay extra for a glove box.
(totally unbiased, not like I own a Toyota)
Tbh. A loaded car with a basic engine is probably more nice than one with just a big engine.
Dunno
Depends what you want out of it
I prefer speed more than i prefer leather seats
You're mad and possibly selfish to own a large car here without a good reason
I get more than enough speed out of my hatchback.
2 mazda 2's can pass on a single track road just fine
@civic spoke fully loaded 118i here is β¬56.403
I believe that you buy a car for a reason, Some people want to spend minimal amounts on fuel some people want to go fast.
Thats alot for a 1 series
The parking by the uni kids that somehow have got themselfs a range rover
I had plenty of reasons.
Ultimately... The Corolla proved to be the best choice of the cars I was looking at.
I was just looking for anything but a vauxhall corsa or a fiesta, and insurance was super cheap on a mazda 2
Corsa best car
Yea i thought that when saying it π but i think people know what i mean
And the Focus was kinda old by the time I was looking to buy a car. Nevermind we never got the new Focus here in the US.
For a 17 year old trying to get car insurance the choice of car is quite important
oh wow
I was able to get insurance on my 2 for Β£900/y with no black box
That's not bad.
incl breakdown
Not too shabby
cheapest i saw out of the like 30 cars i quoted
funny thing a ~2009 ish i think Subaru WRX hatchback is cheaper to insure than a 2001 Honda Civic
Newer card tend to go down, more saftey
Not only for passengers but things like plastic bonnet
or aluminum.
Makes it less likely to have to pay for life time medical bill
Theres even certain specs they have to make the bumper to, as in height and such
The Honda has been hit so many fucking times my parents are too nice to claim off peoples insurance and just take like Β£50 off them to do the old hammer and touch up paint which is not the correct colour
i need to get a photo of the rear bumper
If it works, it works.
I like Lexus
very nice
I hope I get to drive the 2007
Would be fun to have a car a bit newer + better controlled body dynamics + more power
I hear that.
I'm still waiting on the Corolla GR to make a debut before I make a decision.
My '99 body rolls ..a lot
Lol
The suspension is kind of archaic
The 07 is a lot better controlled and rides softer.

Not my gti though
I could honestly do with a VW Polo GTI. tbh
This is the performance pack gti
I really want to try a GTE
No you don't
I've driven one, it's meh
It has like 30km/20 miles of EV range, in which it's fast
After that it's just an 1.4 TSI with more weight, meaning it's slower, drives worse and uses quite a lot more fuel

Wait you're talking about
?
Are they TSI with Electric assistance?
Are they TSI with Electric assistance?
Yes it's a 1.4 TSI with an 60-70hp Electric motor added
And uhm,
can mean basically everything from nice, wow, cool, lol, to wtf, etc
Idk how to explain it haha
I thought they were full electric
Yea i think im getting them both mixed up or i assumed the GTE was a GTI version of the e-golf
Thats the one i want to try
No the Golf GTE is a PHEV
Wouldnt mind a go in a model s, dont think that will happen for a while.
Good idea lol
Why not a Hyundai Kona or Niro?
I honestly wouldn't trust the Germans or Italians to do EVs. Especially since VW has/had/will have issues with getting their software to work on various things.
Hell the new Golf was delayed several months due to software bugs.
My condolences? Italians cars don't have a good reputation in the US.
idk I'd buy an Alfa Romeo
If they work in your part of the world, power to you.
Fiat's triumphant return to the US proved to be more of a quiet fart in an auditorium. Their best selling product in the US is probably the Jeep Renegade.
The Guilia/Stelvio are awesome
I'd consider a Guilia Quad instead of a G70 if they stay at least moderately reliable
It really didn't help them tbh.
Mexico built should be a hit against automakers, but that seems to only apply to the Europeans.
I don't remember Ford or Mazda having build quality issues.
Well Ford does...
I'd love to have something like a Guilia tbh
... ngl. I actually avoided Made in Mexico cars.
The interior is nice and it's said to drive amazingly
damn that would be fun
I can't even get my hands on a G70 to test drive, much less a Guilia Quad
Still would be fun
I've never really driven a sports car
the most uhh dynamically endowed car I've driven is a Model 3
I'd like a 280hp Q4 Veloce. That's enough for me. I'm a humble guy
and it was only the LR RWD

Sportiest car I've driven... uhhhh... friend's modified Galant.
I'd say 2nd best car in terms of sportiness is probably our SHO
It was making 250 at that time.
ngl it was more fun to drive the SHO than the Model 3
the SHO is faster & feels more fun because you get to rev it out and shift up etc etc
vs the Model 3 LR RWD
Oof
What happened
Ah
Nice
Nice
Oof haha
Yeah I recognized them
And a Dodge Journey Fiat Freemont besides you
π
I've seen one with those wheels actually
I think that's the base trim here tbh
On the diesel I think
Lemme check
Yeah well our cars are initially taxed by CO2 emissions
So company cars often sometimes had those wheels, yeah
Oof haha
I don't see them in the configurator anymore
I'm just sad the US doesn't get a manual version.
I would
But I don't buy them new, so nobody listens to me

I want one
Can never afford one
Oof
Yeah well the ZF 8HP is also a great transmission
I remember hearing that the manual Gulia was pretty bad.
Oh, crap. Let me find this tweet.
I just learned that left foot braking is considered hazardous by some, which is absurd to me. I've always driven that way. At least I'm not alone. https://t.co/NnYfGuhAtf
oh no
ooohhhhhhh no no no no
Taran, c'mon man.
Just because you've always driven that way doesn't make it right.
I still don't like the feeling of torque converter autos though
Torque converter > every other auto
https://twitter.com/TaranVH/status/1276401553511981056
Reeeeeeeeeeeeee
I just learned that left foot braking is considered hazardous by some, which is absurd to me. I've always driven that way. At least I'm not alone. https://t.co/NnYfGuhAtf
But they're sooo slow
But then I'd rather shift gears myself lol
Same tbh
Why should I need a robot to do something for me when it takes so much satisfaction away
I don't hate automatics btw but I just really like shifting myself
My main issue is when the box doesn't do what I want it to do
And it has to think or prepare when I could've done a better job myself
lol
So basically like an F1 driver
Italian electronics π
I'm not a fan of clutch based automatics.
If it's gonna shift itself, give me a torque converter.
But they're sooo slow
@stoic ledge You ever tried dsg?
Uhm...... mutlitronic iirc
It depends. Dsg has a manual mode.
What do you mean by creeping?
Where an auto moves without throttle?
No multitronic is CVT.
Didnt notice alot of creep in DSG. yea i was correcting myself π
Vauxhall use a semi auto box, one clutch. cant remember the name
Easytronic
Yes, audis DSG is called s-tronic
The best box i can rememeber driving was a cvt box in a juke nismo
Is salespeed dual clutch?
SMG is dual clutch iirc, might be wrong there
or am i thinking smt
Why did i think that then lol
@stoic ledge You ever tried dsg?
@gaunt prism yes, but he wasn't talking about those
SMG is single clutch, the BMW dual clutch is called DKG
@turbid onyx DCT no?
No fan of the DSG as well, to jerky of the line and it shifts waaaaay to much
Press the accelerator 0.2Β°
Car: lemme drop 3 gears
Never seen the DKG name before
Im still confused about why i thought SMG was Dual clutch haha
Im still confused about why i thought SMG was Dual clutch haha
@gaunt prism no it was single clutch
And I'm trying to find out more about DKG π
I just sold my e92, I was looking for a dual clutch glad i didnt buy SMG thinking it was,
Possibly
Doppel Kopplungs Getriebe
D.K.G
π
Ah, DKG is a modified DCT gearbox for M cars
In regular cars the just called it DCT
SMG is Sequential Manual Gearbox
DCT is the general term yes, But if you configure a car it's actually listed as DCT as well
Interesting, i dont think ive seen a DCT BM
Ever tried a CVT box?
I loved that thing lol
What one?
It is weird but you can plant the throttle, it goes up to 4k rpm and stays there while ramping up the speed.
ahh jazz with the button on the sterring wheel
Yeah I don't like it either
Havnt tried a ford one.

Think the Mondeo Hybrid is one of the few in Europe, if not the only one
Ford's drive quite well
I've driven too many cars, yet I'm still on my first car lol
Well I take it easy as well, but I just like driving other cars
I want to drive as many different cars as possible

Idk why
But I like to experience them
@fathom socket No, not really you have to change compression ratios and such, to make a diesel run on LPG you need to make it run on petrol first.
@gaunt prism
You can run old 6 cylinder diesel Mercs on petrol
Like I said you have to modify the head to make it run on LPG anyways
Or use a mix of Diesel and LPG
Yea, technically its possible but the amount of work that goes into it, you would be better off changing the engine.
Some obscene LPG company experimented on using a mix of LPG and Diesel
I've heard that Diesels can run on CNG
Not sure you could really mix them
That's why I said "Technically"
There was a method
Called fumigating or something
finally
it uploaded
Also most cars I with LPGs are old and slow cars
Some new stuff too but mostly old
is focus st slow?
It's meh
I wouldn't consider it slow
every single one I saw in poland it had LPG installation
But I can see someone installing an LPG system inside it
Mostly cars of cheaper categories
lamborgini with LPG
That's dumb

You don't even have any space to put your luggage
that would be fun to watch
I disagree with that too, at least here. People use LPG on larger engines.
Larger engines tend to be in more expensive cars.
Well the most expensive car Ive seen with LPG
in passager seat
Was a cayenne
An old one
the most expensive car I've seen with LPG was a Dacia duster
Probably just here then
The focus st is more expensive

the first gen focus st?
I've seen S-class on LPG
But also many pickup trucks
Uhm it was the latest gen at the time, now previous
Especially early 2000s and late 90s
I've seen LPG in a truck
An S class from the 90s
If you've got a couple of warning lights
4 banger that's 4 liters
Where are you from?
W221 generation
ahh
Idk my merc gens
Why would it be impossible?
Yes
S class starts with W thats all i remember
no
No it's like the 2010
God I hate new mercs

I just hate cross-over SUVs
221 is 2007-2013
i just hate new cars in general
Why the fuck would you buy a crossover SUV anyways
Yes
Just big for the purpose of being big
Most people with LPG use toroidal tanks in place of the spare wheel
@turbid onyx that's what I have, yes
That's exactly what a CUV is
imo if you want to go off road get a land rover
@stoic ledge aint it beatiful
No
Is that an opel
maybe even a land cruiser
Mazda no?
323?
Looks like it
Surprised it's not rusted away
FI?
but that think doesnt have seatbelts
Yea lmao
spid
Must be the la best survivor in the world
Do you know how hard it is to find a 323 GT-X that hasn't been rotted away
and it was raining
Ah did the roof rust away?
Lol goodbye electronics
Classic
As if a 323 is safe
That just means it can reach 100kmh
lol
Not that it's safe
I bet the chassis flex on that thing is real
With the roof off
beater
What year is that? seatbelts have been mandotory here from like 82
The best project car in my opinion is a Mazda Miata with mods that include epic air filter new spark plugs and injector and headers and a suspension upgrade/ exhaust upgrade
Why would you install injectors on a naturally aspirated miata
ohh
Why would you remove seatbelt? confused
Because cheese
seatbelts @gaunt prism
It's not like the injectors are bottlenecking the engine
wouldnt call seatbelts useless lol
ask the owner
not sure why he removed em
but not my problem if he dies in that beater

I i start to drive like a dick i put my seatbelt on.
@versed oasis Get something like a Saxo
that mazda is already an deathtrap so eh
Not that that has airbags but no seatbelt, no airbags
No seatbelt == faster to jump out of
exactly
lol
who nees airbags anyway
You are free to bask in the sun standing up in your car
As you have no seat belt to worry about
You can't wear your seatbelt if you don't have one
So the police can't pull you over
yes
Thats not how it works here
idk
What they give you a seatbelt?
police wouldnt even notice
They would take you car.
Ofc it doesn't work like that in any country
they only watch for mopeds
Not fit for the road
Yes
If you don't have a seatbelt installed you can't pass MOT anyways
Or whatever is the equivalent in other countries
my brain thinkin what is MOT anyways
Road standards test
APK
Ours is just called a check up
dunno what it is here
When I was a kid I thought that was like a warranty
Kek
kek
Or some kind of doctor stuff
doctor stuff
Well for some people it's maintenance
lmao
Also you can't be fined for not having an MOT if you don't get pulled over
MOTs are so messed up here though. It can fail on a missing wheel nut. The tester can watch you go outside put a wheel trim/hub cap on, hes not allowed to take it off to check the wheel nut.
oh shid, tomorrow is Jul 1. Time to remove my front license plate
Police here use ANPR so the police cars will ping if you dont have MOT
why
Its the rules
to remove front license plate
I mean a missing wheel nut is a fail anyways
Not allowed to disassemble
Ohio?
@turbid onyx yessir
Yea i agree
How are they going to check the brakes if the car has steelies
MOTs are so messed up here though. It can fail on a missing wheel nut. The tester can watch you go outside put a wheel trim/hub cap on, hes not allowed to take it off to check the wheel nut.
@gaunt prism tbh I'd rather not drive around without a wheel nut
Me too
The only time you can drive with a wheel nut missing from every wheel is when you are getting the spare out
And drop your wheelnuts to the sewer
@tight cypress Fiat 131 or Lada 2107
lada
no π ±οΈiats here
And the manufacturer
and wth is murat
That's never the Fiat

@tight cypress it's a TofaΕ
It looked nothing like that
ah yes
That's a Turkish car manufacturer
Fiat was waaaaay nicer, better etc
Under Fiat
It's 124
Ye
But they were basically completely different
And the eagea
Or whatever it's called
Thats not too different than a 131
Tbh
Just an older one
And no the 2107 is a 124
Not a 125
Which is not too different than a 125 anyways
Oliver
lol they get top gear in turkey?
Not worth watching since those 3 quit/got sacked anyway.
But I sometimes see the monthly issues
In stores
I like the Ascona B
Especially the 400
I recently took this amazing pic of the last Lancia sold here
This image quality is amazing
It deserves to be ik magazines
The best Lancia ever
It may or may not be a 300C with a diesel in the front
Literally 0 expense
Lancia only has the Ypsilon left in Italy only... Maybe soon a new one on the new 500?
Oof
OOF
How
It's sold nowhere else in the world, but 2nd best in Italy
That's amazing
Yeah I figured
Are thing still going to sell the old 500 besides the new 500e?
Ah then it makes sense
Tipo sales are virtually none here, since it's taxed too heavily since the emissions are quite high
So where it should be quite affordable, it's just as expensive as a Focus or something
Yeah Hybrid might help
With Turbo?
Oof
Because the 1.4 N/A is too weak
You want the 1.4 Turbo
If they can get the price down of the 1.4 Turbo with 48V mild hybrid system, I think it will sell well
It's a nice looking car
It needs at least the 120hp from the 1.4T
Oof
our 1.0 3 cyl fiesta can get 150+
Yes pls
with turbo
Maybe slight exaggeration.....140bhp
Didnt know the ford GT used a 3.5 ecoboost
Yeah it does
Good Monte, good
twin turbo v6
I'm playing Deus Ex.

Just noticed, they used to be 2.0
although im thinking i might be wrong there, cant seem to find power figures for it
apparently they can get the 2.3 up to 550
isnt that pretty close to the 5.0
460 stock i think
thats pretty impressive
Apparently enough power to ruin the manual transmission.
The 8 speed auto can handle like 850 wheel with drag radials apparently, which is pretty impressive
I thought the Mustang only has a 10 speed auto option?
Fuel filter after 10 years apprently and 8 liters of water in the tank (the new one is beside it)
54 years old
looks like someone used the old "shoot air into the fuel line to blow the sock apart" trick
Ye
July 1 so I can finally run no front plate
I also snapped one of the bolts on the mount trying to get it off, so there's no going back either lmao. I'll have to get a new mount if they ever reinstate the front plate
You get used to front plates. It's better if they are designed with one in mind.
classic
Alright, which of you did this?
not having a front plate is illegal in bc, but rcmp seems to be blind cause i havent had a front plate in over a year and my mustang has not once been cited for it
even got pulled over once for something else, cop looked at the front and didnt say anything about th eno front late
Ye
My state passed a law last year that went into effect today
I wonder if my fuel economy will go up
Maybe by like .2 at best lmao
Idk, there's a real chance yeeting the front plate could yield a minor increase in fuel economy. Thinking about the aerodynamics, the plate would cause drag because it interferes with the shape of the body. Its not like a more modern car where it's mounted on the bumper with a nicely shaped mount. This was just a metal bracket that wrapped around to stick up

In my car it would exactly 0.0 difference, since the bumper is designed to hold a plate at any time
people really dont like drilling holes in their bumpers
so some people ive seen
duct tape their plate on
for cars where theirs no other way
but to drill it in
Yea, it would make no difference on the Prius either. Actually designed to have the front plate mounted to the bumper
I guess I'll find out if it makes a difference on the RX-7 after a fuel stop or too
dodge gave me this holster thing when i bought my jeep and hellcat
dodge gave me this holster thing when i bought my jeep and hellcat
@frank tundra fiat
except the dealership decided to drill a hole in my srts front bumper anyways
Quite certain mine is drilled in to place
Quite certain mine is drilled in to place
@stoic ledge 0.8L go brrt brrt
my hellcat honestly looks better with the front plate
1.229cmΒ³ to be exact
1.2*
@stoic ledge aren't you a baller with the big engine?
The Prius has a bracket mounted to the bumper (drilled holes). The bracket actually flows into the shape of the bumper somewhat tho.
theirs a lot i want to do to my jeep but the 6.4 is not good unless you fully build everything
i dont wanna have to wait for forged internals
Sounds like rotary lmao
You either do nothing or you do everything
but then why have a hellcat
yeah thats how the 6.4 is
you can do some things
you can get it up to 550whp
with a tune, intake and exhaust
but anything more then that
boom
thats why you just buy a hellcat instead
Yea, I mean I can do exhaust and carb mods or carb swap and get upwards of +35hp at the flywheel
yeah same for the 6.4
unless you have forged internals, fully built everything
not worth the risk of insane power
But if I want the b i g power, have to port the motor, which ofc requires a full engine rebuild
trackhawks are fast tho
my hellcat unless its a perfect day
would probably lose to one in a 1/4 mile
1/2 mile ill probably catch it
And if I'm rebuilding for a port, may as well get the rotors lightened and maybe even get a billet eccentric shaft
i wish i lived in texas
could just walk to your neighborhood hennesey
and walk out with a 1100hp car
When their was a BLM protest here in van, my mustang was parked on the road
and it was really crowded
where i was at the time
one of my rear tires ended up slashed
not a fun day
F
i dont know why it was slashed but it was
after that
whenever im home, all my cars are in the garage if possible, or in the driveway with my gate shut
and my dog walking around in the front
Reminds me of my friend who accidentally destroyed a tire on his van
it wouldve been fine
if i had realized
it was slashed
didnt realize that
till i heard a big BOOM
had to get a new wheel and tire
fender was a little fucked too, but i just took a hammer and worked that out
Where i live some stupid ppl is loosing wheel nuts when cars are parked ..
Got all lock nuts on mine + guarddog
that is flat flat
I doubt it was anyone who was actually participating in the protest
just some dumbass who thought it wouldve been funny since the street was completely crowded
shitty thing is, i wouldve sold the termi by now if that hadnt of happened
and my hellcat wouldve already been up to 1000-1100hp
had an offer of 30grand for the mustang, but with the damage, wasnt gonna happen
The steering rack mount is fucked up, so going full lock is a bad idea. He went full lock anyways and it tore a giant hole in the sidewall
My cell connection is ass in my office holy fuck. Why they had to cancel our Verizon shit for hotspots, I have no idea
300whp sentra LMAOOOO
this is a GEM
IT HAS A 2STEP SYSTEM LMAO
and its a manual
I need to get WiFi in my office again, god damn. I can't do anything
this is actually the greatest thing i have ever seen
literally a "i couldnt afford a skyline or a gtr so i bought a sentra and made it as fast as a stock skyline"
nice!
Ready for road trip
π
so it's official.
Suzuki's first new car out of a Toyota collab is a rebadged RAV4.
oh nvm. Toyota is already rebadged Suzukis in India.
oh nvm. Toyota is already rebadged Suzukis in India.
@dense shard lol did they? Never new that
Apparently the Suzuki is coming as the PHEV version only (for now?)
yeah, we usually have to look for India car news.
and yeah
ah, so the Nettuno engine from Maserati.
Because Ferrari stopped developing engine for them, they had to go out and design/build their own.
I think there's more to that.
Isn't the current engine a hot Vee design?
oof
Well I suppose that'll make heat management easier.
Electrification will play an important role in the companyβs future, and weβre already anxious to see what a hybrid version of the twin-turbo V6 will bring to the supercar game.
oh no
Well if not much changes, that's fine.
oh no
Europeans need to work on electrification reliability before they start selling it.
good
It doesn't show.
And the best they've managed since then is the 500e.
Which is just a compliance car.
Once again... it doesn't really show.
The best FCA has done in the US at any rate is release mind hybridized engines on the Jeep and RAM truck.
wow... so FCA's first real EV.
A compass PHEV... oof
The Pacifica has plenty of issues.
It's not the most reliable car on the market.
Sounds like something Jeep/Ram have been doing.
Not much demand, but I haven't heard anything bad about it.
uhuh
I'll believe it on release.

π€
That sounds exactly like Jeep's 2.0T eTorque system.
GME... the Global Medium Family?
The Global Medium Engine ( GME for short) is a family of engines created by the powertrain division of Alfa Romeo and in production since 2016.
The GME family is composed by two new series of engine: one created by FCA Italy (codeproject Giorgio) produced in Italy Termoli fact...
Make what you will of this.
yep
The joys of engine sharing across platform lineups.
It takes the excitement out of new engines, but it does mean automakers can afford to develop and sell them.
It also means any preexisting issues that may have existed SHOULD be worked out by now... ahem HONDA?!
yes, I'm more than capable of bashing other automakers. Don't worry friend.
You haven't seen me go off on Tesla or Honda yet.
What, on top of the engine?
oh nooooo
FCA, dammit
I believe it.
They probably realized their mistake.
brb, need my coffee
I think I get it.
It was probably one of those parts that was meant to "last the life of the car"
But realities are filters never do. Honda had the same issue with their transmission oil filters.
Difference is there wasn't anything you could do to replace that filter. lol
good
I'll take that over it being inaccessible at all point. lol
Why would they.
Pretty sure my car comes with a fuel filter, no mentions of it.
That sounds...
bad
um.... what
a filter in a bolt
it's disguised as a spark plug in a place that doesn't need a spark plug
but with the line attached to it i see how it might be useful but more complicated than it should be
I have a question
driving a car with oild level just below minimal level
for a short period of time is gonna to hurt it?
Should be fine, but is not recommended.
Just as a quick word of warning. If the oil light comes on, it's already too late.
because my oil cap got undone
if you real careful probably not but I'd just add oil just to be safe
and I didn't have enough oil to put
I mean, I'd freak out personally, also for what it's worth. I've heard of hypermilers underfill their oil quite a substantial amount.
I just had something like 0.3l left
If you can avoid driving it do it.
I generally fill mine about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way up between the two dots on my dipstick
If you have to drive, do it immediately to a store. lol
well
and don't romp on it
oh, it's not the speed. Just don't make any sharp maneuvers I imagine.
well i mean don't rev it out frmo every stop light or whatever
Remember, you got a sippy straw going to the bottom of your oil pan, from there that's how your car gets lubrication.
at least I didn't lose my oilcap
good good
don't wait, yeah. Do it immediately. I need to add oil to mine today, incidentally
mine's at a safe level but I'm going to drive it a few hudnred miles tomorrow
Dealership overfilled my car.
yikes
hmm
Can't say I'm too happy, but w/e.
like overfilled over the top dot on the dipstick?
I remember my uncles VW got overfilled
yep
fuck
Just another thing to keep in mind when going to that dealership.
is it unsafe to drive my car if I'm at 4800 miles since the last oil change?
should be fine.
we are taking it on a couple hudnred mile trip tomorrow
but I'm not sure ill have time to do the oil
I just change my oil every 8000 km
You said you use synthetic, right?
yes
yeah, you'll be fine.
I don't care if ford says to change every 15000 km
ok
I'm just concerned bc lexus forums warn against going past 2k miles between oil changse
lol
From what I've found, all automakers include a healthy margin of error for idiots.
plus minus a few hundred won't matter.
ill be adding like 1/4 or 1/3 of a quart today
If it does, you are probably driving a BMW or Mercedes.
I'm a bit above the bottom dot rn, gotta add a bit
wat?
on focus?
No zhe Corsa
oh
used ford focus mk 1 with zetec 1.8 or 2.0 engine
@frank tundra what do u think
I used to have one
but I need to buy a new one
because taxes
and my old one is just a rust bucket
frame is mostly rust free
but all the panels
zetec diesel 1.8?
gasoline
alright idk them ones
I hate diesels
especially the old ones
I just get sick
Are you asking between the 1.8 or 2.0 engine?
I'm asking those 2 engine sizes
since 1.4 and 1.6 tend to be less reiable
my one had 300k km
and needed valves replaced
because of LPG
Well 300km is around the lifetime of those engines anyway
about 200k miles here. If you get a car to 200k here, you did well
Im not sure what the question is though.
The actual lifespan of an engine is purely how long is a piece of string - it goes down to how well it's serviced, how it's run and treated etc. However, as a rough guide and an average, a correctly serviced Zetec lump is good for 200k with little work - we've had literally loads easily achieve this in testing.
ew
Hes right imo if you want reliable then corolla would be a good choice. If thats your main concern.

@gaunt prism I think I've told you that before... I'm always right

Internet super slow
living the FCA life
Fiats warranties controls my life π¦
Corolla too expensive
Reliable doesnt come into it when i buy a car.
rip
imagine having a reliable car
take it to the dealership
Corsa exhaust π
damn it would be nice
bring it back
put the exhaust back in
And I would rather walk than drive the Yaris
@turbid onyx You havent owned a hellcat or an srt jeep have you
cause i can tell you
the 6.2 and 6.4 are not daily drivers
Turbo died on our Fiat Punto Evo 1.3 M-Jet
even tho i treat them both daily drivers
inb4 fiats are more reliable than my rx
200 bucks per fill up
Thats prob why you dont see the issues
but it good vroom really loud
oh
iirc thats an opel engine
diesel?
Yes
1.3 M-Jet
Opel used it in the Astra, Meriva and Corsa
But it's a Fiat engine
im pretty sure the dodge dealer knows ive already fucked my warranty and voided it
JTD?
cause when they were changing my oil
the mechanic kept giving me a weird look
when he was looking under the car
i had my head gasket on my old srt jeep blow up
fiat ol' reliable
JTD?
@gaunt prism Yes, Multijet
what did i do? i watered down my head gasket, made it look like it was fine, took it to the dealership, traded it in for a 2019 srt jeep
Multijet is Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' term for its current common rail direct injection turbodiesel engine range. Most of the Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia range as well as certain Chrysler, RAM Trucks, Jeep and Maserati vehicles are equipped with Multijet engines. Ownership of so...
There now π
it actually worked as well
the guy who drove my jeep
"bro you took really good care of this thing"
no i didnt
its still sitting on the lot to this day
Ive seen those melt the injectors
I think thats the one where the cam shafts snap too
oof
Kudos to https://imove.no/ for lending me the car.

Sweet just tow a honda e behind you lol
35.5 kWh
it's an interesting lookign car
hold up
is the screen actually that big?

people make fun of tesla screen but holy shit
is the screen actually that big?
@indigo coral You seen the center screen in the tesla?
With a lot of imagination, sure π
American automakers would really prefer you forget those touchscreens.
Especially GM.
My car has a screen but its not touch
Touch screens have been a thing for like 40-50 years I think
Toyota had some touch screen stuff in their Celica Supra or Celica XX lineup with the more luxurious trim levels in Japan
Audi actually state in the handbook on some engines they can burn up to 1 ltr per 1000miles
@turbid onyx do you own an Alfa?
It has come time to buy parts again.
because your rotary likes to disintegrate?
yes
except none of the parts are engine related lmao
mainly just qol things
new washer fluid bottle cause my original one has a hole in it and can't fill it more than half way
new antenna mast cause the power one is broken
battery hold down bracket cause mine is mia
and drum brake screws so I can finally fix the clanking and pulsing in the brakes
it was missing when I got the car
luckily the bracket and shit is only like $40
not bad for an 80s car where 97% of parts are out of production
yes
